My daughter's favorite chicken tenders in all of Central Florida. In Hollywood Studios next to Star Tours. I had the chicken bowl, very tasty, but not very filling. The blueberry slushie was yummy and for dessert we had the Star Wars cupcake. They have surprise fillings inside. Ours was red icing. Hard to find a set and slower service, place a mobile order to speed things up!

Backlot Express is always a must do based on their healthy options (actual vegetables in the park) and their portion sizes (legitimately... get the kids portion... I swear it is still a portion bigger than what you need) BUT... we were here for Jollywood Nights.. and the food was even better. Best food for the holiday celebration. Burnt end Mac & Cheese with Fried Onions, Brussel Sprouts that were delightful crisped and coated, a holiday meatloaf hamburger that had a fun onion jam... AND the holiday bread pudding with dark chocolate and cherries. The staff was so accommodating. We were in, ordered, served, and seated within a few minutes. Plus the theming is next level. Like you are legitimately at a backlot of a studio and Indiana Jones has his equipment everywhere for the next stunt. Ample tables too!!

I really quick place in Disney to get a snack or light snack or meal. Self-serve drink dispensers and the fries are really good. Has indoor and outdoor seating as well. Not too terribly expensive.

Southwest Chicken Salad and Gingerbread Cheesecake

Backlot Express is located outside Indiana Jones. With an interesting array of food items, online ordering, plenty of seating, and bathrooms right around the corner, it is always a fabulous one stop shop for us. The Southwest salad with chicken really elevated a typical entree. The meat was a nice combination of dark and light pieces. It as flavorful and moist. The bed of lettuce was topped with roasted corn, tomatoes, pickled onion, and roasted pumpkin seeds. The cherry on top was the creamy and tangy jalapeño lime ranch dressing. It was really well balanced with lots of great texture. The star of the show however was the gingerbread cheesecake on a vanilla cookie with milk chocolate ganache, dulce de leche whipped cream, a gingerbread chocolate man, with a sprinkle of crispy pearls. Not only was it beautiful to behold, but the cheesecake filling was smooth and had just the right ratio of warm spices. The crust was nice and buttery with a good crunch. And I really enjoyed the contrast of the pearls for some texture. But as with all cheesecakes, it is best to share because they can get heavy on the palette after a few bites. Overall, with quick service, a unique variety of items to order from, and an idealistic location, this is one of my preferred quick stop shops at Hollywood Studios.

If you want to spend your money on a plate of white rice, terrible customer service and unhappy employees. $28 for two of these rice bowls with barely anything tofu in them and no way to order a side of tofu either

Due to technical difficulties, our reservation at Sci-Fi Drive In restaurant was canceled. So we came here, since the food never disappoints. Neither does the service. We ordered on the app, and our food was ready when we checked in. The two ladies who helped us were friendly. Husband had the bacon cheeseburger and fries. He was happy with his meal. No complaints. I had the Cuban again, and this time I got the plantains. I thoroughly enjoyed both. The restaurant is like a Hollywood back lot area, functional and comfortable. The seats are padded and the wooden tables are cleaned by efficient staff. There is also outside seating, at plastic looking tables and chairs. It's too hot to eat outside - 85° on 9/25/24. This is our go to lunch or dinner place for its good staff & food and reasonable prices.

I thought that the backlot express was great! I had a tofu bowl that was very flavorful and hit the spot for dinner. My family and I also split the Wookie cookie. The cookie portion of it was tasty, but I didn't love the middle cream filling as much, but I tend to not like cream desserts. There was plenty of seating in our food came out quickly after doing mobile order. My kids had some chicken strips and they also enjoyed them as well. My husband had the chicken version of the bowl that I had and he thought it was really good. I think this is a solid option while spending a day in Hollywood Studios.

Well, usually when we are in a hurry we stop here. Today took so long, as a cast food, took about 35 min between pay and wait to pick up. Fries were good, one of the burguers we ordered with pulled pork, but it was too much, to sweet too.

Backlot Express serves up exactly what you'd expect from theme-park fare--nothing fancy, but it hits the spot when you need some reliable chicken tenders. The themed warehouse-style setting, complete with movie props and covered seating, adds a neat nostalgic touch for classic Hollywood Studios. It's reliable and efficient--especially useful when you've got kids or need to use mobile ordering during a busy park day. The indoor dining area with air conditioning and shaded outdoor tables makes it a convenient refuge when the Florida heat gets intense. That said, while the food is consistently okay, it's unremarkable. It doesn't feel like a culinary destination so much as a solid fallback when you're hungry and options are limited. Overall, Backlot Express is average theme-park fare--not bad, not mind-blowing--but dependable enough when you just need a quick, familiar meal without the frills.

Food was sooo good and fresh and totally hit the spot! Very needed after a great day at Disney. We ordered ahead which was totally the move and it was super fast service! The vibe was great and we loved it!

The line here took forever just to order, and then I had to wait a bit for my food to be ready. However, there's plenty of seating which is nice and the food was pretty good. They had lots of options, including vegan options, so it's not bad for a Disney meal.

