    Starved frog 1

They sent us a frog completely sick/emaciated. They don't respond to emails. I don't care about that. What they are doing to living creatures is heartbreaking and unacceptable. The frog didn't make it. Animals don't get like this in a 24 hour shipping timeframe. They need to be shut down. Do not support this business. So many reviews with same experience. Poor poor animals.

Sent me a malnourished dehydrated lizard died 10 days later. I've never seen a uromastyx baby in worse condition anywhere online. You should not sell hatchlings this young anyway they need to eat parents poop to establish a gut micro biome before selling!

Horrible company and business practices. I received a malnurished blue iguana and 13 dead tree frogs. The company basically refuses to do anything about it unless I pay them more money to ship live ones. I have photos and videos of the dead frogs and container they came in. It had ZERO holes for the frogs to get any air. The company basically suffocated them and now expects more money from me to make the situation right.

Rest in peace little Kratos and then he was placed back in the plastic to 'make sure he is actually dead' He was. Very dead.

We now (usually) go to Aquarium and Reptile Depot - we really enjoy the variety of fish but I have been more impressed with the helpful suggestions (without being judgemental) and answer to questions from all their staff. They even had some advice for our Chocolate desert millipede (thanks Bugtopia - kill me!). As this is a recently aquired past time - we are still new to fish and although we make mistakes, we appreciate that they are willing to discuss and suggest things as issues come up. It's a little farther from our house but well worth it. I've read some good and bad reviews and realize that everyone's experience can be different - but we have made MANY trips there as we fumble our way through aquarium and aquarium care, and I don't have any complaints. Props to all the staff that have had to listen to me fumble through things I've read online and then offered diplomatic suggestions on how I should approach fish care.

They not only had what I needed, but took the time to guide me through using it properly. That goldfish went on to live another eight years, and I've been a loyal customer ever since. They truly have just about everything I could need for both my aquariums and my bearded dragon. Most recently, I purchased a huge enclosure for my beardie from them, and they've even kindly taken in my pleco and MANY pleco babies when my fish apparently decided their aquarium needed to become a full-time breeding operation. One thing I've always appreciated is how they keep their animals. The aquariums with fish available for purchase are consistently clean and have plenty of plants, hiding spots, and enrichment. I've purchased fish here over the years and have never brought one home that had health issues. It's clear they take pride not only in their store, but in the care and environments they provide for their animals. After more than a decade of shopping here, I genuinely trust Aquarium Depot with my aquarium and reptile care. Their selection is fantastic, their knowledge has been invaluable, and they've consistently been there when I've needed help. Exactly what I want from a specialty pet store and an easy five stars from me.

The inside is very big and spacious, but you are immediately hit in the face with a very pungent smell when you enter. I'm not really sure what the smell was exactly, but we got used to it pretty quickly. We were greeted by a very nice gentleman with vibrant green hair who was very knowledgeable and helpful. He let me know some of the items I would need and which products were the best. We walked around a bit and checked out all of the critters - from snakes, to different types of lizards, to scorpions, tarantulas and even cockroaches! My daughter settled on a very cute 3-4 month old Bearded Dragon that we took home along with some essentials like a rock cave, fake plant, water and food dishes and even some Mealworms and Silkworms! The Serpentarium offers lots of different meal options for your critters as well - which is nice to know that it is a one stop shop! They carry the best brands for all of your tank needs as well. We were helped by another employee once it was time to check out and she was also very friendly and knowledgeable. The Serpentarium staff made me feel very comfortable with my purchase and answered all of my annoying questions with ease which I really appreciated. The Serpentarium will also take any surrendered reptiles as long as it is during operating hours which is nice to know that people have an option if they have no other choice. We will definitely be back to The Serpentarium to pick up more things for our new baby very soon! Check them out!

My mom and I each purchased some fish and I purchased some decor. It was below 50 the picture you see was taken after the doughnut one of the gentleman at this location saw my mom was in peril and quickly acted and had the other gentleman working in the store bring up his snack bag of powdered sugar donuts, which saved the day I was able to get my mom back on track and some real food in her afterwards, but these guys definitely go above and beyond firstly with an amazing store and secondly with generosity thank you folks so much. We will definitely be going back to the store, even though it's well out of our way it's nice to support businesses who support their community and strangers, especially in a time of need.

I also did not notice any dead fish, and the water in the tanks appeared clean. What concerned me was the setup of many of the tanks. When I walked in, particularly along the right side and walls, I noticed several tanks containing fairly large or numerous fish with what appeared to be little more than water and bare glass -- no substrate, plants, or places to hide that I could see. Several of the fish were bunched together in the corners. There were tanks toward the center with plants and more enrichment, so the difference was especially noticeable. I understand there may be reasons aquarium stores keep certain sales or holding tanks very simple, and I don't claim to know their individual care protocols. It was just surprising to see so many fish in such bare environments at a specialty aquarium store. I'm accustomed to seeing specialty stores provide more habitat and enrichment than the average chain pet store, not less. Overall, I wouldn't call this a terrible experience. The store was clean, organized, and the employees seemed pleasant. I simply left with some concerns about the fish environments I observed and would have felt much better seeing more hiding places or enrichment in the tanks.

We were greeted by the friendly lady staffing the store and refreshingly-cold AC as soon as we stepped inside. The store was very neatly stocked, which is always so satisfying to behold. It was spacious inside, with various feeder types available, including their patented Advanced Pole System. Even though each store is a franchise, this store still had most of the selection of seed that I was familiar with from the Arden location. It was interesting to note (after chatting with the owner of the Roseville store) that the stores do not share databases with each other, so my rewards at one store do not transfer to other branches of Wild Birds Unlimited. However, since I am a member of the Daily Savings Club, I still can save 15% on all food purchased at any WBU location. Regardless, this location was very clean, well-kept, and I am always happy to support a franchise that sells top-tier bird seed and feeders for my feathered friends. We dropped Tommy off for his grooming appointment as usual and headed home to wait for the call that he was finished. Not long afterward, the salon called to explain that while grinding his nails, Tommy had bumped his foot against the wall and landed directly on a skin tag. In a wildly unfortunate twist, because apparently a regular skin tag would have been far too simple, it was connected to an artery and began bleeding profusely. The salon team acted immediately. They bandaged his foot, transported him directly to Loomis Basin Veterinary Hospital, and contacted us so we could meet them there. When we arrived, they were already checking him in and making sure he received the care he needed. PetSmart placed the urgent care visit on its account and covered the entire cost without hesitation. Before leaving, the team even asked whether we wanted them to remain at the hospital with us during the appointment. That was far more than we ever would have expected. By that point, they had already exceeded our expectations by miles through their quick response, transparency, compassion, and willingness to take care of absolutely everything. Any business can provide good service when everything goes according to plan. You learn what kind of people you are truly trusting with your pet when something unexpected happens. This team treated Tommy with the same urgency, concern, and care that they would have shown their own pets, and that means more to us than I can adequately express. I wish I knew the names of every employee who helped so I could thank each of them personally. Brooke called today to follow up and ask how Tommy was doing, once again going above and beyond. We had booked the appointment with Koaleen, Tommy's favorite groomer, and I'm sure she also played a part in making sure our boy was taken care of. We were already loyal customers, but the way this team handled such a stressful situation has earned our loyalty for life. Thank you to everyone involved for acting so quickly, taking full responsibility, keeping us informed, and caring for Tommy Lee so genuinely. We could not be more grateful.
