Watch out for the sneak upsell. I came in for a bagel with lox and another with lox & cream cheese (under $7 each on the bagel board), and the counter person said those come with mac or potato salad or slaw. Adding a half cup of salad and a pickle made it $17 each instead!!! That's supposedly the "Novalicious" on the sandwich board, which is also supposed to have lettuce & tomato too (not added or offered to me, else I might have been more clued in to the sneak upsell). This is a fantastic bagel store; one of the best on the island, which has some of the best bagels in the world. I have had many great sandwiches and breakfast items here. The drawback is that there is always a long line and chaos among the customers and staff there. Still cannot dent the quality and excellence. One strange thing today, in my latest visit since the Cove at 19 pandemic; I got a tuna salad sandwich and the man gave it to me without a side salad or a pickle. Pretty big bagel/deli operation going on here. Large selection of all types of salads and cream cheeses. Unfortunately though, unlike the Oceanside location, Bellmore is not open 24 hours. Adequate seating is available. The bagels are a nice size, and in my opinion, a notch above most other L.l. bagel joints. They usually have a good number of employees churning out the crowd during peak hours so you're never waiting too long. Staff is generally friendly. I usually order some type of bagel sandwich which comes with a side salad and pickle. Prices are not cheap, but they don't hit you over the head too hard. read more

What I didn't appreciate was the woman telling me what i ordered . Some may say toasted or not... no big deal. She did then offer to correct order , but at that point i ran out of time. I came to "Long Island Bagel Cafe" in Bellmore because the place looked good from the outside. The color scheme was all over the place so it was worth a visit. Parking is right off the road, but not a lot of spots, but luckily I came early, so I found one quickly. Heading inside, the place is beautiful and clean. At the counter you don't wait long for help. The staff is friendly and help with your order. They also told me they make their cream cheese in house. That's great for my next visit, but this time I was thinking egg sandwich. They put it together really quick and I was off to try it. Now let me start by saying, it was good. I would eat it again, but the home fries were bland and I could live without them. But the complete sandwich had enough of everything I needed. Again, if you like exotic home made cream cheese, and soft bagels, this is your spot! However, home fries are another story. read more

Whenever I am back on Long Island.. I make it a point to go get some bagels from the Long Island Bagel cafe.. a lot of other people usually have the same ideas because there have been times that I've gone and the line is wrapped around the store. Don't let that deter you though because the bagels are worth it and the line moves decently fast. I have even been in line on a busy Sunday and they have a guy playing and singing tunes with his guitar. They have so many options for creamcheeses. They even have dairy free options! The bagels are so fluffy and are usually still warm. Also, their egg salad, tuna salad and white fish salad are a must to add to your bagel order. read more

I have been coming to the place for a couple of years now....never a problem. This past Monday, my husband and I went there and we were greeted and helped by a smiling women who had a Spanish accent. We ordered 2 everything flagels, toasted and buttered. As she was finishing our order my husband noticed she had 2 bagels instead of the flagels in her hand. My husband mentioned to her that we ordered flagels, not bagels. Well her smiling face swiftly left and after she was done with the correct order she said, "Let me ring you up before you have any other problems". Excuse me? I wish I was the one that heard her as I would have asked to speak to the manager. How rude, not even an apology for messing up the order. Because of her attitude they just lost regular customers. LI Bagel Café of Bellmore I cannot in all honesty give it a fair star rating as I have not eaten there. I stopped by today. I notice really nice lovely flower pots outside and around the store. There was nothing I saw with hours of operation. It was after 6 and while there were two girls working in the store in view behind the glass, the doors were locked. There was no cooperation of even asking a question or to ask when they are open. I got the throat cut sign along with the no head shaking and then no response from either of them. Ok, I get it. They were closed. Today one can't be too careful and I expect perhaps that likely they were directed by their employers to not respond to people once they closed. Yet, even giving them the benefit of the doubt, I did find it rather annoying. Tut-tut on me. What I found was it is a corner store in a lot of stores on the north side of the street with angular parking, easy if you're going that way but with much care if you are on the other side of the street to turn around. As there are many bagel stores and I am not usually in this area, I can't say much more about it, though I wanted to share my experience of it today and perhaps maybe in the area I will stop in when they are open, or perhaps maybe I won't. P.S. I did get a yummy pretzel from the Philly Pretzel store on the same side opposite corner. (See review) So, if you are in the area and it's not about bagels stop by and meet the nice people there and get yourself a fresh pretzel while you are at it. read more

Bellmore Bagel Cafe would not honor a first time customer coupon for 6 free bagels. I just moved to Long Island and thought to try out this place when I received a coupon in the mail. They said they do not honor these on the weekend or on holidays but that is not listed anywhere on the coupon. I'm not going to go back and wont be a customer going forward but I think they should change the coupon to reflect what they actually accept or not run these altogether. We have been going to B-Caf for years!!! My kids frequent there every Sat and/or Sunday. We love the bagels. Recently , my son moved to South Carolina. Every time we go he asks me to bring a dozen bagels and Lox CC. If I could fit 2 dozen in my carry on I would!! The past 2 times I brought him bagels there were only 11. Now... My favorite place for breakfast or lunch....BEFORE they remodeled. Place is very nice, but they forgot to tell the staff that you're NOT supposed to let a customer stand at the counter for 5 minutes (LITERALLY) without asking them what they'd like. Its not like they were busy (3 women sitting at a table in an otherwise empty store) Thae old version had lines out the door and you got your food quickly and even occasionally, with a smile. I placed a pick up order for 2-flat everything bagels with cream cheese at 10:15am, fairly straight-forward order in my opinion. With it being a busy place I set modest expectations and received notification from doordash my order was ready for pick-up, get there at 10:35am and did not get to walk out until a little after 11:00am as I watched countless people come in after me, order in person, and then walk out before me. After asking for help, I was given an explanation that only 1-2 people work the pick up orders and the other 10+ workers handle the line and move that faster and there was nothing they could do about that as in-store orders take priority. I have never felt more under appreciated as a customer thinking that pick-up orders were supposed to be faster but here it's the complete opposite... read more

