He double checked a 2nd time letting them know it was important and they again confirmed no dairy. When he got the rice he took one bite and he thought it tasted like it may have butter he asked again saying "this tastes like it has butter." The employee assured him saying there was no butter. My son was very hungry and so he decided to trust them and ate most of the rice cup. He started feeling sick within minutes and went up a fourth time to ask them. At that point, the employee asked the cook who informed them that butter was used. My son had been dealing with health issues the last two days due to his severe allergy. He is having difficulty breathing, in addition to all the other symptoms that come from dairy allergy. It's very sad to see him in pain knowing the restaurant did not take his allergy seriously and misinformed him. To the owners and staff members please take food allergies seriously. I inner stand people make mistakes. I hope that my son's pain will cause the restaurant to change its policy to take food allergies seriously and that the next person won't suffer. I write this very important review because I (yesterday evening) witnessed the staff of this establishment being extremely rude and hostile to a young lady (she was being harassed by two older women that seemed to recognize her from some tv show). It was clear what was going on. I can't believe what I heard come out of the mouth of the staff member. I see this employee often on weekends. She said to "kick the (racial slur) bi#%* out of here" to one of the other employees. She probably didn't think I heard her or that I'd care. She then began to SHOVE the young lady out. The young lady wasn't being irate - just wasn't the kind of look they wanted in their bar. I mean, this was a well dressed, classy looking lady, too! I'm a happily married man, but she was nice looking, and I could tell the female servers and less attractive women were envious because of it. I couldn't understand why this mild mannered, classy lady was being SHOVED out of the bar. Me and my three friends who I invited there for the first time couldn't believe it. They sided with the less attractive ladies that most likely are regulars ... I just couldn't believe that this was the Baddeley's I'd been going to. I've been coming here on and off for 6 years, and I can't bring myself to go back. This bar employs UNDERCOVER RACISTS. Also, I want to go to a bar where the police aren't CONSTANTLY showing up! There are several bars in this area, so don't feel like you have to go to this disgusting, racist, anti-pretty girl, sloppy (and dirty, frankly - saw servers sneezing and NOT washing their hands... and they require vaxxx so they should make sure their employees NEVER handle food if they're not going to enforce hygiene) place. Thought I could at least grab a beer even if I can't eat there because of the hidden hygiene problem, but I can't. Not only is the staff sneaky and unclean, but they are also hands down racists. I heard it with my own ears, and I do not tolerate bigotry. I'm only giving it one star because I have to. Again, I will not be back, smh‍ read more

I'm so glad other people had fun at Baddeley's! I had a blast there Friday night and went back again Saturday and had the same fun! The bartenders are great and it is definitely is a neighborhood bar, although I am sure it is gay friendly like most bars in Long Beach. Friday night had some CB patrons having fun, but Saturday night was full of locals and a good mix from the area, which is open and friendly! The tv's are awesome and I am going back with my friends to watch Lakers tomorrow night! I heard they are focusing on World Cup too so will plan to be there for the matches! Great addition to Broadway and to Long Beach! The jukebox is a thing of beauty! read more

Hahaha went to this bar on August 16th and the bar tender was named Chris I think. I opened a tab and gave the guy my card and I was probably there for 2 beers and then I go to close out and the bartender is telling me that he lost my card lmao. Then he proceeds to act like it's no big deal and and his dumb bar back tell me to "just go get a new one" (keep in mind this is Saturday night so obviously the banks are closed and the banks are closed Sunday.) so then they proceed to try and act like it's my fault and they try to kick me out if I could give negative stars for these people I would. Holy shit the service was ass too. Hopefully this shit bar closes soon read more

