His warm personality, genuine kindness, and charming smile made our experience even more memorable. We ordered the skillets, catfish and grits, pancakes, country fried steak, and a side of bacon, and every single dish was delicious. One of the highlights was Lou's homemade jams. The Mixed Berry and Tropical flavors were our favorites--we loved them so much that we even bought extra to pack in a checked bag and bring back home to Texas! This place is always a Great place to try. I've been coming here several years now. But this most recent time I wasn't too happy with their pancakes. The Staff is always very warm & welcoming which is why this spot holds dear to my heart. But they do need to up their game on the pancakes pls..... I also enjoyed their coffee super Delish! A little worried at first with the heat but they have a swamp cooler outside and have the area covered so it wasn't bad at all. Everyone was very welcoming and inside is your traditional diner setup only this spot made you feel like you're part of the family. They first greet you with some of their homemade jams and crackers before greeting and taking your drink order. Our waitress (Julie) was kind to switch out are plate of jams due to a food allergy. Started out with a coffee and water however next time I would love to try their giant hot chocolate, it looked amazing. My husband ordered the Huevos Rancheros and I ordered the veggie omelette. Huevos Rancheros came with beans, hash browns and flour tortillas. The veggie omelette had a choice of hash browns or home-fries with toast. They were out of home fries but the hash browns were great. We also ordered a single pancake. They didn't have the option on the menu at least from what we saw but our waitress made it happen. During our entire time coffee, water was always filled and we were checked on multiple times. Both the Huevos Rancheros and the veggie omelette were great, as well as the pancake. However, now let's talk about their jams! I absolutely loved their strawberry and berry jam! Very flavorful and not too sweet. Prices were very reasonable. I love this local Las Vegas joint that's been around for 70 some odd years. I got the eggs Benedict with hash browns and toast and it was so good! Have not been here for a while because it's so amazing here that sometimes it's hard to get in. Luckily we got in quickly and the food did not disappoint. You sit down and they have so many workers, you are never neglected. Drinks, refills, anything you need, you get it. They bring you crackers with 3 homemade jams while you wait for your food and they are yummy. You can buy their jams and they are awesome. I decided to try the Pastrami Burger and oh it was good. This hole in the wall was a hidden gem. I had some of the best breakfast in Vegas at this place, everything was cooked to perfection and the employees seemed to all work as a team. My server was Pickles and he was awesome and knew his job very well and made ordering easy. The place isn't but so big but they have a hostess outside of the entrance which helps the spot not get overcrowded. It's a very popular place with great food and wonderful people. The place was loud with Conversations but I was able to hear the good music they play. Julie was on top of it and got us everything we needed quickly and correctly. This place is super cute and the food is all fresh and good quality. There was a wait outside to get in but they had a huge AC unit set up to blow cold air into their outdoor waiting area and offered drinks to help everyone stay comfortable. The menu is huge and has a little bit of everything. The grilled cheese was really good. The bread was soft and fluffy and the cheese was a great combo. Was visiting Vegas from Los Angeles for my birthday weekend and really wanted a down home diner for one of the mornings. I have known of Lou's Diner for quite some time because it has been open since 1969 and is quite famous in Vegas. As you would guess it's mostly known for breakfast and lunch and they have a huge menu filled with all sorts of American diner classics. There is also a large free parking lot attached in front and we only had to wait about 10 minutes for a Saturday breakfast for a party of two. Inside is quite large and they have many different types of seating options from booths to tables. Our server was extremely polite and everything that we ordered came out very fast. When you sit down, they bring over some complementary crackers and homemade jam and the jam was some of the best that I've had a very long time. I especially liked the raspberry and strawberry. For my breakfast, I chose the Chili Cheese Omelette and added chorizo and avocado and absolutely loved it. It had great flavors and everything about it was just perfect. Very personable people which made the experience unique. The food is so delicious I got an item from the secret menu and my husband got the egg and sausage plate. They offered us their homemade jams to try and I ended up buying 3 of their jams. The place was very well kept we sat in the counter to see how the show is run. As you walk up you are greeted and ask how many in your party. There is a waiting area outside. It's summer here in Vegas and at 930 am 93° but the had a portable AC outside as we waited. And this diner was packed. Waited less than 4 minutes. As you go inside everything was a throwback for the yesteryears. So many photos and nicknacks. And for the regulars they have BYOM Wall. Bring your own mug wall. One of Lou's most cherished traditions. On your next visit, leave your favorite mug in our care and they'll be sure to have it clean and ready for your next visit. Super cute! The one thing that makes Lou's stand out is their homemade items from Freshly made Jams, pies, cakes. As you sit down and look over the meal they starts with drinks and samples of the jams with crackers. Truly delicious. And they are also sold along with desserts. I came with a party of 4 and as we always order different you will see from your basic breakfast "Me" haha to those that go out of the box. Their breakfast was amazing hands down. We were in town a few months ago & Googled locals only breakfast spots, which led us here. It was so good, we returned here last week when back in town & our waitress (Morgan) remembered us from 4 months before, which I thought was pretty cool. She was very friendly, prompt, attentive & gave good recommendations. We never had to wait for more than a minute for a refill or anything else. The free homemade jam they serve on crackers is a nice touch & very tasty. We ordered some pancakes as an appetizer just to try them & they were quite good. A little fluffy, but didn't separate as you're cutting into them like many other places pancakes often do. I ordered the chicken fried steak with eggs poached medium, hash browns & a side of sausage. The chicken fried steak was excellent, A light crispy breading that held up crispy even with the gravy covering it. The eggs were great. I like eggs poached medium so the yolk oozes out rather than runs out & theirs oozed out perfectly. The hash browns & sausage were both very good too. I ordered my hash browns extra crispy & they were done just right. My wife ordered the Reuben sandwich & a side of fruit. The Reuben was a normal classic Reuben sandwich & very good (she couldn't finish it, so I ate very well here). We're going back to Vegas next month for our son's 21sts birthday & this place is already on our to go list again. Highly recommend. read more

