We came here on our trip because my mom, who was with us, is Italian and the Old Spaghetti Factories mizithra cheese and browned butter pasta is her favorite (it's mine too!). I accidentally mixed up our reservation and came a night early, and despite a line, the still seated our party of five. The manager was super helpful and I was very grateful for his flexibility despite this being my error. We ordered our usual mizithra cheese and browned butter pastas which were exactly what we expected and love, and the kids ordered spaghettis which they devoured despite being upset they didn't have their usual options they have in US. The service hear was very good and the ambiance of the restaurant is very much like the other locations I've been to, with a very family oriented vibe. The bread and salad came out, in line with expectations, the salad was a bit brown and likely comes from the same salad bag that they use for public schools, you know that mix with the shredded carrots in it. But it was fine. The bread was hot and good and plenty of butter provided. Our table had a mixture of chicken tenders, fettuccine, as well as the manager's special with meat sauce and mizithra cheese. If you love good food and quick service, then you should absolutely stay away from here. Didn't eat the whole day before coming here and even then I was disappointed. 2 hour wait to get a table just to sit there for another hour hungry. Had to ask for bread (that comes with the meal) 3 different times, the restaurant was packed because they overbooked tables without enough servers. The bread was warm and with the butter garlic hit the spot. My blackberry cream soda barely had a flavor, tasted like sparkling water. Then came the included soup which tasted like warm salsa. Calamari was fine but came with a taziki sauce instead of lemon aioli for some reason. And finally for the main course I got burnt breaded chicken. Spaghetti and sauce was disappointing. Italy would be waging war on Canada right now if they tried this food. Overall disappointing but cheap (ended up being $20 US). After walking around the village looking for something to eat we decided to try this place out despite the reviews and I will have to say the food was mediocre and the service was very slow overall. Upon arrival we were seated very quickly and the place was fairly empty we were then given a small cup of water immediately and that would do it for the water refills as we were not given any more water until I asked for it after we were done eating so to say the least I was very disappointed on that , Now off to the food the kids ordered chicken wings which they both really liked so that was good but I decided to order the spaghetti with meat sauce and in all honesty it was just bland no great taste or anything special at all , I would've been fine with sauce out of the jar from the store. While visiting Whistler, my daughter had a hankering for Italian food. And this joint was within the Village, steps from our hotel. After a day of ziplining, we were tired and hungry, and we're so glad we picked OSF. The bread and butter is addictive, to say the least. The steamed mussels and mozzarella triangles were a perfect start, followed by a huge tasty portions of Pesto Linguine and Seafood Linguine Marinara. We had a nice meal here our first night in Whistler. I'm glad we weren't scare away by the overall rating. Everything is run very efficiently due to how the menu is structured. Basically you choose your italian entree and you get salad, tea or coffee, and ice cream with it. There is free bread for the table. Soda is not included in this deal, which would have been nice. Located in the Village at Whistler this place Carrie's the standard ambiance that I've come to know of Old Spaghetti Factory restaurants. Much like any other business, there are staffing shortages. The staff there were fantastic. They'd get 5*'s just for their positive attitude. The food on the other had was a bit of a disappointment. Wife had standard spaghetti and meatballs. No flavor in the sauce. I tried one of the meatballs and it seemed like there was no seasoning in it. The Costco Italian meatballs in the freezer section are far superior. I had the chicken parmigiana. Dried out and not much flavor. Must have been a bad day in the kitchen? The best part of the meal was the spumoni ice cream. This met my expectations for flavor and what I know of Old Spaghetti Factory restaurants. Bonus, our server gave us a great tip for a hike just outside the village. I was here with my family on January 26th (Sunday) right after 2 hr drive from Vancouver. OSF seemed like a perfect spot since most places in Whistler are so expensive so why not. Great ambience for family and friends, but not much I can say about their food though. Free bread was good. We had a refill to stuff our tummies while waiting for food. We ordered Bam Bam Shrimp ($9.50), Mama Pulosi's Lasagna ($17.95), Seafood Fettuccine Alfredo ($17.95) and Chicken Parm ($20.25) they were all average. BamBam Shrimp was so small. Minestrone tasted cheap and gross. Everything else was tasteless. They looked good in the beginning, but tasted mediocre to us. My icecream was freezer burnt as well it was icy. There was a table of Chinese family behind us and they hardly ever touched their pasta. It sucks seeing the waste, but I could tell they didn't like the food at all. We were a group of 9 and the restaurant managed to accommodate us even with covid precautions in place. They set up two tables next to each other and kindly asked us not to walk over to the other table. We were close enough to make some small conversation between the two tables. The food quality is not the best of the best out there for Italian cuisine. However, it is great for those who have a budget. The entrees include an appetizer (soup/salad), dessert and tea/coffee at an affordable price. We ordered steamed mussels to share. Unfortunately, it was the worse steamed mussels I have eaten in years. There was barely any meat in many of the mussels and the meat tasted dry. There was also not much white wine and tomato broth left to dip bread in. The clam chowder was much better and tasted as what you would expect from a chowder - creamy, soft potato bits and clams. I ordered lasagna for my entree. It tasted homemade and I really enjoyed it. There was a decent amount of meat sauce and cheese between the layers of pasta. Lastly, I finished my meal with spumoni ice cream. I skipped the tea or coffee in the end because I was too full by then. Service was good throughout the meal. There were hand sanitizers at multiple locations, but staff did not enforce customers to hand sanitize prior to entering the restaurant. However, all staff including kitchen staff had face masks on. Even during Covid the presence of the greeter was there letting us know about washing our hands and giving us a table away from other guests. I ordered Chicken Parmigiana with Fries and the dish was delicious! My wife ordered baby back ribs with spaghetti sauce. For starters we both got Clam chowder and the texture of this was very good. Lots of clam, mushroom and bread chunks. We love The Old Spaghetti Factory, especially in Whistler! We try to come here yearly when we come to ski in December. The Old Spaghetti Factory is popular for a few reasons: 1) it's a great value in Whistler and 2) the food is simple and healthy, and is served in generous portions. We brought friends here (who after visiting in summer for a few years, had never stopped here) and they loved it. My browned butter with Myzithra cheese spaghetti was good as ever (though the server was not aware this used to be called Spaghetti a La Homer on the old menus). One of our dining companions is a fan of Pasta Carbonara (he's lived in Italy) and found the version at this Old Spaghetti Factory to be quite good. Quite the compliment! As always, we loved the hot bread and two different kinds of butter, garden salads, and spumoni after the meal.
