Last island is home to raccoons who are pretty chill especially if you happen to have fruit or nuts. Staff were friendly and helpful going through the basics. As someone who had kayaked only a few times before, I didn't feel too challenged by the route. We also were running five minutes late, called in, and they were kind enough to hold the boat. Shout out Adam and Jose. Recommendations and tips: - If you're not a local, plan an extra half hour to get there due to bad Miami Beach traffic. - Wear bug spray and sunscreen. - Wear lighter clothing and sun protection (hat, sunglasses). Then we kayaked across the bay to Raccoon Island where some of the group went around the island to look at the isolated population of raccoons, and we went snorkeling. We saw a couple of puffer fish, a dinner plate sized stingray, and a bunch of other smaller schools of fish. The water was clear even though it was a windy day and we had a solid 45 minutes to snorkel. Then we paddled back to the kayak point and took the peekaboo with the rest of the group back to the dock.