We were happy to see a line at the door to be seated because that means they must be doing something right. They have a temperature controlled tent are in front to hold overflow which moves rather quickly. The waitress had been there for ages and was a pleasure to meet. They bring complimentary preserves/jams (which they also sell) to the table with crackers. The food (all of it) was cooked perfectly and we polished our plates even though we over ordered after a 6 hour flight. I would make this place a regular stop if it were closer to home. Found myself downtown this morning to run some errands on an early Sunday morning and decided to search for breakfast locations. Lou's Diner on S Decatur Blvd was listed as # 1 and was only 3 minutes away. Drove up and saw people waiting outside which is a good sign. Being a party one, I was content to be seated at the counter. This place is old school charm. The Staff were super friendly and the servings are a great value and tasty like diners use to be. The three jelly samples and crackers served before my stacked biscuits & gravy, hash browns, eggs, and sausage arrived after ordering and was very unique. I chose to enjoy the jellies offering after the meal and it was a sweetly delicious way to finish a very good and hearty breakfast. I don't visit the Las Vegas area often but Lou's Diner is definitely now on my must visit list the next time I'm in town. Recommend you give it a try too. read more

Okay, I love me some good down-home cooking, and especially when it's presented in a family friendly atmosphere. This place made me feel like I was home in the hometown. I grew up in 30 years ago. From the moment you walk in, you are greeted and treated like you are family. That makes all the difference in the world when there are so many great eating choices in the area. As soon as we were seated someone came up and asked us if we needed coffee and water. Not only that, our waitress brought us out a little appetizer, plate of crackers and their homemade jam. What a great way to show off the jams and jellies they have. It worked, I bought two jars to bring home! Do not sleep on these because they are so worth it. I had the chicken fried steak, and my girlfriend had the pigs in a blanket. Very good portion sizes and this was one of the thickest chicken fried steaks I have ever had. It had the perfect amount of Crest on it, and the gravy was off. The chart. Came the toast and home fries, and they were all delicious and perfectly seasoned. The pigs in a blanket were amazing, and the sausage is inside. Had just the slightest bit of kick to it so it was a pleasant surprise when you bit into it One thing we got to witness was this girl who was obviously new being trained by your manager. We got to listen in and see instructed her in how to do things, and watch her live those out in real time. It gives me hope for the future when I see restaurant management taking the time to really teach people how to be with customers and how to create that amazing experience. And this is one place we will definitely be going back to. If you are looking for a HomeTown diner vibe, you could do no better in the Las Vegas area, then Lulu's diner. They have outside seating, and their table turnover is pretty quick, so if there's a line don't freak out, because you will be seated relatively quickly. I highly recommend this place and you would be doing yourself a disservice to not visit it. read more

We dropped by for breakfast on a Sunday around noon. It was a bit busy with many people waiting. We were willing to sit at the counter, so we only had to wait about 10 minutes of the 30 minute wait estimate. Lou's Diner is a classic with great friendly service and an amazing diner ambiance. The food is generally very good, although my hash browns tasted a little "old" this time around. The coffee in, in my opinion, a 5/10. It has coffee flavor, but still tastes quite diluted. We have been enjoying breakfast here for the last few years and will continue to come back. The servers are all very nice and if it's your birthday they will get the whole restaurant singing happy birthday!
