Mac & cheese has a ton of flavor. I'm very picky. I need to be super cheddar tasting and this is it.

Absolutely the best brisket I've ever had. The prices are amazing and they should be way higher based on this amazing quality. Can't wait to eat more here.

Staff were helpful / very friendly. Amazing Brisket I will definitely travel back worth the trip !

The food tasted so scrumptious! The service was fantastic! And the mashed potatoe salad was just so amazing! It's insanely good! And also the workers there are so nice! Never judge a book by its cover!

Garden salad was the best thing I had from here. Sloppy cow was good. Smoking chicken wrap was ok. Overall I felt everything needs a little bit more flavor.

Great entrees, bad appetizers…read more Little marks is our stop for a quick casual bite around Vernon. Enjoy the smoked meats, sides are okay, but the quality is usually really good. My review this time is highlighting my biggest gripe. We got a half-rack of ribs, Santa Fe egg rolls, and a meatloaf sandwich. For 16 bucks, we get two egg rolls put on a giant plate with arugula put on the bottom to try and disguise the shame. This isn't the first time we've had issues with the portion size of an appetizer at this location either. I know appetizers are not entrees, I know that some things take more time to craft and prepare. If the portion is going to be small and expensive, use smaller plates, make sure the flavor is strong, and make them thick. Even if they gave us 3 and put them in a fry basket would've been a better showing than an awkward attempt of an egg roll salad In contrast, for 18 bucks I get this beautifully smoked meatloaf sandwich with a slew of caramelized onions and a perfectly placed breaded mozzarella to give that epic cheese pull. Along with sweet potato fries and Cole slaw and a pickle. We complained about the egg rolls and got them removed from the bill, so my review score doesn't reflect them. The entrees are stellar, the sides are afterthoughts, and the price is appropriate for the quality. They need better attention to detail on their sides to make them that truly epic bbq spot, and if they do that they can be one of the greats. But I'm using this review to hopefully pass on some knowledge to those planning to swing by. Stick to the entrees and you'll have a great experience. Stray from the mains, and your experience can vary.

Tried again, not bad but not great…read more It's been a while since I tried this place. Decided to come by during a random weekend lunch to give their food another try. Server was friendly and very casual. I asked for her recommendation and was told their grilled chicken sandwich was pretty good. Strange given they use to be really proud in their bbq, but trusted the server and got the west coast chicken sandwich and swapped the bun for a lettuce wrap. Also got the tumbleweeds with a side of spicy aoli to dip in. The food came out after a little bit of a wait, but not too long. Took pics and dug in. The tumbleweeds were cooked well but really lacked in any flavor beyond crispy breading. It really needed a dipping sauce to give it any real flavor. The spicy aoli had a little zip to it and helped though. The chicken was seasoned well but overcooked. The Swiss cheese didn't really add much so I scraped it off. Bacon wasn't crispy, was welded to the Swiss cheese so I just scraped it off with the cheese. The heirloom tomatoes and pickled red onions were very good. Lightly salted and sweet tomatoes and briny sweet onions really complimented the chicken and were welcome additions. Avocado was okay, fresh and presented well. The food wasn't bad, but it did have some stumbles. It's a great venue space, one of the few country bars in the state and is decked out well to be the primo spot for county. It's not a great restaurant, but it's serviceable food and a nice staff. If it can really sell the events and nail those, then the food can be simpler and still do well. For now though, it's okay.