I would not go to the Bellmore location again. For over $6, it should be good. This was hardly edible. Oceanside and LB locations are great. I got a bagel in the morning, so it should have been fresh, but it tasted stale-- at least 2 days old. I didn't get it toasted, so it shouldn't have been as hard as it was. Also, half of the bagel was burnt. The everything bagel didn't taste like an everything bagel-- the ratio of seeds to onion and salt was off. They didn't carry veggie-tofu cream cheese (LB and Oceanside do, & since this is a chain the menu should be the same). The tofutti cream cheese is right next to the bacon cheese, and bc it's located at the side, they have to go over the bacon, so chances of cross-contamination are high, which is a problem-- If you are getting tofu cream cheese you're likely either Jewish or vegan, in which case you can't have dairy or bacon. The bagel I got was gross-- I was so hungry, but I couldn't finish it. read more

This is one of the few places on Long Island that carry gluten free bagels, which come from No Gluten Kneaded. When I actually get my order, it's delicious, but I have never in my life dealt with staff that were so disgustingly rude. Normally I call my order in ahead of time because I understand the GF bagels sell out and they only have limited quantity a week. Twice now I've placed my order for pick up, only to arrive and find out they don't have any GF bagels. Obviously, this is something I wish they'd tell me ahead of time because then I'm left without breakfast for the day. Today I called in my order and asked if they could confirm if they had GF bagels before I made my way over there. The woman on the phone was so rude and said "I have a line I'm not running back and forth to check if it's there." I tried explaining that I just didn't want to get there to find out they didn't have one and she HUNG UP ON ME! I'm sorry- I know you're busy, I called during a busy time of morning, but are you kidding??? Put me on hold or something, I'm willing to be patient. Not to mention, I'm a paying customer too. One who is paying an additional $4 for my order since it has to be gluten free. Absolutely love the bagels, cream cheeses, etc and the staff is absolutely wonderful most of the time... But I'd say a solid 90% of the time I get home and open my bag to find that my order is incorrect. I've even started writing down the order and handing it to them (not complicated, by the way - 2 fried eggs with bacon and cheese on an everything bagel) and it's STILL wrong a good portion of the time. One of my favorite bagel places in Long Island. I used to work in the area so I was a frequent customer. Bagels, flagels, cookies, muffins, OH MY! All are delicious. Sometimes they also put out free panini samples that are to die for. The coffee is amazing. I typically don't like bagel place coffees but theirs is really good, AND AND AND...they have SO MANY CREAMERS to choose from! Line can get long, it moves fast. I always try to be positive before saying something negative, so here goes. I like this place...they remodeled and expanded and it looks really nice. Bagels are good and the staff is helpful but could smile more. The wait time is at times unacceptable and there is no shortage of staff at this location. I treat myself to a bacon and egg sandwich every now and again and Bagel cafe WAS my go to until I was charged $1.00 for a swipe of butter on my sandwich. $1.00!! I was shocked. Bagels used to be cooked really nice and they were huge. It was my go to spot. Went in on Friday, bought 3 dozen assorted bagels and it was 54.00. Got home and opened it up and realized the bagels were considerably smaller and all were over cooked. What a disappointment. Hard, chewy, dry inside. This is the only bagel store we are regulars at. My coworkers like going here too. The bagels are a good size, light and fluffy. There is a great variety of flavors and cream cheeses. If you feel like going for a fun bagel, get the tye-dye bagel with cake batter cream cheese. It's not too sweet and delicious way to start your morning. There are long lines on weekends at times but the staff does their best getting customers in and out. I found in weekdays the bagel store is less crowded. Parking does get a bit tight on the weekends. The street parking on the main road is very difficult. There is a parking lot in the back, but it can get filled up pretty fast as the lot shares with a few other businesses. If both are full, usually parking on one of the side streets work as well. read more

Nice live music, that's where it ended. came here at 11a.m. today, 4.24.2022 and had the worst breakfast "meal". -Knew it was going downhill when the employee asked multiple times what my wife and I were ordering, then never wrote it down. -The order- My Wife- Bacon, egg and avocado on French Toast. -The Result- Cold French Toast that had been grilled at some point, cold egg, cold bacon (obviously just taken out of the window), and no avocado, but had cheese, which she didn't order. - My Order- Buffalo Bill (WHICH IS A LIBC PREMADE SANDWICH) on a garlic bagel. - Cold toasted bread (not bagel), cold chicken cutlet with no buffalo sauce or blue cheese and a couple scraps of lettuce. ALSO up charged for avocado and bagel (didn't get either). I took one and half bites, and for the first time in my life, just threw the food in the garbage and walked out. Oh I had half a bag of chips and the pickle, the potato salad was more like a veggie salad but still edible.
