So turns out Bad Astronaut Brewing is sorta changing business ventures and focusing more on being an event space than a brewery. As an event space, it definitely has a lot of positives. There's tons of space, different sections, lots of seating, and various games to entertain. I came for a carnivorous plant show and really enjoyed my time there. It was a pretty hot day and though it didn't seem like there was AC in the space, the air flow and shade kept things cool. I enjoyed how there was space for the plant show/booths as well as a singo event on the other side. There is still a bar with select beers, cocktails, and drinks. The servers were friendly and explained why the menu seemed sparse (focusing on event space vs brewery). I got a rice lager and enjoyed it, very refreshing on a hot and humid Houston day. read more

Had the pleasure of stopping by Bad Astronaut brewery this weekend. Parking was plentiful with a dedicated parking lot and street parking. There's a great view of downtown. They didn't serve food but they had a food truck right outside the door. I tried out a couple of beers (phaser fight, fighting windmills) but they also had soda, cocktails, mocktails and water. I really enjoyed the fighting windmills the most. It was described as a mexican lager. The staff were friendly and were able to provide input on the drink choices. It was spacious, family friendly, and cool inside despite the heat. They even had games to enjoy. I'm giving a 3 because the beer was good but not great. With that said, it's worth trying and I would return. read more

Took a detour to our next destination and stopped by Bad Astronaut Brewery. The service was great and the atmosphere was spacious. There were plenty of games to play, lots of seating area where you could enjoy a beer and good conversation, and clear views of the brewing tanks which makes for a great photo opp. They also have a large parking area with an amazing view of the downtown skyline which makes for another amazing photo opp. Even with the large garage doors open, the space stayed cool. It's a great environment for families and friends to gather, try beer, play games, and fellowship. We ordered the Fighting Windmills, Phaser Fight, Cloud Punch, a Cosmic Bloom cocktail, and a shot of Pineapple Fruit Punch Hooch-ito. The beers were crisp, cold, and enjoyable nothing too spectacularly. Our favorite beer was the Fighting Windmills, and the sample of Cowabunga Bangarang that we were able to sample. They don't offer beer flights, but we'd definitely come back for those two selections. We wish we'd known the cocktails weren't made fresh because they tasted more like a premixed syrup with water, and we weren't able to finish them. Overall, we'd return for the beer, the friendly service, and the relaxed atmosphere. read more

At the time of my visit they were showcasing a Mini Comic Con Event and this place was packed with some amazing sights! Incredibly large warehouse for events, ice cold beer, and the wall art is its own attraction. I believe they will be having a Horror Event there in October - DO NOT MISS IT ! Huge Brewery we never heard of until we were in the area and I looked up Breweries near me. Great Selection of Beers. Lots of Pool Tables, Games, TVs. Why would any place in Houston not have air-conditioning in the main room? They had around 12 fans but four of them weren't on. It looks like it has air-conditioning ductwork so I don't know what the deal is. They certainly charge enough to be able to afford the power bill. The back room certainly has a great air conditioner so if you go to an event, it's nice As far as the front room, I guess those 10 days out of the year we have pleasant weather. Brewery #354 Bad Astronaut is in a huge warehouse with lots of games and tables. They have foosball, ping pong, pinball, pop-a-shot, cornhole and pretty much every game imaginable. The have a huge fenced in parking lot in the back and on the 2 occasions I went they had a food truck in the front. What they don't have are flights. This drives me nuts because I want to try multiple beers on a visit and I can't do that unless I get hammered. The 2 beers I had were solid but that's all I can say. read more

Really enjoyed Bad Astronaut Brewing on a recent Saturday in May. It's a massive space with tons of seating, games and entertainment like pool, air hockey, basketball, bingo, and events (we went for a carnivorous plant market). Friendly folks behind the counter and I appreciated their mocktail options were not just limited to soda. The only downside was there did not appear to be central AC. There were large fans, lots of open garage door style openings, and air moved decently through their space. I came here for a comedy show. Was a bit confused on how it would work at a brewery but lo and behold they had a venue in the back attached to the brewery! The brews were great and they had service in the comedy space as well in case you were running late and couldn't grab one before entering. There were a few food trucks outside as well. We got the quesadillas but I think the other truck had burgers. We did come at the tail end of winter so it was bit cold in the brewery/comedy event space so plan accordingly. The event space is like a huge barn style space with large indoor fans, no heaters. There is also plenty of street parking available for a fee but it's easy to set up via text. read more

Enjoyed a beer last night. Loved that there was free games to play also while hanging out. Tons to walk around looking at or activities to play with friends or maybe a new person you meet there. The cookie ale was amazing. I felt that the hard seltzer was something I'd expect from a college party smell wise not in a good way. Overall though the others like the hazy ipa were tasty. Sometimes when I describe bars and breweries in Houston to out-of-town friends, I often say we have so much space we don't even know what to do with.. and Bad Astronaut Brewing is almost the perfect example. it's a large warehouse space with a great selection of beers and free bar games. Who doesn't love free billiards, air hockey and hoops?! I like the fact the venue is ideal for hosting large parties and events, with plenty of seating for sports watching. It's dog friendly, kids friendly, and features food trucks outside. Plus there's plenty of parking (at least when I went in the daytime) in their back lot. Lots of beers to choose from, they can even do a half-pour if you feel like sampling a few stouts. This spot is definitely on my revisit list, if anything I will be back for the hoops and beer! read more