Here is my reasons behind a 4* star review... 1. It's clean and nice inside. I like the fact that it even has an old Simpsons arcade game and looks like you can play table games in there as well. 2. The owner was a nice dude and he makes everything fresh. He was waiting tables and cooking. He takes pride in what he does and I appreciate that. 3. They offer vegetarian options which for me, is always a reason I will try a place. I had both vegetarian tacos and they were pretty tasty (the broccoli one wins for me! Tofu one pretty good too tho) BROCCO TACO Fire-roasted broccoli, garlic black bean purée, chipotle tomato jelly, micro greens, and toasted sesame seeds. $7 and THAI TOFU TACO Crispy tofu, homemade peanut sauce, "trimchi," toasted sesame seeds and scallions.* $7 4. (BATATAS BRAVAS Hand-cut, twice-fried garlic cilantro french fries. Served with kimchi ketchup and smack sauce) $9. The fries were good but not my favorite. They a little too greasy, I liked the garlic, it's very garlicky but for me I like extra garlic. It came with the tiniest dipping sauce, which i wish there was more of... 5. My fiancé got a quesadilla (RAJAS QUESADILLA Strips of creamy peppers and onions grilled with our 7-cheese blend in a 12" flour tortilla, topped with cotija cheese. Served with sour crema and salsa $11) which was pretty good but small for the price. We both love quesadillas and I would eat that again. 6. Overall I liked No coast. It was a little too pricey for me which is what will keep me from visiting frequently. $14 for 2 small tacos that were gone in very literally 2 bites, I was actually still hungry when I left. But prices are high everywhere and running a restaurant isn't cheap. If it was 3 tacos for $14 it would be easier to want to visit again. For almost $50 it was just a little too much for me. Either way, No coast is cooking fresh, and trying hard. It's worth it to give them a try.

Not sure if that was the telling sign but for a rainy Saturday afternoon I would expect someone in here. Few people did show up after I ordered so that was good. Looked over the menu and none of the apps really stood out so went with what I came here for which was the brisket. Ordered that with a side of beans, brussels sprouts and a key lime pie to finish off the meal afterwards. Nothing I had screamed I need to come back soon. The pastrami did look good in one of the pictures here on Yelp, and a couple of gentlemen who showed up later order chicken sandwiches and I overheard them saying they were chicken sandwich connoisseurs and it was very good. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing? I was happy about the service. Struck a nice conversation with the bartender about the music playlist and how pleasing it was to hear some tracks that really fly under the radar being played. Where do I start?! One thing I love about J Rego's is the quality of their menu; meals are always unique and truly make J Rego's stand FAR apart from other food spots in this part of CT. Yes, they offer the very best of your favorite restaurant classics, but they also add high-end, high-quality options that you cannot find anywhere else in the area. They do weekly specials (check their Instagram or call!) that always blow my mind. I literally stalk their social media each week waiting for their new options! Having J Rego's so close to home is a hazard for my self control!! And the Espresso Martinis?! Don't get me started! Delicious, high-class, and absolutely addicting. One VERY notable details about J Rego's: -- They have a FANTASTIC outdoor dining area. We enjoy it frequently in the summer, and they also set up a tent & space heaters for the colder months. Check their IG for live music on the weekends! Today, I sent my parents to J Rego's for a lunch date. They were BLOWN AWAY! It was definitely a home run recommendation. Tried again, great service but okay food…read more Decided to try them again. They had a brunch menu so I was intrigued to try some French toast. Was very quiet when I went there. Was seated at the bar, where the bartender was prepping for the days service. Asked for his recommendation and he said the burger was really good. Asked for a brunch menu and was told the brunch menu was their lunch menu. Later in the meal, the waitress informed the bartender that the brunch menu was delayed again because the person who developed it was out. So I was too early to get actual brunch. I got an orange juice and a burger with sautéed onions, mushrooms, and pepper jack cheese. Food came out in a reasonable timeframe. Took pics and dug in. As a burger, it was okay but wasn't executed correctly. The burger was a chunky grind of beef chuck, which was unseasoned. The bun was toasted but was just starting to go stale. So the edges were spongy and a tougher chew. The fries were lackluster. Standard bagged fries, limp and not very crispy. Their orange juice is also weirdly out of a can. The price of the burger with add ons and an orange juice was 24 dollars . I'm fine with this price so long as the quality can justify it. But it's missing the execution to justify the price. Everything needs to be dressed or seasoned even if it's just lightly. A tiny bit of salt to a tomato can make the difference between a watery slippery mess to a fruity, savory compliment to the meaty burger. I would also be remiss to ask if they could vary the grind of their meat to a mix of chuck, short rib, and brisket? Or add flavorings to their meat mix to help get more than just straight up ground beef. The bartender was very good about checking in and helping where he could. He saved the experience, but there was little he could do to fix the meal. It's probably a great place to drink, and if you're drunk you won't care about the food as much. So I'll say it's a great bar but not so great food. Go to drink, not to eat
