    Laura Tomorrow our tour guide.

On Halloween Eve took the family out for a night of paranormal activity. It was nice to get outside and go through downtown. The stories were entertaining and based on historical pieces of history. The most fascinating piece was around the Alamo. Having lived in SA my whole life I had never noticed that in the middle of the road a marker for where many Alamo soldiers were buried. Our tour guide was Laura Tomorrow. The group has been running for 7 years and in process of opening a small boutique store for a storefront. I would say one and done. If nothing else to do and new to the area and history you may find it interesting.

A side view of the very haunted building with the twin orbs that are often photographed there.

This tour agency is a complete gem! Our guide was incredibly passionate, animated, and clearly enjoyed her work. I saw other groups going by, but they didn't appear to be having half as much fun as we were. She showed us images people had taken and told recent stories of phenomena, weaving it through the history of the area. The walk was very easy with many stops, often with places to sit, and was a perfect introduction to the history of San Antonio.

The group that got the jokes that were not jokes that no one else laughed at.

It was my best friend Marlen's birthday and we started the night ruining any chances for a romantic engagement for the couples next to us at dinner with our obnoxious laughing and untimely responses to all things BUT we were not done yet --our last stop for the night was this Haunted Pub Crawl. You know what! I'll start by giving this 5 stars! Jules was our guide and I just have to hand it to him for tolerating my friends and I for displaying the opposite reaction to whatever reaction he was trying to manufacture via his story telling. No one welcomes a ghost touching up our leg at Moses Roses more than us - I guess. So you begin the tour with a welcome from Jules, rules and regulations and finally initiate a ritual by looking up at the moon and welcoming all spirits by howling at the moon really loud. You want to do it so loud that people passing by turn and possibly wonder if you are okay. We went to 5 bars total- there were drink specials at each bar which was nice. My favorite perk was vip entrance access to Pat O'Brien bar. We will walk to the ends of the earth for a good buffet, Peter Piper Pizza, Pluckers (just to name a few) -but avoiding half a block to the main entrance... well were LIVING. Look in all honesty - If you're trying to enjoy a drunk night out - this may not be for you because I can see how standing outside bars listening to a 20 min haunted story could be a buzz kill. Now, if you're genuinely interested in history and spooky stories - then this would be great. Stories were pretty interesting and surprisingly I remember all of them - someone quiz me now. I wouldn't say this is a SCARY experience overall so keep that in mind. If you want to get scared just order an Uber XL right afterwards - prices are ridiculous and you may get our driver who drove the most reckless.

Wolf was a real cool dude. Nearly a private tour due to COVID, he walked us through the property of Victoria's Black Swan Inn and shared with us some very interesting ghosts stories and historical facts of the property. I hope you spend the night here one day.

You get to visit 5 different stops (mine was only four since it was the starting phase). I went on a Sunday tour, the tour differs between the two based on the dessert place (La Boulangerie on Saturday, Paleteria on Sunday). The tour was great, we start at Ocho, you get a taste of one of the popular dishes and history on SA, then start on foot towards Luke, receiving information about the city on the way. I enjoyed a great little dish and drink at Luke, then headed on to Nectar, and got a HUGE sampling of the meats and cheeses that they offer, from there we head to Zinc. At Zinc I tried one of the best guacs in town, and saw some of my fellow tour-ers the purchase a Prickly Pear Margarita, which was really really pretty. (Typically you visit a desert place last, but because i went on the tour before the Paleteria was confirmed, we skipped this stop.) The SA Food Tours staff is friendly and knowledgeable, they've put a lot of time and hard work into the tour, and its a great way to experience San Antonio's food scene and get some history at the same time. I've lived here all my life and learned and tried new things on the tour, it's worth it!

I'm speaking from experience as we've taken one now each place we travel to (if they have one) for the last 6 years, which is when it seems many good ones began to get started (US). I noticed the reviews so far are all from people in San Antonio. Nothing wrong with that - I live here too. However, none mention having taken other food tours they've taken so as to compare it. When you do, I find this tour a bit pricey and not balanced. I know it's a about the food for the most part and was the main reason we took it despite the cost. Yet, I was hoping for a true overall cultural experience like the best food tours we've done. That way you walk away satisfied gastronomically but also feel like you'd received a real "taste" of the city's culture you're visiting while allow your palate to rest while "digesting" things other than food. As I stated above, most food tours get good reviews, so I believe this is what helps separate the stand-outs from the average.

Art museums, hotels, the courthouse, and more can be accessed from the River, so it's easily a huge part of the heart of downtown. First off, let me start by saying our driver Nate, was an absolute doll. He was the only good part about the experience with this company. The company is called San Antonio Wine Tours, their website says they are based out of SA and pickup in SA. When booking a half day tour, their website says there is only enough time to go to dripping springs. So I booked dripping springs and requested and additional hour to have lunch. Upon calling to update my reservation I was told the extra hour I purchased would go towards travel time. TBF dripping springs is 1.5 hours from my home and they said ppl usually spend 45min-1hr at the wineries. That being said, why does the basic half day package say there's enough time to go to dripping springs only, which I chose, yet my additional hour has to be used for travel. It didn't quite add up. So I explained this to them and was given the response "oh, I guess the website needs to be corrected". Also, they just asked "do you want to cancel?" No attempting to right their wrong. I soon realized it's probably bc the deposit I put down was non refundable so they probably didn't care bc they already had some of my money. I was told that apparently they have been pulling this since they started 2 years ago and the website was supposed to have been "corrected" many times before this. So buyer beware, this company practices dishonest and what I feel is shady business. They also seem to not care about if the customer is upset and only about the money that can get.
