I'm newer to the area and needed to find a quick bagel shop without the commute. I tried this bagel shop under the previous owners and I was disappointed. Randy came in and really turned the place around. Bagels are solid, coffee is rich and the service has been wonderful. As for the bagels they are crusty on the outside and soft in the inside, no toasting needed. If you're grabbing some singles to take home it'll cost you about $1.25 and a coffee/bagel with cream cheese is just over $4. Was down in Middlesex picking something up for Wifey during this COVID-19 mess and needed some breakfast. This area has changed so much over the past 20 years I didn't know where to stop so I gave Bagel Bistro a shot. Ordered a quick Taylor Ham, egg and cheese on an everything bagel (with salt, pepper, ketchup of course) and grabbed a coffee...all to go. Server was very nice and friendly. The coffee was pretty good, but the sandwich was just ok...bagel was a little small and I can't be sure, but the meat may not have been actual Taylor Ham-tasted different. I'd try them again if in the area...I certainly would love to give them another chance. read more

I came back here to have a few more selections. I had a Taylor ham and cheese with hash brown on an onion bagel. The bagel was once again stuffed. The hash brown was crispy and went well with the Taylor ham and cheese. The cheese was not melted all the way through, however. The onion bagel disappointed. There was a lack of onion flavor. I also made my own sandwich using their Parmesan bagel. I used my own bologna, American cheese, and spicy mustard. This bagel was crispy. GREATEST Bagel experience period! Alfie's service was on point. Bagel was perfect, warm, light crust, not to dense, perfect chewy bite ;) The cream cheese was loaded as expected in any legit spot! French Toast with the Strawberry cream cheese is like Sunday Brunch all wrapped up in beautiful wax paper lol. We also got a couple Egg Sandwiches that were awesome! 2 Eggs, lots of bacon and cheese, SPK, Mayo and Hot Sauce prepared perfectly. Great job guys. I'll be back tmrw read more

Great neighborhood bagel shop. I hadn't been here in quite a while but I've stopped by a few times recently and I've been very happy. Great selection of fresh bagels and very nice friendly employees which hasn't always been the case under previous ownership. Also very reasonable prices... Definitely recommend! Go to bagel stadium in Bound Brook instead, it's about 8 minutes up the road and worth the extra few miles. This place is terribly mismanaged. Bagels are often greasy from staff not changing their gloves in between serving. I've gotten a bacon, egg, and cheese from here several times out of convenience. Each time the entire outside was covered in grease. The bagels themselves aren't fresh. They are often hard and rather small. In addition, it appears that they do not make enough. Usually they run out early in the morning. This is a bagel place, they should have bagels in stock at least until 11 or 12. Otherwise, why stay open? To top it off, they up charge you stating that prices on the menu are inaccurate. Then the guy smiles and quotes your total in Pennies. I think he means for it to be endearing, but it comes off annoying and rude. read more

I have been here before and this was by far my worse visit here. A young girl had taken my order and managed to somehow mess the toast part up . I ordered wheat toast with my omelette and white toast with my daughters egg platter and somehow we ended up wth Rye toast. My husband order at first sausage, egg and cheese but then they said they didn't have sausage patties only links. I ordered a western omelette which looked ok when I go it from the outside until I dug in . The omelette was cooked well all the way through. So it was pretty wet and slimy in the middle. So I ate around the edges . I have to say prices were pretty high for a breakfast bagel and egg platter. I paid $27 for omelette, two egg platter , bagel sandwich and a Panini . I have a bagel spot by my job and pay $4 for a breakfast sandwich. I guess I will be finding another spot to have bagels . read more

I've been going here since I was in high school( 15+ years) , it was called bagel bop( bakes on premises) over the years since the owner sold it it has become horrible... it's always hit or miss... sometimes the food is spot on with great customer service to match other time( more frequently as of late) it's stale food croissants are never fresh, pre cooked bacon that's burnt or too well done and with bland customer service to match. Today I went in for a bacon egg and cheese on a croissant with extra bacon; I asked the woman on the phone if the croissants were fresh, she said yes I placed my order and asked for my bacon to be soft or fresh but not well done... she placed the order. I get there 7 mins later and check my other hard croissant and burnt bacon... I tell her my bacon is burnt and she says sorry what would you like for me to do... I asked to speak to her manager, she was coming out of the back, and she rolls her eyes and gore back to the kitchen... seething at this point... I take my crappie sandwich and I'm on my way... this place is hit or miss never consistently good. Sometimes the order is right sometimes it's not... good luck read more

Dont waste your time. I ordered a bagel roasted with cream cheese and bacon. Waited 15 min. I get that it was a little busy, so I'm not bothered with the wait. What pissed me off is that the girl toasted the bagel right after I ordered it. So now the toasted bagel sat on the counter and got ice cold. I finally get the bagel, and tell the girl that it's cold now. So she takes it in the back, and brings it back out to me. I later discovered that she threw it in the microwave. I only have wonderful things to say about this place. The bagels are amazing, always fresh... wraps and salads are great, coffee is delicious, it's clean and the staff is always friendly and nice. Great place! A little pricy but that's inevitable...I haven't been to a bagel shop where the price hasn't gone up every year. The croissants and fresh and puffy! The bagel choices are great! They have new creative flavors every now and then. They also have cool cream cheese flavors. One of the owners likes to experiment and whip up new concoctions. The old owners and new owners are pretty cool. Super nice people who always tries and make your visit fun. The food, of course, is great. I always get the sausage egg and cheese on a croissant SPK w/pepper jack. My favorite thing about this place is actually a very simple one, and I think every place should offer this! Terrible service this morning. We called our order in at 8:30am and did not get it until 9:30. There is no seperate line for call in orders that are ready. I had to wait in line for 30 minutes while other people who did not call in ordered their food and got served first. Also stop taking your mask off to talk to me. Why even wear a mask? I've been here many times because it's just the most convenient bagel shop near me. I am always dissatisfied, so shame on me for continuing to give them my service. The owner (manager maybe?) lady is super rude for no reason. The bagels are really hit or miss. I've had some that were fresh and amazing and others that had no taste or were stale. The breakfast sandwiches aren't very good, but I guess for the price they're alright. This place has no idea what 'lightly toasted with a little butter' means. They changed management in the last year or so. We used to live across the street and frequented there - it was one of our favorites. Made a visit back a few weeks ago and was a highly disappointed! My bagels were stale as soon as I got them! If you're a bagel place, at least get the bagels right! Plus I couldn't believe that they had the audacity to charge a hefty service fee for paying with a credit card! Glad I paid in cash for my stale bagels or I would have been even more mad! Writing this review on behalf of my father. He did a special order for 20 everything flagels (flat bagels) which he's done many times before and when to pick them up this morning. The gentleman working tried to give my dad, 20 standard everything bagels. When my dad insisted that he wasn't getting what he ordered, and asked instead to purchase the remaining 4 or 5 flagels that were on the shelf, the man refused, saying "I can't sell you those." Unusual experience, as normally the service is great and his special orders go through without any issues. read more

Timing- no line at 11am on a Tuesday, nice staff, 2 ladies behind the counter, chef/cook in the back. 2 eggs with cheese on an everything bagel, bagel was large, soft and chewy, not the most everything bagel I've ever had, but good, and I'm a total bagel snob. Coffee prepped behind the counter, total wait was 5 minutes. Can't discount what this place is like on the weekend but I think it's worth a shot for people who left because of bad customer service. read more
