Today we ordered from Chalet, the first time we've done this (normally I pick up). The order came timely enough, but that's were the positives end. First, inside the bag was the was one incorrect order and the correct one came on a bagel so stale I had to microwave it with a damp paper towel to make it edible. I called about the incorrect order and first a woman answered. She was polite, acknowledged the error and offered to send another order or provide a credit. I said thank you, declined the additional food - my sandwich was incorrect, but one I was willing to accept. I figured this was the first time and I don't need to make a big deal about it, just clear it up. (For context I received a BEC, scrambled on a toasted bagel, I had ordered a BEC w/ peppers, onion, SPK, fried, on a roll). I asked how would the credit work. With that she put on man who once I explained again what had happened immediately told me it was the drivers fault and I needed to call him. (The bag was closed with one correct and one incorrect order... but the it's driver's fault). This annoyed me and I ask what do I have to do with that to he responded, it's not their fault or problem if the driver gives us the wrong order... our call ended here from his response and tone. This is my first help review is a very long time, but between the quality of food, lack of accountability, and customer service it was enough to inspire me to come back. Bagel chalet gets two stars... four stars for past experience knocked by two for today. Maybe we'll go back, maybe not. There are plenty of other choices around here. One thing is for sure. If I do, I won't take delivery. read more

Very disappointed to be writing this review. My family has been ordering breakfast from this place every weekend for the last few months. I even grew up in Commack and frequented the original location. Three weeks ago our order came in with a missing item. Last week there were mistakes in two of our 7 sandwiches. This week they bagged a bagel that was so burnt (picture in closed) we thought it was pumpernickel instead of the plain toasted bagel we ordered. I understand employees are in high demand. However, I would rather wait an extra ten minutes for my food if it means the orders are bagged and prepared correctly. Other issues we've had are iced beverages packed in the same bag as hot food. We had buttered bagels packed next to hot egg sandwiches so that when we opened the bagels they were soggy butter sponges. This place has great food. It's a shame that our experience, and likely that of others has to be so tainted by careless errors in quality assurance. read more

We order lunch for 2 days once a week since my husband and I are both working remotely. Food is delicious and fresh.

In terms of the food quality, it's okay. We ordered two egg sandwich's one on a bagel with bacon and avacado and one with what was to supposed to have bacon and ketchup. Both sandwiches were cold and sloppily thrown together and the egg with ketchup and bacon was missing the bacon despite having it marked off on the order slip attached to the sandwich. Which leads me into my next point, the service, there was about 15 people behind the counter who all looked like they were either sleep walking or had no interest being there. The gentleman who greeted me at the counter looked like he was in another universe and had to call out 3 times to the group of teenage girls who were supposed to be handling the mobile orders, but were obviously more interested in talking to each other rather than working. I wouldn't recommend this deli. It's Merrick, you'll be able to find a deli of better quality without much effort. read more

Tried it recently for the first time. Bought a variety of bagels and tuna salad. The tuna salad was good, nothing special, but good. Unfortunately the bagels are subpar. There are multiple other local bagel stores with much, much better bagels. The bagels here were just not good. Even if all of the spreads are delicious, it's tough to recommend a bagel store with subpar bagels. read more

If I could give more than 5 stars I would. I have been searching for a good chopped salad for soooo soooo long and can't find one like this anywhere!
