This is the best local restaurant! All the food we have tried is consistently delicious and all the servers are so kind and accommodating...especially Ashley! Was surprised at how busy this place was on a Wednesday night but that is just a testament to how good the food and service are! We were in Fallbrook this past weekend, and we needed someplace nearby to grab a quick lunch. My wife and I decided to give Backdraft a shot. I am gald we did, because the food was delicious! We got the blazin' bacon (candied bacon) as an appetizer. It was good, but honestly, it was a little too sweet for my taste. For our lunch we ordered the CPR chicken sandwich with grilled chicken and the parmesan bread. I don't know how they made a chicken sandwich taste so good, but they did. I am not in Fallbrook very often, but Backdraft is going to be my new go-to from now on when I am up there. read more

I went with some friends there for lunch. This is a new restaurant that opened a few months ago and some friends had said they had eaten here and they said it was pretty good. My friends are planning to go on a vacation in a few weeks to the South Pacific, New Zealand and Australia, so it was a chance to just hang out and have a good meal. They're watching all the Lord of the Rings movies before they go because it was filmed in New Zealand. When we got there, the water department was laying new pipes across the driveway, parallel to Thoroughbred Lane, so we had to wait for the flagman to let us through since there was only one lane. The area is growing very quickly and an upgraded water system is needed to handle the needs of the new homes and businesses. The parking lot was pretty full near the restaurant at lunchtime, so I parked a little ways away. I probably could have parked closer in a stall between two other cars, but I'm always afraid some person might ding my door, so I usually park farther away even if it means walking a hundred more feet. A lot of people drive full-sized trucks in this area, so you always need to watch out. When we got inside, there was no one to greet us, but a waitress, who must've seen us come in, came over and told us to find a table anywhere we wished. About half the tables were taken, and some were high tables and others were regular low tables. After a minute or so of weighing the options, we decided to sit at a higher table adjacent to the bar. Luckily, the chairs there were also higher than the other chairs, so we could sit comfortably. This place looks like it has has lots of different kinds of beers on tap. There was a chalkboard behind the bar with the names of various craft beers, some IPAs and other Lagers. The waitress was very friendly and asked if we wanted any beers and offered us free samples of any of the beers we thought we might like to try. We said that we didn't want any beer, so she brought us all waters in small, square-shaped glasses. The kind glasses of you might get for some kind of cocktail or mixed drink. The glasses didn't really hold a lot of water, but the waitress was always there to refill them when necessary. We looked over the menu and eventually decided on burgers and a sandwich. Many of the items were named after stuff you might see at a fire station, which was a little ironic because as we were driving to restaurant, there was something on fire on the top of the hill south of highway 76 and there were a few firetrucks going by with their sirens blaring. I thought it might be a house, but my friends said there weren't really any houses up there, so maybe it was a truck or some kind of farm equipment. While we couldn't miss the huge plume of black smoke, and even saw some flames flickering upwards, we couldn't really tell what was burning. We got our food and it was really good, at a decent price, with excellent service. When we left, the fire up on the hill was out. I found that a large black Dodge Ram pickup, that was raised up a little to accommodate larger tires, had parked right next to my car, but there was no damage on my car's side next to that truck, so all is good. read more

dropped in twice.... same result... my perspective is one of a patron that prefers a bar seat... on both visits, the limited bar seating was occupied (not completely) by obvious employees which both limited seating options, and more importantly contributed to the "high school" ambiance..... both greeting/acknowledgement and ordering times were were absolutely compromised by this dynamic,,,, As a person with time served in the industry, (unfortunately i am acutely aware of tempo and attentiveness}, that being said the gal seated next to me was subject to the same showboating and house gossip that i was as well as having to address her tardy entree no less than three times. After my food was dropped, it was easily 3 min before the bartender that was less than four feet from me had to finally be interrupted during the "great cocktail shaking event" to let him know i was without necessities for my meal. ....Great potential. but seems like the leash is a little too long for the "kids" on their payroll. We returned to Backdraft to try dinner and see their expanded menu (with more options to be added in the future). My husband went with the chicken sandwich and I ordered a pizza with blazin' bacon and crumbled blue cheese on thin crust. Might be my favorite pizza I've had in years! Great sourdough crust. They have an extensive wine list - just be sure to look at the menu as they have a wide range of prices. We started with one glass that ended up being 16 dollars and then realized there were several good options in the 7 and 10 dollar range. So nice to have so many choices! One recommendation I have for the business - during dinner service and/or on days when it's not a 'big game' day, mute the TVs and play some background music. Tbh with several TV's around the room, the volume on each is low anyway - any louder would be too much and could drive people away, but right now if you aren't right under them you can't hear the specific one you may want to anyway so it's kind of a waste and annoying to people sitting under the tv (who can't even see it) and those in the middle that can hear several different ones. Some music would liven up / class up the vibe. Ohhhh and I hope someday you guys do brunch :). That would be awesome for our neighborhood. read more

Small little hole in the wall. The interior is filled with TV's and they were playing all sorts of sports. The bar is full and to my surprise they had Moose Drool beer from Montana. The Brussels sprouts were great. The Mac Daddy burger was ok, but the Mac tasted a bit old. The restroom was clean, but the toilet didn't flush so the smell wasn't amazing.
