The service is usually very friendly - they have no problem joking around with you...no dry personalities reciting from corporate requirements, here. One particular occasion, we called a to-go order in and they had sold out of peaches and cream fried corn on the cobb (which is to die for). The sweetheart on the phone literally went to the Winn Dixie across the street and purchased some, so I could have it along with their fantastic, hand pattied burger. How do you ask for better service than that? You can't. Their chicken and dressing is excellent, the hoe cakes are straight out of my childhood and the catfish....the huge, plate covering pieces of delicious white meat (no slimy stuff in theirs...looking at you, chain restaurants) are my absolute favorite. We've always had overwhelmingly positive experiences at Christine's and can't wait to go back. We've been there when they're short staffed and I've had to resist the urge to ask if I can help them when I see them running around like crazy. Instead of griping when something isn't perfect, maybe figure out how you could help? It's not like they are expensive. We have no trouble grabbing our own extra napkins or going to them to ask for butter or a drink refill, ourselves. This has only happened 1-2x but cut them some slack. You're getting good food at a really good price - maybe don't be so high maintenance. Or, go to a Michelin rated restaurant, instead, if you want your every whim indulged, the moment you have it. As for us, we'll happily keep Christine's as one of our favorite local spots and return as often as possible.

Situated directly across from C1, this location is fairly spacious with several tables, high tops and even counter/bar seating. No servers, order at the counter on one end and listen for your name at the other. I popped by on the way out recently, mainly due to the fact that they have grilled tenders! I got three grilled tenders, slaw and a pack of their chicken skins for a little less than $20. At my initial pickup, they had fried tenders and once I let them know it was grilled, they apologized and within a few minutes, I had my correct order. Given the type of service I got at ordering, I wasn't surprised the wrong variety of tender was put in. As with most spots, this location gets busy fast, so if you see a break in the line and a few empty seats...do it! Overall solid spot for a hearty meal when at BNA.

It can be super hard to find a seat to sit at. There is a bar area here too. I got 2 sandwiches for $14.30 each so $28.60 total. I got one Hot and one Damn Hot. The hot one is fine and I think just about anyone can eat. The Damn Hot is actually damn hot. I decided to not eat all of it as it does make your mouth burn. Plus, I didn't have time to order a bunch of waters before my flight. This was my first time trying their mac n cheese and I liked it a lot. The $8.25 Bearded Iris Beer was really good too. I was craving Nashville Hot Chicken and this is the go to spot for it in Nashville.

Today I realized it was right down the street from me so I stopped by, no one came to the counter right away so I was able to snap a picture of the menu. As I tried to sneak out the owner came to the window and I felt compelled to order a fish plate and wings. I just wanted to check the menu because I knew I wouldn't want to pay $20 for food. I left and came back about 20 minutes later and the food was ready and still very hot. My 2 plates only came out to $13 and change so I was very happy about that. The food taste amazing to say the least. My wings were seasoned perfectly and came with a Buffalo ranch sauce that my mom used to make at home, didn't even know that sauce was a real thing! The fish was perfectly crispy and the coleslaw different, since it had relish and mustard in it, and still very good. The best part of it all to me were the fries, I love how they were seasoned and soft. I could not tell for sure but some of my wings looked like the meat may have been old or previously thawed out, learned that from watching kitchen shows on TV. Still very good and not worth losing a star over. This restaurant is only open Thursday through Saturday and it's tucked off in a neighborhood beside the public works office.

I've heard people talking about eating Raising Cane's and how good their chicken tenders were. I've never tried them before and didn't realize that they only serve tenders. I like tenders, but I was craving fried chicken(bone in). It was late, around 8:45pm and I went to the drive through and ordered the first combo(bummed about no bone in). It had a catchy name for it, but I forget. Pulled up to the window and received courteous and fast service. They advertise as every order is freshly prepared. Since I received my order so quickly, I was anticipating something left on the warmer. Boy was I wrong! I opened the corner of my takeout box and felt around for a tender and that sucker was hot! What a nice surprise to see the meat steaming after a bite. It came with some bread and my hungry butt shoved that big tender into the bread and had the best sammie while I finished driving to my destination. I ate the rest of the fries and slaw and 2 more tenders after I got there and all that hot and delicious food was worth the stop. I would definitely recommend this place if you're a chicken tenders fan. I really wasn't a big fan until I had some of Raising Cane's. Good, hot, freshly prepared, and super fast.

If the fries had been just a teeny bit more crispy and would've been even better. I like the fact that they have a double drive-through. This probably helps with those busy lunch breaks. This restaurant is a little newer, and the inside is always clean. For future reference, I'll need to remember to ask for ketchup, thankfully I had some in my truck. Also, I think I'll get a side of their slaw and extra cane's sauce. Overall very good!!

The little white building on 4th Street still wears its vintage RC Cola sign like a badge of honor, and the moment you push open the door, that familiar sizzle of burgers hitting the oil hits you like a hug from your childhood. We slid onto the stools at the old horseshoe counter, the same one I remember from when I was a kid, and watched the magic happen right in front of us. Patties kissed with bread for that impossibly soft center, fried in the shallow oil until the edges turned perfectly crisp and golden. My cheeseburger arrived "unsquoze," glistening and glorious, layered with that signature tangy sauce, crisp pickles, and onions that somehow make everything sing. One bite and I was twelve years old again--only this time I got to share it with my own family. The new owners have kept every bit of what made Dovie's legendary. Same perfect burgers. Same simple, soulful menu. Same feeling that you're exactly where you're supposed to be. My kids devoured theirs with the same wide-eyed joy I used to have, and we left with full hearts and fingers still a little greasy in the best possible way. Dovie's isn't just a burger joint. It's a living piece of Tompkinsville history that still tastes like home. If you've never been, go. If you grew up on these burgers, go back. It's every bit as wonderful as you remember.
