So, I grabbed both bags. Turns out my two items were in one bag, and I grabbed someone's quesadilla..! Well, I'm super sorry I grabbed someone elses food, but I'm kind of glad I did, because the steak quesadilla is fabulous. I was thrilled to find a place that sells gorditas. However, it was served on a styrofoam plate. When I cut into it I realized the styrofoam melted into the Gordita because of the heat. I let the cashier aware of the situation. She seemed to be aware which makes me wonder why a restaurant would allow this. It's unfortunate because staff was friendly and the Horchata milkshake was unbelievable. I hope this is corrected because it may be a health violation. read more

I got very sick after eating a papa loca with birria and chips and salsa. Came down with Gastroenteritis and have been sick for a week because of their food. The food is good but I was really disappointed by a hidden policy during my last visit. If you pay with cash, Backyard Taco rounds your bill UP to the nearest nickel/dime without telling you in advance. When I noticed the "rounded" line item on my receipt and asked about it, I was told it's because they don't use pennies. While managing small change is understandable, forcing the customer to pay more without a disclaimer or a choice isn't right. If you're paying cash here, double-check your receipt. Management needs to put up a clear sign at the register or have the cashier disclose this so consumers can decide how they want to pay before ordering. Transparency matters! read more

Just opened 2 days ago- however, you would never know! I was ready for some expected "ironing out the kinks" experiences, but this place is running like a well oiled machine! The employees are very helpful and friendly. Food came out quickly and is delicious. Loved the garage door style that opens to the patio. Perfect weather to enjoy this. I was so hungry and the food smelled so good that I forgot to take any photos. They are selling shirts for $15 which gets you a free taco every time you go in- well worth it! I've been to this location about five times, and three out of five times my order has been wrong. Not to mention, one time in particular I went back to get my order fixed, went back home, and then opened my food and it was wrong again. I called, and the manager was very apologetic and even offered to deliver the correct order, but by that time it was already 10 PM. Mind you, this had already been about a two hour experience going back and forth and waiting, which was unnecessary, so I ended up receiving a refund. Years ago I installed a lot of their point of sale terminals, printers, kitchen printers, and servers. Backyard Taco ALWAYS took care of me and made sure I was fed while working and it's always been amazing so I was always happy when they called and needed me. Skipping forward in time I try and go when I am in the areas where they have one. One of my favorite things is how they cook the carne over an open flame grill as well as the salsa bar. I LOVE the habanero salsa (I hope they still have it) I think I will have to go back this weekend it's been a minute. BT has always been a favorite for me. 10/10 would recommend. read more

There were only 2 cars ahead of me in drive thru and I waited almost 30 minutes until I got to the window. It was at 3:15 pm. All I ordered was a carne asada burrito with cheese, that's it. When I finally decided to eat, the meat was tough and chewy. There was no bbq grill flavor either. This is the 3rd time that the quality of the food was unacceptable. I didn't even finish the burrito, I spit out more than I ate. Also the consistency of the salsas is off. It's different almost every time I order. It usually happens on the weekend. Service is terrific all the kids working in there are much more polite than any other restaurant nearby. I love their quesadillas, my favorite is the chicken. The birria tacos are also delicious. The horchata is delicious and the horchata shake is like nothing i've had before. The service isnt fast food type fast but thats because they arent fast food. This restaurant uses a charcoal fired grill, so the food takes longer because it is prepared better than just any fast food joint. Im really glad they opened up an authentic mexican food spot nearby. Service is horrible, for any spanish speakers watch out for gabriella she deliberately messed up our order even though we repeated it more than one time. food isn't so great either. the ambience felt heavy after our experience with the lady taking our order, i tried to excuse her thinking she was new and training but even if she was new doesn't give her the right to treat us in a bad way. thanks to a very nice lady, we didn't get her name, she mended things up a bit by making sure we received our correct order. she's the reason why i didn't give this place one star. read more
