Went to get some supplies for household pooch. Found a splurge worthy fit/bandana combo, some boredom buster toys which are super cute and reasonably priced. Healthy, food topper treat pouches for something special. Cleaning wipes in a great almond scent. Deodorizer mist I'm a fabulous basil scent. I really needed paw balm that helps give grip when walking and nothing accommodated that sadly. They have frozen treats and dog ice cream, which I'll get next time. They did have sample "dogchuterie" cups super cute. Check out was a nightmare as associate kept putting things in bag, taking them out, scanning again and again. Then I had to go get another item that had a tag on it instead of a store associate, which frankly I thought was rude. Not great customer focus. I seriously thought I was getting overcharged, thank goodness I didn't! Would I go back? Possibly. Was it good value for the haul? She started crying. She was licking her paw and exactly where they did her nails and I had to take my dog to the vet and it cost $400 and I'm on disability so now I'm not gonna have any food or medication for the rest of the month. read more

I want to recognize Priscilla (Prissy) she is a fantastic groomer. I bring my two kitties to her. They are both Persians,Sassette and Dante! Now Sassette is easy. She is a tabby Persian, small and delicate and is the sweetest cat and easy to Groom because she's so sweet and Prissy does a beautiful job on her! Now Dante is a beautiful, black Persian, Sassette's brother, BUT he is the opposite...He's got a bad temper he hisses at her ( well anybody) swipes at her with his paws, (but I must say he keeps his nails in and he only swipes with his paws BUT still he is a handful!!!Other groomers can barely deal with him...Basically, will only give him a bath, and that's it, because of his disposition, and being so difficult HOWEVER Prissy is wonderful with him, as difficult as he is!!! I am so appreciative for her working with Dante under these conditions , I am telling you that she is just the absolute best! She shampoos him trims his nails, gives him a sanitary cut, cleans his ears, trims him a little bit, because too much and he just goes crazy, (so my son and I trim him as best we can before we bring him to Prissy) I so highly appreciate and give Prissy a 10++ I also tip her extra for all of her extra care with him and I am so so so glad I found her ! I headed to Petco (first time at this location) and as soon as I entered I was immediately greeted by Isiah (this was the first time I've been greeted at a petco!) The store was clean, smelled fresh and each isle was organized and easy to locate what I was looking for. As I was shopping with Bruno and Lolita Boo Nate asked how I was doing and if I needed help finding anything. Nate offered the benefits and features of the petco program and took Bruno and Lolita Boos info so they can redeem points with each purchase! First time I've heard about this. The picture will speak for itself. On September 16th, 2023 I took my dog to the Petco groomer at 1917 Douglas blvd in Roseville CA. The groomer was completely negligent and sliced his tongue with scissors and my dog required an emergency surgery under general anesthesia to amputate part of his tongue as a result. The emergency veterinarian said they had never seen or heard of an injury like this before from a groomer. Management couldn't offer a logical explanation, and it's because this injury is illogical and insane. While Petco paid the medical bills, as is absolutely obligatory, they have offered nothing in compensation to my family besides crap items from the store like a dog cone! A dog cone for an oral injury. Perhaps so he doesn't lick his own tongue? How stupid. How would you feel if they did this to your family member? Beware this establishment and avoid it at all costs. Your dog might go in for a groom and come out mutilated. read more

I think this Petco is wonderful! The shelves are well stocked and they usually have what i am looking for. The staff is experienced and can answer questions. The store is usually busy, but not excessively, so there is always parking and the wait in line is not too bad. They have rabbit and kitten adoptions, plus a vaccination clinic which is easy to use and really convenient! read more

Took my large dog in for a nail grinding and was unfortunate enough to be matched up with a girl named Caitlin..she had a constant dirty look on her face and my already uncomfortable dog seemed even more stressed out being handled by her. Tell me why we paid 60$ Just for our dog to not look like how we wanted him to, we had asked for a bear look and they gave him back bald and did no trimming around his ears or tail. They didn't even bother explaining why they had to shave him, they just gave me him like if I asked for that look. Years ago, they did a nice job on our dog. However, the issue is communication. I made three appointments, each one was botched. The first one was my fault, I needed to get his shots updated. I took care of that and still had to wait 6 more weeks for an opening. When we arrived for the next appointment I was told no appointment existed for him. I made another one for 4 weeks ahead, and again, I was told there was no appointment. They could try to fit him in in a few hours. My pup is 13 years old and terrified of being locked in a cage. I wouldn't put him through that. I left a voicemail, tried to send an email or text to send them the appointment confirmation, but I got no response. They tried to set up yet another appointment but I don't trust them to take care of my puo. They need a better computer process and communication abilities. read more

