Tony Nguyen is AMAZING!!! I was looking for a tattoo artist to do a Kobe tattoo on my left calf, so I searched thru IG for some inspiration and I was very lucky to found Tony's work. I was extremely impressed with his portfolio. I haven't gotten a tattoo for over 10 years so I wanted to make sure I find a good one AND who had done a Kobe tattoo before AND who's local!!! Tony fits every categories!! I had to wait 2 months to get an appt with him because he was all booked up, that tells me he is good!!!! The outside of the shop looks pretty small, but when you walk inside, it looks like a paradise!! It's nice and clean and very modern. There are 2 small seats and a bench on the right side when you walked in. They have 6 tattoo stations, 3 on each side, and one eyebrow station at the back. This place is NICE!! I was at the shop for 6hrs from 11am-5pm. Tony greeted me when I walked in, then we went over all the details for my tattoo, he never rush his work, he is very patience and make sure everything is perfect before he starts the inking. I went on Friday the 13th. Kade was able to fit me in at the end of his day with pretty much almost zero notice, after another artist i had an appt with ghosted me. That was awesome for him to do. He did an amazing job on my tattoo & was super cool. If I could give this place 100 stars I would! My friend has be coming here for months and I've loved all the work from Reid that I've seen, so I finally stopped in! She has these amazing flashes on IG (reid_elizabeth_tattoo) if you're someone like me who doesn't have a clear idea, but will know what they want when they see it! The place is super friendly, clean, and nice. I ended up laying down sideways for pretty much the whole tattoo and the table was comfortable. I had already come in with specific colors I wanted, which were different than what Reid had planned, but when I told her what I wanted she easily played around with the colors and I'm more than pleased!! Also, she works fast if you don't need breaks. I got the outline, shading, and coloring done in about 3 hours! The healing process went well and 100% I would recommend this shop/Reid specifically for any tattoo needs! read more

My first tattoo at this location was done by Tony Nguyen and he's been my favorite artist ever since. I trust Tony so much. I've given him ideas of what I want done and he puts together a master piece. About two years ago, Tony completed a Van Gogh sleeve for me and I get complimented all the time. Tony Nguyen (the talented shop owner) has been my only tattoo artist since 2013 (six years and counting). I've had about 7-8 nightmare-ish tattoo experiences before I finally met him (I will not name specific shops, but they are in OC + Long Beach). Technically, I've been through three shops with him. If Tony ever leaves California, I will travel to book him for an appointment. If that is not love, I don't know what love is (platonic tattoo artist admiration - HA!). He has inked about 24+ pieces on me (varying sizes from small to about 10x10 pieces). He loves to book portrait work, anime, and large complex colorful pieces. However, I book Tony for detailed geometric line work + ocean theme watercolor pieces (mainly, jellyfish and octopuses). He is funny, kind, and patient. He doesn't make me feel like a client (or some stand-offish inking transaction) more like a getting together with a long lost friend (this holds true for every single session). Chatting, level of comfort, and trust are really important qualities everyone should look for in a tattoo artist. He doesn't control or manipulate the ideas I bring to him, but he has a really effective editing eye. He has a super gentle hand, works quickly (neatly), and is excellent at last minute improvisations. Since I'm running out of free space on my body (and he is booking 2-3months in advance) I'm looking forward to my appointments with him for a larger, multi-session, back piece. Best to book ahead. Kade has the best sense of humor, the BEST outlining I've ever seen done on an anime style tattoo, and he (and the rest of the shop) create an extremely welcoming vibe which is super important as I am LGBTQ. AMAZING. Met with Tony back in May when he temporarily opened up his books. I inquired about my current tattoo (done by another artist) to be redone. I have a geisha on my back and was not happy with how her face turned out. I showed Tony a couple pictures of what I would like added to make her look more realistic. Tbh, I came in really not too hopeful that it could be fixed due to how bad it already was. To my surprise, he totally nailed it and I'm more than satisfied with the outcome. Every little detail is beautiful! He didn't have to but he offered to add color to the eyes. His portrait pieces are incredible (IG for reference). I discovered this shop after visiting the LA Tattoo Convention a year ago. I saved their info and followed a few of the artists on Instagram. I didn't actually get tattooed there until months later when Reid posted some amazing flash and there was one piece that caught my eye and I knew I had to get it tattooed. I've gotten tattooed by Reid twice now, both times on the ribs and both times were obviously extremely painful. BUT I would not have wanted anyone else to do those pieces though. Reid's style is exactly what I was looking for and her personality makes the entire experience so much more comfortable and fun. I recently had the pleasure of getting a piece done by Megan as well. If anyone is looking for traditional tattoos, Megan is the person to go to. Again, she is super friendly and easy to talk to which in my opinion makes the painful experience of getting a tattoo more bearable.
