The cashier ( who seemed like an owner ) was very sweet and kind and you can tell they get good business considering there are hardly any bagel options on this side of town. I grabbed a Ken's favorite on a rosemary olive oil bagel . Would've loved if the bagel was actually toasted . The bagel was just ok overall - absolutely not worth the $15 . Seems like most others come for the egg breakfast sandwiches . I don't think I'd come back and would rather spend the money on gas to drive outside of mckinney to grab a quality bagel . This is as good of a New York-style bagel you're going to get in McKinney, TX. (The only place to get the best tasting, most authentic NY bagels is... NYC.) The bagels were nice and big and soft on the inside. The classic chicken salad was elevated by dill and tasted amazing on two slices of toasted sourdough with cheese, bacon, and fresh lettuce and tomato. The Spicy One, a jalapeño cheddar bagel filled with egg, cream cheese, and jalapeños, was also delicious. Don't miss the fresh squeezed lemonade! They offer several flavors. We went with strawberry and it was perfectly tart and not-too-sweet. The staff were great, friendly and helpful answering questions. Not sure what has happened but the cinnamon raisin bagels are nowhere near as good as they used to be. Almost a plain bagel now with a hint of what could be. When they first opened they had the best ones and now they are just ok. Please bring back the old recipe. read more

Darn it. We always go across Frisco to Bagelology for our bagels and it takes forever to get there. We were excited to try Bagel Cafe. What a disappointment. It's just so odd... all the bagels tasted pretty much the same. Just lacked flavor. For example, the blueberry bagel barely tasted blueberry. The everything bagel was just a plain bagel with a ton of the same seasoning you would find at the grocery store. The lox spread was VERY meh. Hardly any lox to speak of and tasted like slightly flavored cream cheese. Bottom line: I wish the place well and hope they work on their flavor profiles, however until that happens, it's Bagelology for us! read more

Decided to go try it out today, driving past Einstein Bagels to give a small business more customers. I was disappointed as 1 of the 3 bagels I purchased was stale. The pricing was good on the 2 normal bagels I purchased however I was intrigued as I was charged 8.10 for a bagel with just eggs and turkey slices. The menu prices had listed an egg bagel at 4.00 with the extra for sliced turkey 2.50 so not sure how the subtotal got to 8.10. 2/5 stars for 2 good bagels. read more

We usually have to drive into Dallas to go to Shug's for good bagels. I was excited to see a new place opened up here that was not Einstein. Finally got to try Bagel Cafe after seeing a lot of posts on a food group and I really like them! We've been excited to try Bagel Café since the sadness of it taking over our old Tealatte Bar spot. They were shockingly bland- everything was, from fillings to the bagels themselves. Salt was totally absent and we needed to season our food ourselves at home from scratch- then it became tolerable. Excessive butter on untoasted bagel is inedible. Not staffed properly for peak hours. Staff member with long hair/all black working toaster and eggs/meats wears only 1 glove. I was informed that the owner was from that area and this place has the greatest bagels I've had since I left NJ.