I took my older dogs here for vaccinations. They were over due and I didn't have records. I was doing it because I needed to board them while I moved. The vet tech insisted on extending their vaccines out to 3 visits making it impossible for me to get them done in time. As an old dog who really only needed rabies it was unnecessary trouble and ecpense. I told the vet tech I needed them done in one day but she refused. Unnecessary caution causing me extra appointments right in the middle of my move. Then I tried to schedule a grooming appointment and Petco insists on a vet permission because my dog has idiopathic epilepsy (has mild seizures once every few years) So they need permission for a bath!?? They keep setting up road blocks for me and I have no idea why you would do that to a customer. You're not supposed to make it harder for me to give you my money, yet you do. I have a hard headed husky who is aptly named Korra after the Legend of Korra. Justin from Petco the dog trainer was amazing! He was supportive and patient from the start. Korra had a lot of difficulties and was expressing fearful behaviors to people who approached from behind. She was also reactiveness to dogs. Justin showed me how out-waiting her negative behaviors and being more stubborn than Korra and insisting she go through me to interact with her surroundings really helped. He also spent a lot of time breaking down Korra's dog psychology and how she views the world as a fearful place instead of a happy adventure. Justin explained the importance of using treats and treating to help Korra recreate her negative memories as positive ones. It took over 6 weeks, but we saw a huge improvement. She still had her stubborn moments when I would have to go back to basics but she waits now before plunging out past me, I can redirect her more easily and she doesn't jump up and down like a hyper psycho when she sees a dog now she looks at me for her treat and for me to give her directions like lie down. I highly recommend working with Justin! He is kind and he never judges you! He is supportive and he treats the dogs like they are precious. He is a great and patient teacher and you will enjoy watching your dog make huge improvements! read more

Did you know that Roseville and Sacramento have different tax rates? I learned this when making a return. The return was a bit complicated due to they had to make the amounts the same and they did. It was a pretty good return procedure. I didn't go beyond the cash registers, but from standing there it appeared to be a very clean place. The displays in the front were welcoming and inviting. I am not the type of person to leave poor reviews and I do understand the stress of this job but I have never experienced this poor of a service in my entire life. We have a 10 year old femal black lab that is the family dog and means the world to us. We had booked an appointment for this Petco for 4pm on a Friday. We brought our dog here at 3:50pm and she was checked in. They did tell us that there would be a wait time but since we booked an appointment in advance, we planned on even arriving early as per our previous experiences. My mom had then come into the store only to find out that our 10 year old lab had been kept in a crate for over 2 hours straight and they had not even begun the cleaning process. My mom was even able to see our dogs groomer Caitlin sitting when she visited (no, she was not on break). We then got a call saying that they were not able to blow dry her and to come pick her up wet. When we arrived, we expressed our concern and was told by the store manager herself that this is "normal". We have NEVER had an issue with our dog at the vet or any other groomer and were treated very poorly by the staff. The manager even told us to go to another groomer instead of explaining what had happened. When we finally got our dog in the car and headed home, she was very anxious and nervous looking. Again, I have never left a review like this before and do try to give people the benefit of the doubt but this was an AWFUL experience. PLEASE, if you love your pet like we do, SPEND YOUR MONEY SOMEWHERE ELSE. read more

I love this store. I get almost everything here for my 3 dogs 1 cat and 2 betta's. I even got my Betta fish there. Everyone is so nice and helpful. I happened to be looking to do some and I wasn't even sure how to start. I also needed a good summer coat for my border collie. The internet was surprisingly gray in this area. The groomer Ash,understood exactly what I was looking for. The price was fairly reasonable considering I was basically looking for a miracle. I got it. Ash did an amazing job.! We try calling and no one answers. There was another person there waiting from grooming too. I contact petco corporate and get told that they disabled the grooming direct line because it's too busy.