Bad Astronaut Brewing in Houston served as another interesting stop on our brewery tour. The sitting area is massive, and judging by the abundant signage, they host a variety of events. There's also a fun mix of games scattered around, which adds to the overall lively atmosphere. However, our beer tasting was pretty average--decent but nothing that screamed "take me home!" The real adventure turned out to be finding a decent spot to sit. We tried several tables, only to discover most were either wobbly or in need of a good cleaning. Eventually, we resorted to improvising: we grabbed a towel, wiped down the least dirty table we could find, and even wedged some napkins under a leg to steady it. If you're on a brewery tour, it's a cool spot to check out. A great place to meet up a group of people and if you have kids as well. It's basically a brewery that is enclosed but like a warehouse where the big metal doors are open. So no AC really but they have those big fans on the ceiling so there is circulation. They do have plenty of table and high top seatings and a big area for kids to run around. They have a baseball game foosball, and Cornhole. If you forget your water bottle there are two coolers full of ice water with plastic cups. Food wise is a food truck that is parked outside. They do have a venue past these double doors for concerts. The restrooms are multi stalls, AC, and pretty clean for a brewery. I love that they have the paper seat covers available and a change table in the ladies restroom. Unsure if the men have a changes table but if not please provide that. My friend is a single dad with two kiddos and 1 still in diapers. He changed her in the back of his car. Plenty of street parking and also a gravel lot next to the place in an iron fenced in area. Now I can't drink because I'm with child so I can't speak to the beer but they do have non alcoholic beer. read more

Went there for the first time last night and the beer we tried were great. They had a food truck outside that our friends tried out and they really enjoyed their burger and fries and the quesadilla. They have lots of games (pool tables, air hockey, foosball, and basketball). I really loved that dogs are allowed (got to meet an older husky dog). The service was great. The bartenders were helpful in helping us choose our beers. One thing I'd note is that they have no AC so it does get warm. They do have large (industrial sized) ceiling fans for airflow. We love hanging out here at bad astronaut. The main draw for us is the big space with the free games - pool, foosball, air hockey, table tennis etc. Their beer is also not bad and they have some beer cocktails as well to add to the variety. As far as food, they have a taco stand sometimes. Parking is decent and has never really been an issue for us. Staff are friendly, and they allow puppies inside. I'm actually surprised this place isn't super busy every time we go. There's always been a crowd, but it's never super packed. I love the idea of what Bad Astronaut is doing. The beer/wine/ciders are all well priced. Great selection to chose from and the fun factor with its arcades of this whole place is pretty top notch. However I've been left with a super bitter taste in my mouth and its not from a double IPA they serve. Back in April/May, we were told by a close friend (They personally know the owner) that we can tell the staff to rope off and reserve a few tables if we wanted to throw a party. So we contacted the staff and were referred to the reservation person. They forwarded over a rental brochure and ultimately asked us to pay $500 to reserve tables for ~75 people. Ok, no problem despite being told differently by someone else. We understand this is a business and transactions need to be made. They also mentioned they would have A/c installed by July. So we put our reservation in and were hoping for the best for our July bday party. The big day rolls around. We get to the venue. No tables were reserved for us, the general area that was suppose to be roped off was wide open for the public to use. No A/c installed. We had to flag down a staff to tell them to put "reserved" signs on tables and there were no boundaries separating our party from the general public. It was as if nothing happened Ultimately, we paid $500 for 10 sheets of paper with the word "Reserved" to be put on tables after we told them to do so. What a rip. Oh, no A/c Installed. PRO TIP: Its better to ask for forgiveness than permission. If you're gonna throw a kids bday or a someone bday here. No need to reach out and do it the legit way and pay a butt load of money. Just come early and hog up a buncha tables for your people for free. read more

This was such a fu experience and a great place to recommend for others visiting Texas or if you want to visit Texa and something to do. This a Brewery but smh this was a little wonder park for sure. I came on a Sunday, they had a flea event with breaking dancing/dancing competition that was so dope. They even had the kids competing which was the cutest thing and awwww they were so freaking good battling.They had a food truck and vendors that some stuff for sale. It was Thanksgiving weekend so the crowd was touchy. The brewery is HUGE!!!! The beer know that is great. The only thing I wish they did have was fight boards. Came here to celebrate a friend's birthday party on a Sunday. They have a parking lot, but it can get packed. We got lucky with someone leaving when we arrived so parking was easier for us. They do have street parking too. Inside is huge. They had a back room and there was an event going on with artist, people selling old school stuff and more.. The main area was cool. Some fun games to play (table hockey) and plenty of seating. The bar area can get super packed with a line waiting to order drinks. They have tons of beer (obviously) and some frozen cocktails. They were supposed to have pizza at 2pm on Sunday, but it wasn't available until about 3:30pm. We were super hungry since we were betting on the pizza, and the pizzas range from 1$8-20 bucks and personally, not worth it. It was not big at all and the pizza is mediocre. While they do not have a flight, they serve 5oz pours to allow you to try all the things. I stuck with Bad Astronaut brews and their list of traditionals is impressive. In a world full of beer science experiments, it's nice to order a style and get a great pour of exactly what you are expecting. We didn't get to try the pizza, but the place smelled great.