Though there are so many seats you might have to fight to get one! Grab a seat and mobile order here. My favorite is the Cuban. Two people can easily share this sandwich (and many other entrees) and the prices aren't bad for Disney

A quick service spot in Hollywood Studios that has mainly burgers and sandwiches. There was also some rice bowls so my friend got the teriyaki chicken bowl but she found it too be a bit too sweet and just alright. I got the cuban sandwich which looked great but it didn't have much filling. Most of it was in the middle of the sandwich so by the end, it was just bread. However, the bites that had all the filling - ham, pulled pork, cheese, pickles - was great. The burgers had lovely buns that were soft but still held together well. The patties were just alright but I think the smoked BBQ pulled pork burger is the way to go. It was the best thing we got. It was a burger patty topped with pulled pork and slaw, well worth it! The pulled pork was juicy and the slaw was refreshing in contrast to all the meats. There's also plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors so I'd say it's a solid spot for a quick meal in between attractions.

Happy Father's Day to all the dads out there!…read more My family and I had the pleasure of celebrating Father's Day brunch at Summer House on the Lake, and it was the perfect way to spend the holiday. While we're already familiar with their incredible cookie and bakery counter, this was our first time experiencing brunch, and it did not disappoint. The restaurant itself is absolutely beautiful, with a bright and welcoming atmosphere that feels both relaxing and upscale. Our server, Andrew, provided excellent service throughout the meal and helped make the experience even more enjoyable. I started with a Mexican Mocha, which was fantastic and exactly what I needed to kick off the morning. One thing I really appreciated was that our son's food arrived first, allowing him to dig into his blueberry pancakes topped with fresh blueberries and strawberries right away. My wife loved her strawberry waffles, and I enjoyed the brunch special featuring banana pancakes. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. As a dad, being able to celebrate Father's Day with my wife and son is something I never take for granted, and Summer House on the Lake provided the perfect setting for making those memories together. We also discovered the rewards program for the Lettuce Entertain You Restaurants family of restaurants, which was an added bonus. Between the delicious brunch, amazing cookies, and outstanding service, we'll definitely be back. Next time, we'll have to experience the dinner menu. An extra perk was visiting Disney Springs in the morning before the crowds arrived. It made for a much more relaxed experience. Here's a toast to all the dads out there--and to Summer House on the Lake for helping make Father's Day a memorable one. This Yelp Elite dad definitely approves!

We got seated 15 minutes before our reservation time which was perfect!

I've come here for my birthday. I already have plans for a visit when my family gets here in two weeks. Obviously, the food is phenomenal. I usually get Art's Famous Fried Chicken, which they say is Buttermilk-brined for 24 hours then and then flash fried. I have a severe shellfish allergy, and they're always very cautious. No matter who the server or floor manager is. Typically, it's served with creamy mashed potatoes, but I usually swap it out with Momma's Mac and Cheese. I've also had the Smothered Chicken, Bee Haven Fried Green Tomatoes, and the Skilled-fried Chicken Paillard, which is what most of the staff recommends as their favorite dish. And you always have to get a cheddar drop biscuit. That's a non-negotiable. This restaurant is very popular and often gets quite busy, so I recommend to make a reservation as soon as you're ready. But the busyness of the restaurant won't matter once you take a bite. The food is the ambiance and changes everything. Just trust me.

In our defense, we'd never been to Disney Springs before and we're not really Disney people, so we were absolutely BLOWN away by the intensity of the area. If you're using Uber or Lyft, be prepared...the location is smack dab in the middle of everything, and you'll likely be walking about half a mile from either drop off point. There was a line wrapping around the building, and by the time we reached the counter we were starting to sweat. But I have to give credit where it's due: the staff was incredible. The girl working the door, our cashier (who I later saw busing tables), and the various employees checking on guests EVERY . SINGLE . EMPLOYEE. was hustling their face off!! The line never stopped. It was absolute chaos in there, and I was genuinely floored by how hard everyone was working. We ordered the trio sliders. The pulled pork was okay but desperately needed sauce; the Carolina sauce helped a lot. The Nashville hot chicken slider was just okay. The standout was the brisket slider. I'd absolutely order that again. My favorite thing we ate, though, was the wings. Sweet with a nice little kick, those were fantastic. We also tried the waffle fries, which were pretty ordinary and a little over-seasoned. The coleslaw was very unique, almost sour. We ordered the burnt ends as well, and this is where I feel obligated to defend Polite Pig a little. We've been eating some really great barbecue lately, so maybe my standards were high, but the burnt ends just didn't hold up for me. They were extra chewy and heavily sauced. My boyfriend thought they were perfectly fine. My bigger issue was that most of the food just wasn't hot. If everything had come out piping hot, it would have elevated the meal considerably. Drinkwise, my boyfriend got the Old Fashioned and loved it. I ordered the batched vodka lemonade and had no idea it was carbonated. Had I known that, I never would have ordered it. It was not for me. My biggest knock, unfortunately, is the bathroom. Back in 2019, I used an outhouse on a hiking trail in Utah. This bathroom was worse. Dirty diapers were literally topping the garbage can. Since the restrooms are individual and co-ed, there was a urinal in mine, and maybe it's because I'm a woman, but the smell was absolutely awful. Above all else, the floor was covered in urine. It was atrocious. At the end of the day, all my love goes to the hardworking employees. They were the stars of the show. The food was decent, and there were definitely a few standouts, but for me it just wasn't worth the stress and chaos that comes with the Disney Springs location. But if you're already there then dine on!! So if you go, do yourself a favor: use the bathroom beforehand.