I've been to this tavern three times thus far and the atmosphere/music and cocktails are stellar. Not to mention the bartenders are smoking hot.....just saying. They are attentive and hard working also, especially Katie (who is the hottest). There are awesome insanely affordable happy hour prices. Come in and enjoy the weather and scenery. I went to Baddeleys Pourhouse for a sports on A Sunday. I was a little hung over from the night before so I ordered a bloody mary and my girlfriend ordered a mimosa. Drinks were stiff, which I like. Prices were really reasonable, it was happy hour prices. The owners were there. I like meeting the owners of bars. You can tell they are passionate about what they do. Like all new places there are growing pains. The bartenders are well skilled at their craft, with a nice happy hour. It has a jukebox that makes you feel like your in Times square. I was there and was in the middle of popping the question to my now wife when some drunk old man told me we were immoral and put his hands on me! After all, a wise man once said that "the only color a business should see is green" it was-- Frederick Douglas or Kermit? Anyway... If I had bothered to read the reviews, I may have been discouraged to enter. Half of the reviews mention "stabbing" and half mention "hookers", which would lead me to believe that El Paraiso is Spanish for "the knife-wielding prostitute". Instead I read the reviews while checking in, where I wrote the tip, "This place is only scary to people who get scared. Show respect to others and you"ll get it back. We're all brothers and sisters just trying to drown out or celebrate our meaningless lives." I was drunk when I wrote that-- so drunk that I might have had, in fact, a knife in me at the time-- but I'll stand by it. Not too crowded at 11pm on a Friday night, a DJ blasting music in Spanish, we slid up to the comfortable bar and met Emilia, a sweet lady who offered a shot of Patron for the birthday boy. We got a few looks from the locals, so I did feel a little like an elephant at a donkey park (weird analogy, I know, but "black guy eating pho" seemed racist). Like any new dive, I just avoided looking too long at a girl so I didn't get the ol' "qué estás mirando?" with an upside down question mark from some hombre. Or chick with an ombre. My six vodka and cranberry drinks were bright red, usually a sign of a weak drink, but the drink was served in a tall glass instead of a lowball, so I'm assuming it had the right pour but with more juice. ( I guess I could have asked for "less juice" in Spanish, but I probably would have said "games hands" or "little ghost" instead and THAT, mi amigos, is what gets you stabbed.) I ordered six grey goose and crans (I learned "OTRO!" at my first Mexican party- my friend told me "OTRO!" meant "CHEERS" so I kept trying to explain to the hostess that I didn't want another shot as she kept pouring them because I kept shouting "OTRO!" followed by "No, no, no, I didn't want another...oh fine".) They were only $7.50 which is cheap. That leaves quite enough money for gauze for all the stab wounds. So, anyway, how was the crowd? The only trouble we saw was a small fight that broke out at the end, but that could be anywhere (Emilia kicked him out). I mean 36/36 has more shady people. Met some nice, friendly, funny regulars (Ivan and Blanca). One guy stared at me. I didn't feel like I could totally be my silly self, like handing a wrapped stick of gum to the birthday boy with my mouth. That move seems pretty stab worthy. El Paraiso. A cut above the rest. And your ribs.

It was pretty much empty in the main bar area and not really full in the patio area. We didn't know what to expect on the weekend as to how busy it might be. We lucked out. Our server was great. She was very helpful when we asked about the beers on tap and offered us samplers to help make up our minds. We ended up getting the Moose Drool dark beer and just gloved it. We ordered an unusual appetizer called an Irish egg-roll. Corned beef and Swiss rolled in an egg-roll batter. These were fantastic. Really good. For our main coarse I ordered the special of swordfish wrap with steak fries. Absolutely great. My wife had the fire burger with a side of fruit. She loved it. I've seen a few negative reviews of the place but our experience was truly 5 star. Great service, great food and great atmosphere. We will absolutely be back. Well done everybody.

Extremely Dangerous My son ordered plain rice and was…read morepromised there was no dairy. He is extremely allergic. He double checked a 2nd time letting them know it was important and they again confirmed no dairy. When he got the rice he took one bite and he thought it tasted like it may have butter he asked again saying "this tastes like it has butter." The employee assured him saying there was no butter. My son was very hungry and so he decided to trust them and ate most of the rice cup. He started feeling sick within minutes and went up a fourth time to ask them. At that point, the employee asked the cook who informed them that butter was used. My son had been dealing with health issues the last two days due to his severe allergy. He is having difficulty breathing, in addition to all the other symptoms that come from dairy allergy. It's very sad to see him in pain knowing the restaurant did not take his allergy seriously and misinformed him. To the owners and staff members please take food allergies seriously. I inner stand people make mistakes. I hope that my son's pain will cause the restaurant to change its policy to take food allergies seriously and that the next person won't suffer. I want to start with I've come to this bar over 30 times and spent money almost every time not only on drinks, but pool and the juke box. My partner and I took a long bike this morning and decided to stop in for some free pool. The man at the bar followed with you have to spend money to play pool for free. I am recently sober and just wanted to play pool. I've never been greeted this way at this establishment. He told us to leave or buy a drink. We kindly told him to fuck off and unfortunately I will never step foot in this bar ever again. Our close friend passed away recently and they are having a Remembrance Birthday but unfortunately I will not be attending because I'm appalled at the way we were treated. You've lost my partner, me, and our friends as neighborhood customers and I will continue to tell friends and family not to go to this bar. Never seen this bartender in all my time of going here and hope I never see him again in my life. Sorry to the bartenders I've built good relationships with but do yourself a favor find another bar that will treat you like a community because this will never be the one.

I got the Backyard BBQ burger with tater tots and the Bacon Bleu burger with fries. Backyard BBQ burger - the onion rings at Sideburns are some of the best in the game, so this was obviously stellar. An indulgent bite and they don't skimp on the bacon or onion rings either. Bacon Bleu burger - this was loaded with bleu cheese! I thought it was awesome, but my friends definitely thought it was a little too much to handle. Definitely order if you love bleu cheese. It was perfectly balanced by the sweet strawberry jam and peppery arugula. If you're looking to cure your hangover before it even starts, head to the Stache. The vibe is chill, with good bartenders and a good movie playing on the projector every night. Food is awesome and served late, which we all know is a rarity around here.
