You have to love a dedicated 49ers bar in Long Beach! As a 49ers fan, this spot has a place in my heart. When the 49ers game comes on, all fans show up and pack the bar with a live and rowdy atmosphere. When it's gameday, seating definitely gets tough. They have a main TV for the game and the surrounding TV's have other football games. Last time I went they were doing spin the wheel for shots or small prizes. At Gallagher's there is inside and outside seating. It gets really hot during football times so the lighting makes it beaming hot. If you are just getting brews, this place is a good spot but I would say the food is below average for bar food. Fish and Chips were really crispy and a big portion, fries were okay. Pretzel was also good. But it just felt possibly frozen and just basic food. Since it gets busy the servers almost sometimes forget to check up and serve you. read more

It was an accident... we were driving on Broadway Avenue and were looking for place to have lunch on Saturday and found it... traditional Irish food with the tests of a real tavern with shouts loud music and Guiñes beer. Great place and at the right location as Broadway still has a lot to offer.... We wanted a fairly quick bite after our mosaic workshop down the road. The corner beef sandwich, the bacon jalapeno tots and a nice Gallagher's Ale (I'd prefer this one over the stout) did the job nicely. Prompt service too, too bad things have been quiet(er) for the business. We sat outside as it's a proper pub which means lots of noise of chatter, music and TV. Well, St. Patrick's Day has come and gone. I spent it at Gallagher's the first part of the day. $10 cover to sit, initially, on the patio. It was so hot and glad a table inside opened up. Service on the patio was slow but once inside, the Server was on it. Ordered Corned Beef and Cabbage. Cabbage and gravy needed more seasoning. Corned Beef was tender and tasty. Friends wanted to meet here after they visited a family member a couple of doors over at the Nursing Facility so we could watch the Dodgers game. We walked in and saw that the place was not busy. To our pleasant surprise, a band by the name of TRITERRIZ performed excellently. The music was good. Now the ugliness of Gallagher's I did read some negative and positive reviews and I concur with the negative ones. There were 3 workers for the whole place. We waited and waited to be served for someone to come and clean the table. We noticed 5 other dirty tables had not been cleaned. We finally walked up to the Bartender and ordered our drinks along with a couple of appetizers. NO TIPPING HERE .... We sat down enjoyed the band and watched the Dodger game without sound or subtitles. Our food finally arrived, but I thought I was supposed to go pick it up, I should have asked The food was just ok, I did not love it. We stayed over not because they had bad service or mediocre food, The only reason we stayed was to enjoy the band and the game. Sad. Bad service - Sucks . Do the owners care, do they even show up at their own business, NOPE. They are out to lunch. The place has so much potential. They need to get all new help with better attitude and train them to provide better service. read more

I love Gallagher's as our local sports pub. It's really fun to come here and watch any game really. I'm a niners fan so it's always great to come here during the nfl season since they're a niners bar (though it was gut wrenching to be here when the niners lost the superbowl last year). They have trivia nights on Wednesday and karaoke on Thursdays which are both fun. The drinks are great, well-priced. The food is also really solid! I've had a few burgers and their shepards pie and fish and chips. Definitely solid food choices. When I've come when it's not a sporting event, they employees are super nice and attentive. They'll stop and talk to you if you want or let you be if they think you want some privacy. Shoutout to the woman who sang Boyz II Men with me at karaoke when no one else was singing along. It can get pretty busy during soccer games.. and limited to service however its definitely a neat place to enjoy a game, booze and some good eats. Even a server stopping for a second to say "I'll be right with you" or something would have been acceptable. There was loud hip-hop and rap playing, I don't mind the music, but keep it low enough for people to talk, and why isn't there Irish music playing in an Irish pub? Is there not enough Irish history to choose from for the ambiance? If I walked into a Mexican restaurant and heard classical music playing, I would be upset too. Other thing that is my pet peeve but they lose points for it anyway, a QR code menu. No. Just no. I came out to talk to people, not give anyone a reason to get lost in their phones. So, first of all the ambiance in this pub was great because we were watching a premier league game and we had Liverpool fans show up in full force. So the energy was great. And our server was very sweet and professional however the pub was completely understaffed with one person in the front and one in the back. It look an hour to get our food (we came specifically for the Irish breakfast) and all of our breakfasts were cold or blatantly undercooked (the pancakes were running in the middle). And although our server was sweet, we had to ask her several times for things (water, cutlery, additional plates) because she would forget to bring them when asked the first time. It's one thing to wait for your food which is annoying. It's a whole other when you've waited a long time and then the food comes out cold and at different times-- so there evidently wasn't the staffing to cook 6 breakfasts at once so they came out one at a time (and were cold when left with us) It's a shame because the Irish bacon and sausages were good quality - but the experience was less than. Had I been the owner of the joint I would have flyover a 50% discount on the food given the situation at hand. Again, want to call out that the server was sweet- but not much hustle and definitely needed help. We might try again because of the circumstances -- but we will try other places for Irish breakfast first before coming back here. read more

After reading the reviews, I was hesitant. I ordered the fish and chips. I loved the thick cut fries. I'm so tired of thin fries that are like eating chalk when they cool off in 30 seconds. The plate was served with 2 huge pieces of fish, and I got a side salad with blue cheese dressing as my side. I had lunch today at the "pub'. I enjoyed the food BUT I don't like being RIPPED OFF. The food and the service was good until I got my bill which was $XX.58. When the waitress brought my change there was no coinage ($.42I I was to tip- but I felt as I was being RIPPED OFF and I WAS. The waitress the disappeared. I LEFT NO TIP. I just called -the "pub" the manager had left for the day and I learned they round the bill up to the nearest dollar. To me this is ROBBERY and I WILL NEVER go back. If I could give it ZERO STARS.
