GREAT bagels! I especially love the egg everything bagel. They don't put too much salt on the everything's bagels which is hard to find. I love their unique flavors- like the spinach one. The shop itself is a classic bagel store, there's plenty of seating and a huge counter with a variety of bagels and cream cheeses. The service is also very quick and the staff is super helpful and friendly! It was nice chatting with the lady that helped me out today. My only qualm is the cream cheese. I don't love their cream cheese, so I end up just getting a plain bagel and then putting my own cream cheese on it. That's the one thing I wish was different, otherwise it's an awesome spot! read more

Kinda basic. Bagel was fine but veggie cream cheese had little veggies / little flavor. I got mine on a sesame bagel which I appreciated did have a good amount of sesame seeds. Overall fine but I'm sure there's better around. read more

Nothing beats a bagel sandwich for breakfast so I got a pork roll, egg, and cheese with saltpepperketchup on a multigrain bagel. The barely scrambled egg was cooked to perfection and the bagel was very good, light enough that I wasn't chewing for days but with a structure that held up to the generous fillings. The only thing I would say is the multigrain bagel could've had a crispier crust, but this could've just been for this flavor of bagel because I also tried the everything bagel with veggie cream cheese and that bagel was excellent, the crust had just the bite you need on a bagel. I also appreciated that the cream cheese had fresh vegetables in it, you could tell it was homemade. Great bagels all around. read more

i've had bagel garden before when others brought it to a function and it's delicious ! i was driving past today and stopped to grab food to bring to the beach. i ordered 4 bagels - 1 multigrain. 1 plain. 1 everything wheat & 1 sesame seed. with a medium plain cream cheese and a medium sized chicken salad. it was $19 - which okay, sure. kind of steep but i know it's delicious. the chicken salad is amazing and fresh. very good - i expected that to be a higher price point. after i got my original ordered i decided to ask for a small side of butter. it was $3.50 - for a small side of butter. i'll be hoping someone brings snacks from here the rest of my life, due to pricing i wont be the purchaser. read more

Tried this spot for the first time today and had a great experience! With so many options in the area this was a total winner. We ordered a sesame bagel with cream cheese and BEG on a plain bagel and both were perfectly portioned, heated and filled. The taste was perfect in toastiness to soft texture. We also ordered a crumb cake that was delicious. Best of all everything was prepared speedy. The shop itself is clean and you can see as they prepare your food. I had 2 more bagels that I tried here. I had a sesame seed bagel and a cinnamon raisin bagel. Regarding the sesame seed bagel, I added my own mozzarella cheese and some pepperoni while toasting it. It was very good. There were plenty of sesame seeds and the bagel was of appropriate size. There was also a nice texture to it. I just added my own strawberry jelly to the cinnamon raisin bagel. This was also good. I would have preferred a little more of a cinnamon taste, but nothing drastic. There were enough raisins present for my liking. read more

I debated on whether or not to post a review on The Bagel Garden because it's a disappointment this time. We stopped to get a taylor ham , egg and cheese sandwich on a bagel and a bagel with vegetable cream cheese. I also had my hubby get 6 oz of the veggie cream cheese on its own. Well here is the disappointment for me: His bagel sandwich was perfect. What I got was a plain bagel with nothing on it and the container of cream cheese was also plain. I was sooo upset! Kind of silly because I should have looked at before I got to my daughter's home! This has never happened to us at this place. Because it isn't a bargain I guess it got to me. Ah yes, one of the many gems of Branchburg New Jersey; The Bagel Garden. Talk about nostalgia(lol)... no but really, is there a more classic bagel spot in the area? I think not. I have loved this place since I was a young buck and now, as a grown stag, I am reminded of why. Quality, quality, quality. A mom and pop which has evolved into a bustling business and yet has kept the ambience as the pride of New Jersey. My only complaint and what makes this a 4 instead of a 5 star establishment is that, due to the shear volume of customers on most days, the store is so overwhelmed that quality is diminished for speed-but not by much. Pass by this place on way home and decided to try it. Can't give it a 3.5. So went with the 4. The friendliest morning staff. Went back a second time and they were equally as friendly. And the third visit. The best welcoming morning staff ever. My sausage egg and cheese on tosted bagel sandwich was slightly on the darker side of toasted. But the sandwich was good. The bagels I got were all fresh. The new one I never heard of. "The Power" bagel was really good. Only place seen this bagel is at this place. Definitely will be returning. Stopped in here quick on a way to a training up north not really knowing what to expect, but based on the reviews had high hopes. To answer your next question, yes, the food was awesome. The bacon egg and cheese was about average, nothing wrong but nothing spectacular. However, their cinnamon toast bagel toasted with butter was..... like altering. I have never had a bagel so good in my life, that bagel toasted with butter made a buttery sticky sugary dream and it was honestly something I wished I got wayyyyyy more of. Service was quick as with most bagel places they know how to handle business. The ambiance was what you expect from a little bagel shop small area of seating and just a glorious glass cabinet of bagels for you to salivate over (especially the cinnamon toast.... Been going to these guys for years. Everyone there is always so nice and professional. The one guy who is always there (sorry I don't know his name) but I assume he is the owner always goes out of his way to say hello to all the customers. Their bagels are by far the best around. Not too doughy, always fresh. I usually get chicken salad at lunch or an Egg Sandwich at breakfast. They never disappoint. Plus they throw in a bag of chips in with the lunch sandwich's which is a nice touch. Their coffee is pretty good too! read more

