I drove 30 miles out of my way on a longer road trip to try Bagel Bakery Cafe and placed a take away order on the web. We had lunch when we arrived, too. We received very personable service. They have a large selection of bagels from which to choose. The app was easy to order from although it said that blueberry bagels were out of stock but when I arrived at the store there were plenty. Perhaps they baked a new batch before I could arrive! As for lunch, the crab dip bagel is deliciously decadent. Most of the bagels had a great texture and chew to them although my dear wife described the texture as "gummy." I ordered a "small" cappuccino which was actually about 16 oz. I wish it was smaller, I.e., made with less milk, because the espresso flavor was very dilute. I ordered a single shot of espresso to give it a boost but even that didn't make it strong enough for me. I don't think I'd order it again without specifying that I wanted about half the milk plus a double or triple shot. Very casual ambience, frequented by local college students. My friend and I got bagels yesterday. I was craving a bagel and lox sandwich with schmear of cream cheese, lox, red onion, capers, thin slice of tomato with sprig of dill. This is the only place to get a bagel and lox sandwich in the Bury. yep. The bagel cost me $16.00 which is about the same price I would have paid at a place on Houston Street in lower east Manhattan! ROFL! But Salisbury is not a bagel city, nor do they have delicatessens. I have to say the Nova lox was fresh and the bagel had a decent amount of chew, however, the tomato could have been fresher and sliced thinly. A sprig of dill was greatly missed. I will add the "everything bagel" had plenty of sesame, onion, garlic, and salt flavor. I used to love Bagel Bakery Cafe when I first moved to Salisbury back in 2018, but the past few years the quality of service has declined while the prices have increased. After a long hiatus I gave them another chance today, and they did not give me the correct order. The store was almost empty and I was the only person in line - I requested tuna salad on a bagel and received chicken salad. I hate chicken salad and didn't realize until I was back the office. A $9 sandwich (no chips or drink, just the sandwich for that price!) and it went straight into the trash. I can officially cross this place off my list. read more

My friend mentioned grabbing a bagel with lox and so I found this spot right off the main S Salisbury boulevard. It has the standard counter line ordering system. The picture of the crab bagel was featured and it looked so delicious. I decided to try one myself. Omg! If you are a crab dip lover you got to try this at least once. I loved the bagel with lox too. But this is a local business and, my fearless gastromaniacs, you have read my predilection for local businesses - so this cafe is clean and well lit with good windows. If you just want a bagel it ain't New York, but it's better than some of the franchise-style bakery's. The coffee, tall French roast for me, was generic and not all that fresh but it didn't suck. That's saying something these days. I had a bacon/egg and cheese bagel, quickly prepared and fresh. The tables are worn but clean and the ambient music is early modern elevator. Oh yea, the people up front are a bit unhappy....witness protection program maybe.... Again, I am being critical because if they weren't here, we'd have NOTHING. It's easy to see what everyone is saying in the reviews about the customer service. The girl working behind the counter definitely seems like she would rather be anywhere but here and barely glanced at me while I was placing my order. I stood waiting for my Crab Dip Melt for roughly 10 minutes before the guy standing at the register said he could ring up my order. I decided to also order a vanilla cappuccino, which he promptly made. I waited about 5 more minutes and finally my melt was ready. I sat down in the restaurant to eat, which looks out dated. The food was very good, and I even ended up placing an order for another melt just to bring home to my boyfriend. This was probably the worst bagel I have ever had in my entire life. I am from New Jersey so I have pretty high expectations when it comes to bagels. I went in with very low expectations and they were not even close to being met. I ordered a bacon egg and cheese on a plain bagel. Seems pretty simple right? It tasted like kraft singles between two pieces of cardboard. They microwaved every single ingredient that goes into the sandwich right in front of me. WORST. MISTAKE. EVER. I ordered a creamed chipped beef breakfast over toast with a hash brown and a cream cheese danish (don't judge, I'm already 4,000 calories under my intake while pregnant, I'm trying to stock up), and my husband had the cinnamon crunch bagel with cream cheese. My toast was burnt, chipped beef was Sysco and tasteless, hash brown was soggy, and my effing danish had a hair in it. I took it to the front and they offered a new one..... um no. I've already lost my appetite. I wanted a refund. Finally got it. Husbands bagel was mediocre he said Panera was better and that's sad coming from a small local bagel shop. Even my orange juice was sour. How tf can you screw up a bottle of orange juice? Tropicana never tastes like that! I would know because that's all I buy for my home! I'm writing this review because I was curious to see how others had rated this place after I'd first tried their food. I'm kind of shocked to see so many good reviews. I hate to be so critical, especially for a restaurant that's locally owned and not a chain because there's very little of that in Salisbury, but these bagels are really bad. They almost taste like how the word 'beige' sounds. Their breakfast sandwich (sausage egg and cheese) is one of the worst I've had too. I figure it would just be more worth it to go to Dunkin'. The food is great but today my son an I went in and we got really weird vibes from the ladies working up Front. Almost as though we weren't welcome I felt racist vibes. The older lady wasnt friendly at all and kept whispering to the other lady not saying that she was whispering about us it's just that it doesn't look professional at all. Then I watched the older lady go in the back and grab a tray something was in it she took her finger and scraped it out then put it with the rest of the trays. They have a math disability and overcharge. This place charges you 10 cents to slice your bagel and even if you tell them NO you get charged on a dozen take out bagels. What a way to nickle and dime your customers, literally. No one else has ever charged me to slice a bagel. read more

Not everything is vegan so no 5 stars for me but it has great vegan goodies, and I would highly recommend this place if you're looking for a bagel sandwich with nice fresh ingredients! I have been dragged into going for over 10years with multiple friends etc and I regret every single one. If you're going go use fake eggs and give me 1 I said ONE. did you hear that? i've gotta say that I've been to this place 3 or 4 times in the last couple of months and I've been really pleased with my food each time. I usually try different breakfast bagels each time i go and they have all been great. Probably woulda been 5 stars, but on a couple visits the employees made it seem like a was a burden when placing my order. i'll most certainly be going there again soon, and you should definitely give it a try. convenient location too. read more

I'm very lucky to have two terrific bagel places so close to me, and this one is within walking distance of my house! These bagels are true NY bagels, or at least close enough for me. My favorite item is the Crab Dip Melt. Yes, it's a bagel with crab dip, Old Bay, and cheese toasted to gooey perfection. The breakfast bagel sandwiches are delicious and filling. The "bagel bites" are a must-try! They are little pieces of baked bagel dough heaven topped with different kinds of icing. The shop is neat and clean. Nice folks run the place. I've seen the same people working there for the past few years, which usually means they enjoy it. My one criticism is that they're often out of most kinds of bagels by about 12:30 or so. Bagel Bakery is a nice choice for breakfast in Salisbury. They have a wide variety of made-on-site bagels (obviously), breakfast sandwiches, as well as some lunch options. My choice besides a bacon egg & cheese is either the pizza bagel or the crab melt bagel, both of which are delicious. Firstly I just wanna say their portion control is terrible. The thinnest tiniest slice of bacon on my sandwich and wrap I've ever seen. They just threw that with the egg straight in the microwave didn't even really toast our bagels and sent us on our way. They also forgot our side. Overall bad experience considering I spent around 20$ in the store on very bad quality breakfast meats. GET THICK CUT OR JUST PUT MORE MEAT ON UR SANDWICHES AND MAYBE MORE PEOPLE WOULD COME IN. read more
