I stay downtown at the Plaza monthly. Binion's is a very short walk from the Plaza. Binion's Cafe is in m opinion a great choice for anyone staying at the Plaza or an¥ of the hotels on Fremont Street. The menu is fairly extensive with something to please anyone. This is true of a lot of cafes. I ordered the the Binion's Famous burger with an additional charge to add cheese. No biggie. I'll tell you what. It was one of the best burgers I can recall having, and I've eaten them at pretty much all price points. It comes side options such as coleslaw, potato salad, and fries. I chose the potato salad, which was good. The service was great. It was friendly and on the ball. Shout out to my server, Loida who was great and is an asset to the place. I have been eating breakfast at Binyon's cafe for 40 years. Today I ordered the Gambler's token. Eggs, hashbrowns, two bacon strips, sausage patty and toast. What a pile of complete trash. Hashbrowns left on the grill for hours, marginally cold, nasty. The bacon and sausage both were very obviously precooked, and served at room temperature. The over medium eggs were raw. And the sourdough clearly had to be WonderBread attempting to enter the sourdough market. The service was fine. The food was pure dog rockets on a plate. read more

Binion's is located on Freemont Street. Binion's Cafe is a small part of it that has pretty good diner food. My parents and I shared fried fish, shrimp, fries and coleslaw. So I I was in a hotel casino and it was really early. I needed something that was really close so I could go ahead and get something to eat. Before I started working. Starting off, there was a line when I got there. It's not really big so I have to have people wait outside so they can free up tables. If you're super starving, this may not be for you. And there's no reservations. So it's basically first come first serve so just keep that in mind. The service wasn't amazing, it was all right. Nothing a ride home about. The ladies that served were nice though so that was good. Gridiron breakfast - The gridiron breakfast was passable to me. At best. I asked for eggs with cheese and the cheese wasn't melted anywhere in the eggs, it was just throwing on to let the residual heat cooked them. Pancakes were okay. Sausage was the sausage. It was a really basic breakfast and I probably wouldn't run to get it again I don't think. But like I said, I needed something before I had to log into work so it got me from A to B. Benny's club - Now the club was actually pretty decent. It was better than the whole breakfast plate that I had. It came with potato salad, the potato salad was not good at all, he didn't have any flavor to it whatsoever. I took about three or four bites of it and that was pretty much it. This is such a nice place to get a meal, relax in an old school café type of joint. Plus if you have a players card there are three meal options you can get at a discount. I think i so hehe at least once (usually twice) everytime I stay in downtown. Now I know this isn't a steakhouse or brewery, but that's not what we need here. Get a decent NY strip and eggs (my go to choice) or anything to enjoy a nice meal. Actually make the steak too my liking (by request) which some fancy places cannot get right anyway. Give me a short order cook who knows what they are doing any day over a chef who doesn't always get it right, and I'm content. Very weird experience! We live here in Vegas and decided to take our family to Fremont and found this cafe to eat lunch. We were a party of 6 (which I don't think is a huge party) and we were refused service! We were told they couldn't accommodate us. The person working the front asked the waitress a second time and was told no as she looked straight at us! She was a tall black woman with short hair. Even the woman who was trying to seat us looked at me like "I'm sorry" with a bit of embarrassment! I will NEVER step foot in this place again! There were open tables and when we asked about them we were told they were having a shift change so that was another reason they couldn't accommodate us! I missed Fremont Street and of course we went at night. While we were walking around we got hungry so we stopped in to binions. I got myself a binions card for the discount on the special. I had the turkey dinner and my friend had the cowboy cheese steak. The turkey plate was so good. The mashed potatoes and stuffing the whole plate was flavorful and had lots of turkey. Came here Friday morning before horror con began.... Well not really morning. 