Wish I could give negative stars. I get more enthusiastic service when I go fill up my tank at the gas station. Bagels are overpriced and the size and quality is nothing to write home about. This used to be the best place in the neighborhood for bagels. Since new management, the order is almost always done slow, and wrong. There is a much larger selection of flavored cream cheese, if that matters that much to you? The bagels still taste alright too. Nothing fancy here - just good bagels. I don't think I've ever even gotten a bagel with anything on it from this place, but if you need a dozen bagels, you can't go wrong. I'll put bagel corner bagels up against any in the City. They have great bagel twists as well as some mini bagels, which are handy if you've got kids or just prefer a smaller portion size. read more

I found the service atrocious. Just flip through the comments to see similar experiences. I went at least 5 or 6 times, and took my family there because it is close by. Same bad experience. Best bagels in Riverdale. Gets crowded and it's to go only. It is also cash only as well but there are ATMs abound.

No frills order and take out spot. Cash only, and there's a definite vibe of expecting customers to just line up, hand over their money, and not expect more than the bare minimum exchange for it to still constitute a business transaction. Bagels are passable enough for a random grocery store, but quite disappointing for a place that sells itself as a specialist. Not big by any means, but what you do get is dense and doughy, almost as if it was pulled out of the oven before being ready. The cream cheese kind of just clumped up on top of the dough; again, a marker of the inconsistent, almost wet texture underneath. In addition, for a place that seems fairly busy, the bagel was not barely room temperature and not warm enough to offset the overly cold cream cheese. If other reviews are to be believed, this makes it even more questionable that they almost actively discourage requests for toasting, although not unexpected given the vibe discussed in my first paragraph above. Price for a bagel with regular cream cheese seemed fairly standard, but I don't quite get almost doubling the price for pretty standard flavor variations like veggie or scallion. I am fairly new to the neighborhood, so maybe I just caught them on bad day, but the overall sense I got was more that they used to be better and have gotten comfortable coasting on their rep/following and location. And neither their quality nor pricing justifies their lackluster customer service. I won't purposely avoid them forever and ever, but also don't see myself being drawn to return anytime soon. My daughter and I live around the corner from Bagel Corner. It is our go-to-place for bagels. They are GREAT -- crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. We LOVE THEIR BAGELS and have even shipped some to relatives in California. We tolerate and/or try to be amused by the reliable grumpiness of the employees. In the last 6 months though something has happened to their coffee. It is BITTER, BITTER, BITTER and not in the "Starbucks-Really-Strong-Coffee" kind of bitter. Something is up. If the coffee brand wasn't changed then the machine needs servicing. Twice this week after getting our bagels and coffee, I had to dump my coffee after a couple of sips. I have tried getting it lighter in the hopes that would improve the taste but nothing seems to help. I have spoken to others in the neighborhood and they agree the coffee is terrible. Too bad because the bagels really are quite good but who has time in the morning to go one place for coffee and another for a bagel? read more

So, Bagel Corner has great bagels. But, never order anything to be shipped. I asked for express delivery on 3 orders. They did not send express. Bagels in transit for 4 days and arrived to 2 of the 3 locations moldy. 3rd shipment never arrived. It may have been sent to the wrong address. But, I can't get the tracking numbers from owner of Bagel Corner. They refused to provide me with the tracking information. When I complained I was banned from the store. I have been a customer there for going on 30 years. Credit company has been contacted, but that doesn't make up for my disappointed family. Who owns this place? The only one person who is nice is the guy. There are two nasty, nasty, women with attitude who work behind the counter. Who the heck are they to work at a store with these atrocious attitudes? Who hired them? They also need to change their gloves. They use the same gloves to serve bagels as they do touching ur money. This place used to be my favorite, even though the staff is unfriendly. However, they do not make their own bagels anymore. They have them delivered from somewhere else. Bagels are good. Not great, CERTAINLY NOT anywhere near an H&H as some reviews claimed. These have to be the best bagels in this area because there aren't any other bagel places IN the area, so unfortunate. They are also extremely expensive for a bagel. $18 for 3 bagels and 2 OJ's is insane. Everything bagels need to have EVERYTHING on them. Not just garlic and poppy seeds. Rude staff. I mean Soup Nazi rude. Each time I go I ask for LIGHT butter and am gifted with globs, enough to run over my movie theater popcorn. I'm afraid what happens if you ask for extra of something. 2 stars because the bagels are just okay. And that's it. A small step above a bagel in a bag at the store. Bagels are good, service not so good. I was charged $4.00 for a bagel with an almost non-existent smear of veggie cream cheese. I'd have been better off buying the spread and fixing my own bagel for the price I was charged and the spread I didn't receive. I've noticed that recently they've been skimping on cream cheese and butter. I've been a customer for over 20 years. Decent New York bagel, hard on the outside and chewy inside. Ordered an everything with lox cream cheese spread - not toasted. A bit stingy with the lox cream cheese but tasty. However, not exceptional which is surprising for the neighborhood and its population. Hubs ordered a whole wheat with tuna - toasted. bagel boss has better veggie tuna and the bagel was status quo. He was quite unimpressed and prefers to purchase bagels at key food and self prep a sandwich. It has been nearly three years since i moved out to the West Coast from Riverdale. I always come back to Bagel Corner when i visit. The bagels are great and now under new ownership the customer service is too. They now accept credit cards and even offered to toast my bagel (not that the bagels there need toasting).