When I called to place a pickup order, the young lady who took my order was exceptionally friendly, which stood out to me since people aren't always that pleasant over the phone. I've been here my entire life or at least the 20+ years it's been open. Not enough good things can be written about this township favorite, it's truly the buzz of the town for decades, all come here for the best in breakfast goods not limited to bagels but their array of prepared foods, a restaurant essentially but with bistro/cafe-style self-seating, deli/bodega-like array of goods to buy, and reliably fulfilling attentive service and cooking quality. The reliability, steadiness, and warm servers/staff make it a hit always. As for the food, I've only infrequently personally eaten here but their classic egg, cheese, and bacon is so very hearty, always makes my morning much better when I get one. It's greasiness and spiciness and other elements are changeable based on your preferences as they always make it fresh to order. Service is always brisk even at peak rush hour, 7:20a, with a seemingly perpetual staff of young HS-aged folks and the Korean couple who're likely the owners. Seating is around a dozen tables seating 4-6 seat, the usual cafe-type steel-bar with fomica-topped tables & sturdy cafeteria-style chairs. They're also a TransBridge ticket agent which is important in this township and for its neighboring ones. Their TV is often tuned to the morning news, fit for the venue and crowds. read more

So they don't advertise it, but they're definitely under new management now. I'm so disappointed! Big downgrade staff-wise. The last time I stopped by (just a few weekends ago), there were very few bagels when we arrived, which was around 9:30AM. They had a surplus of plain bagels and almost nothing else! Plus, bagels were in incorrectly marked baskets. It was confusing and sloppy. The quality is still okay, I guess. But the new staff seems to care a lot less than the old staff. That says it in a nutshell, because Bagel Garden exceeds average in every way. So this is what I've got to say, if you haven't been there yet ? You're doing yourself a disservice if you don't make it a to go there. You can either get it to go or eat there. Or you could do both? I went once and I've been there multiple times since. No hairnets = hair in eggs They get more than one star for my decent past experiences but today was poor. It was busy but for some reason my egg white western sandwich took longer than not only the people before me but those after me as well. The cherry on top was my discovery of hairs throughout my sandwich. I'm not going to post pictures but suffice to say the hair was likely one long hair in the eggs that was chopped into bits. I frequent the Bagel Garden nearly every weekend and occasionally during the week. The food is great and all the people there are very friendly even when it gets very crowded. I was in the store and witnessed the unfortunate dialog mentioned on 4/28/2018. Everything written is true. However, this is not the norm and I think exceptions can and should be made for a "bad day". I have been the beneficiary of Tom the owner's fantastic customer service on a number of occasions. The counter help is always ready with a smile and a greeting by name. Everything is very clean. Look forward to visiting again next weekend. read more

I've been coming here for years, it's a hidden gem in this area. I have never heard of Bagel Garden until my friend took me here. The bagels are so fresh and taste just as great! My favorites are the egg, cinnamon raisin, and new power bagels! I love to get peanut butter on mine or other occasions I'll get a Blt or pork roll, egg, and cheese which are all very good! I've never had a problem here, no long waits, food is served to your table, clean environment. I usually just grab a snapple or fruit juice in one of their coolers, haven't had their coffee so I can't comment. It's close to home, affordable, fast, and delicious. I've been to Bagel Garden many times. They have a spacious dining area and a lot of non bagel baked goods. The drink selection is very good but I do wish they had fountain drinks also. Bagel Garden sells a lot of Pork Roll sandwiches for good reason. They also have a large number of lunch deli items. Everything I've ever had from Bagel Garden is great and in the two years I've been coming the staff has been almost unchanged. Clearly a place that holds onto employees and customers for good reason. read more