1130 but it's Vegas so we just woke up. Seated and greeted immediately. I ordered chicken Parmesan and the Mrs got pancakes. Again the servers are on their game. Quick! One of the servers warned us that none of the food is fresh.... And that she only eats the fruit. . The Mrs ordered an apple juice.... I attached a picture next to her water glass. The juice was 7 dollars - no refills. I get it though.... We are at binions on the strip. You gotta be ready to overpay and not let it bother you. The food was good... chicken parm was good and as expected. The Mrs said her pancakes were good as well. Price was 49 dollars before tip. A friend gave me an unused cash out ticket for the Golden Nugget good for 30 days only. I went to the GN and cashed the ticket and then crossed Fremont Street to Binion's. It's been many years since I've been in either place. I decided to have breakfast at Binion's Café where I self-parked. There was no one waiting when I got there. After being chastised by an employee for not getting in the rope line, I was seated at a two top between the front and rear dining areas. I was brought a menu, coffee, and water quickly. I ordered a build your own omelette--three eggs and two ingredients of my choosing. I got cheddar cheese and jalapeños. In a short time, the breakfast was brought. The omelette was pretty standard. It came with hash browns and toast. The hash browns and toast were what you would expect. My coffee was refilled when I asked. The café is OK. Nothing special. Service was good. I got my garage ticket validated and off I was. I know now because of the seating nazi where to get in a line properly the next time I go there which is a highly unlikely happening. read more

The meat is one of those frozen patties, nothing spectacular. The slaw had a good taste but it was made with lettuce instead of cabbage so it was all soggy. The hash browns were oily and had no crisp at all, the steaks were thrown on the grill with no seasoning, soggy fries... the list goes on and on! Nothing crazy, just some comments that were a bit off. I wouldn't care if the food was good but it was just okay. I had the Binions burger and the Ham steak and eggs. Everything was a bit dry but edible. I do like how they prepare their hash browns, they get a good crisp. However, their water has a noticeable flavor. I just know their ice machine is nasty without looking at it. Lack of basic maintenance there probably isn't a good sign for how they keep things in the kitchen. Went here with out of state family last week who wanted the "Fremont Experience." The server was great; the food was garbage. Had a cheeseburger that was a dried out, over cooked frozen patty. Fries came with it and a cousin ordered the same thing and she had twice as many fries as I did. Poor portion control and poor food. Way over priced. My wife had a French Dip with overcooked, dried out "beef" that all the dipping in the salty au jus couldn't moisturize. Nephew's wife had open faced turkey with turkey sliced like the stuff they'd give you in the school cafeteria the day before Thanksgiving. Way over priced. Actually, as a local, this is/was one of my favorite bars in the Vegas Valley. After this review, I'm probably not going to be welcome back, what a shame. While the restaurant itself could use a major update (not into some sterile new thing, but updated properly, it could have a lot going for it), the bar has a certain original charm that is hard to find anywhere else in Vegas. But, you can't win them all. Walked up, pulled up a seat. Bar tender asked what he could do for us (as though we were bothering him), and from that point couldn't have been more dismissive. Had enough energy to tell his life story to the patrons next to us, but couldn't be bothered to offer us a menu. We got the bar tenders attention as he was passing us up to talk to another patron (it's a small bar, maybe 7 seats?) and order an item that would have been on the menu. 20 minutes later we were told they didn't have that item, not in the beginning. We were offered fries instead; that took some time as well, to the extent that the inattentive bar tender noticed it had been a while. I left a 10% tip. Which I note only because it's gut wrenching for me to leave a small tip. Having been in the service industry for over two decades, that was the first time I've ever left that small an amount. I even leave tips at those do it yourself frozen yogurt places. Yikes. Btw, two drinks and fries and the bill was $50.00, not sure how much those fries were... Stopped by the host stand and talked to the mgr, yeah, I ended up being a Karen/Ken, but I wasn't rude about it. Just wanted to mention it...this dude gave me the most apathetic look. He said, "I'm sorry", but his face said, "I too could care less."
