Poppy seed bagel? With cream cheese. Not what I ordered but still good. Make sure to check your order before you leave.
    Reyna M.

There are bagels and cream cheese are really delicious. But unfortunately, I would not recommend coming here. As much as I love their bagels, the service is really slow. Definitely not a place to come if you're in a rush. Today I ordered a plain bagel with cream cheese and was given the wrong kind of bagel. It also took around 10 minutes to get my order. I thought maybe they forgot my order, but there were several people waiting, including one person who was in line right before me for quite a while. I know they sell their bagels to a few places in town. Definitely great quality bagels, but not so great service.

Delicious and truly one of the best bagel places! Ordered the usual Irish Special with jalapeño cream cheese on a herb cheese bagel. Such a nice soft fresh bagel. Been here a few times with my college kiddo and it never disappoints.

Bagel Cafe is a staple in Isla Vista! This was such a great spot to go in college the next morning after a late night. You can pretty much always guarantee there will be people dining here and everything is made fresh to order. I love their selection of bagel options. The Eggle Plus tends to be my go to. Such a good spot and they even make lunch options, in the event you go after breakfast.

Bagel Cafe is an Isla Vista classic that never disappoints! I have been. couple times and am surprised that I have yet to leave a review! I try something different each time I go, but I would have to say one of my go-to orders is a toasted garlic bagel with chipotle smear! SO GOOD! Service is super quick and the people working are always so helpful. The Emma and a classic BLT of pesto bagel always hit the spot too. A chill, laid back spot to hit the get your day started or for an afternoon pick me up!

I went to school here 11 years ago so I'm biased, but this place has the most delicious bagel sandwich combinations I have EVER had. Whenever I come back to Santa Barbara I make sure to stop by. Most recently I came for my bachelorette party - my girls and I went two days in a row and even picked some up to take home. Prepare to wait 20+ min on busy days (and for their popular melted sandwiches) but it's worth it. My tip is to get your coffee somewhere else.

Quality yummy goodness provided by an amazing family who understands that it's not just about running a business, it's about the folx and community they serve. Integrity and quality are often brushed aside when there is a profit to be made. But, the owners of The Bagel Cafe have been feeding the SB and IV community for decades and continues to hold high their standards. I can't wait to get back there and order up an Eggle Plus with bacon and cheddar! Check out their Throwback letter to the community! https://spoton-prod-websites-user-assets.s3.amazonaws.com/static/uploads/files/LjMbp8DiQim3x1UXRppQ_Throwback%20Price%20Letter%20to%20Customers.pdf

Maybe more a 3.5** grab and go spot with some outdoor seating. pretty good bagels but I'm used to something a little fluffier to contrast with the crispy outside. these are a little on the flatter side. i got chive cream cheese on a galaxy bagel and it was pretty good but i didn't taste too much of the chive. the tomatoes are really fresh though & the pepper on top is chefs kiss. my sister who actually lives here gets tbe earth wind and fire bagel on a jalapeño bagel and i tried some of hers and it was really good - perf if you like spice and i think it wld be a pretty effective hangover cure. she says she can always use more sriracha on it! it gets busy here so get here early to beat the line!

Every time I'm in Santa Barbara I have to stop by at bagel cafe. It's a hole in the wall place nothing fancy but they have amazing bagels. I love how the menu is so big it has a huge variety of different kinds of bagels. There is something for everyone on the menu. I also love how they have weekly specials. I think I went on a Thursday and it was lox day. I've tried different kinds of bagels but my top two is the taxi driver and the cream cheese tomato. Service is great and so are the prices.

iv bagel slays boots the house down. absolutely wonderful prices, great hazelnut coffee. employees are all baddies. taxi driver melt is the best hangover cure in iv.

    so many good bagels!

BEST BAGELS IN IV! I stopped by to grab a quick bagel (definitely recommended the regular) and was greeted by the lovely services of Nelson and Devin! They were so welcoming and quite the bagel experts. I was the last bagel order of the day and they sent me home with enough bagels to feed a village. Yippee!

    The Hampton Bagel (bottom)
    Erika T.

I was visiting my friend up at UCSB and she took me to Bagel Cafe since it's a popular bagel spot in the area. I should've trusted my first choice of getting a hot breakfast bagel, but I changed my mind last minute and decided to try the Hampton bagel because I like bagels with smoked salmon. Big mistake. I know it was what I ordered that made my experience bad because my friend's bagel was really good. The Hampton bagel super messy to eat due to the box it came in and the big tomato slices. The flavor was kind of bland and there was so much lemon pepper that it overpowered everything. So, don't get the Hampton Bagel unless you love lemon pepper overpowering your bagel. Aside from the bagel, the space inside was really small, so you just order and wait outside- the wait for us was about 10-15 minutes. There are tables outside for eating as well. The parking is a bit tough since it's only street parking, so you have to get lucky with parking unless it's not busy. I'd come here again if I was visiting but order something different.

Their Squash Blossom pastry is seasonal, but I hope they bring it back because it is so good. I'm also huge fan of their brunch! Their Blue Crab Crepe is incredible. If you're only going to get one entree for brunch, get this one! It comes with two delicate crepes, the tastiest lemon hollandaise, chives, and lots of crab meat inside! Soo good! The Duck Confit Hash was another winner. It comes with crispy potatoes, hollandaise, pickled fresno chile, cilantro, and poached egg. I enjoyed the Parmesan, sundried tomato, and basil quiche as well! They also offer a Seasonal Handcut Pasta Dish which changes. It's from Aperitivo, and they make such good fresh pasta! They also have a coffee and pastry counter if you want to grab something to-go. You do not want to miss out on the pastries, and the display sure catches your eye. Along with our main we split a morning bun which was flaky and just the right amount of sweet. As we were walking out I noticed some sandwiches that looked extra tasty as well. We kept it simple and split the Dutchess Breakfast Plate since we had quite a bit of eating planned for the day, but it was more than enough to satiate us alongside the pastry. It comes with these massive, crispy and spiced potatoes, big slabs of Niman Ranch bacon, tomato chutney, thick-cut sourdough toast and two eggs. At $22 this isn't cheap, but the quality is there and I would order this again just for those potatoes.
