Delicious pizza, fantastic staff. Gluten free crust option is ok but room for improvement.

My wife and we're camping in the area and had a taste for pizza. But are always hesitant to get pizza:outside of the Chicago area ( we are from Chicago). I have to say their pizza is now our favorite. It was so good we got it twice within three days. Writing this review two months after our visit because my wife had just asked when we can go back. The young woman behind the counter was also fantastic. It's a MUST stop!! read more

All right, probably the most expensive pizza I've had, but... It was worth it. The crust is excellent, and you can actually taste the deliciousness of the ingredients in each bite. We had the Butcher (all near), and not a complaint anywhere! Well done BackCountry!!! read more

Came in pretty much on closing time, or even a little bit after, looking for one veggie slice, on my way home, but there were only two meat slices there... SO the owner offered to do me up an entire small veggie pizza, custom. He could have legitimately said we're closing. But took my hunger on as his problem to solve. Which felt so kind. This was my first time ordering take out from BackCountry Pizza. The guy behind the counter was a little rude and curt but I figured he was maybe the owner? Or he thinks he's the big man on campus, if you know what I mean. While I was trying to decide on what to order, I asked him about gluten free crusts, he spoke so fast I had to ask him repeat it three times and blurted "I only have three large and two small which is one large". I now understand what he was saying to me! Another person approached the counter, she seemed as if she was a regular, as he called her "sweetie", I only received... "what can I get you?" She asked if there was any pizza coming out of the oven. The guy behind the counter screamed to the team working what was heading out. One person said, I can't remember which pizza then another person said another pizza. The guy then scream back to the pizza makers, "COME ON PEOPLE!! Get it straight! I need to know what's being made". Not very nice to the team! Again, big man on campus attitude! Not impressed by him at all!! Overall, the pizza was good with great tasting ingredients. Baked to perfection. I would go back regardless of the rude guy. All I know is that I'm happy I don't work with him but I felt bad for the people that need to work with him! FYI... This is the best pizza!! The sauce is so tasty, dough is @#$%^& spot on, and toppings are freshly cut. They should open a restraunt in Lake Tahoe so we can hike, camp, mountain bike and eat!! We were staying at a hotel that was about 10 minutes away and we were craving pizza. So this spot seemed ideal to get a pizza ordered and take it back to our room. It's located in a small shopping center and parking was fairly easy to find. We ordered the pizza and waited approximately 15 minutes for it to be ready. You can tell the pizza is done right when you see it being prepared in front of you with fresh ingredients. There are a couple tables for sitting or you can sit at the bar and watch your pizza being prepared. The staff was friendly and helpful. They had some good music playing as well. We got back to the room and had the pizza and I thought it was great! We had pizza and beer while watching the game. The price was decent. If you're looking for a good pizza spot then stop by here and you wont be disappointed. read more

Service: try harder We ordered for pickup and did so an hour before closing. Upon arrival, all the staff were jamming out to loud music and cleaning. We paid via debit and the guy who was helping us out went back to cleaning after handing us the machine and didn't even ask us if we wanted our receipt. Overall, they looked unprofessional and service was not great. Food: not that great We ordered a Hawaiian and a feta spinach pizza. The Hawaiian was decent except the pineapples were not evenly distributed which could be easily overlook if not for the terrible service and burnt pizza. Our other pizza was burnt which meant we had to tear off the bottoms of it. Overall, not impressed at all. Food was below average and service was rather terrible. Would not recommend. read more

The best pizza! I can't believe I've been coming to Pemberton all this time and never tried it until now. Delicious dough, plentiful and fresh toppings, great atmosphere and friendly staff. Seriously can't say enough good things about the quality of the pizza! I'll be back soon! PS ignore all the old, negative reviews (anything prior to 2018). This restaurant is under new ownership and has been remodeled and operates differently than the old pizza shop that was here. The gentleman working there told me this today. That's probably why I haven't come here before... due to all the old negative reviews. However, rest assured that this is a great place to eat! My husband and I are from Vancouver and have eaten pizza all around the world. The pizza here is at least as good as the best pizzas we've had in Vancouver, New York City, LA, various places in Italy.. etc. Try the vegetarian pizza. Soooo good!!! read more

The pizza's here are pretty tasty, and not too oily. They have a nice range of toppings and selections. There are only 3 small tables in the restaurant so it's mainly for takeout and delivery. My complaints are mainly that the pizzas (the sauce?) were really salty and we were all pounding water all night. They also ignored our extra topping requests. They thoughtfully provide a time estimate of 30 mins, but it took 45. I guess they're minor niggles, but important for takeout pizza. read more

Pizza was pretty solid. Real good crust. Toppings were generous. Definitely a take out place. Three tables and napkins make up the dining experience. While we were there we saw a few people order oven roasted subs and they looked really good! It was solid and we would eat here again if we were passing through Whistler area. read more

Worst. Pizza. Ever. The service sucks too. The first time I went in I was picking up some food to bring home for myself, my bf, and a friend. When I ordered the guy working assumed the food was all for me and laughed and made rude remarks about how much I eat with a weird look on his face as he was looking at my body up and down. I was offended and this guy thought it was funny. What a jerk. He didn't want to give me a box to put it in either. What was he expecting me to carry it in? He even said himself that it was "ALOT of pizza!" so a box should be a given. I had to ask for one and he was like "A box? Pfft. You want a box now too? We charge MONEY for those, ya know, but I GUESS I'll let you have one since I'M SUUUCH A NICE GUY!" in a really exasperated tone and rolled his eyes and then made a few other comments about how nice he is. He's not and I would have rather paid extra for the stupid box than have to listen to him talk about how nice he is over and over. I wound up leaving annoyed, offended, and frankly grossed out by the way he was looking at me up and down and to top it off the pizza was really bad. I tried to give this place another chance. The second time I went in the service wasn't quite as bad but it still wasn't good and the pizza was even worse. My friend said her meat tasted like old bologna and the dough wasn't properly cooked. I had the ham and pineapple and chicken bacon ranch. It was by far the grossest pizza I've ever had. How can you screw up pizza so badly? The sauce, the crust, the cheese, the toppings......everything about it tasted terrible. I couldn't even eat it and hot sauce couldn't save it. It went in the trash. I'm never going back. read more
