The bagels here are terrible, dry, and hard. The woman is extremely penny pinching. They charge more for everything than what's on the menu above the counter. An egg sandwich is supposed to come with a free coffee until 11:00 and if you order at 10:55 but don't pay until 11:01 she will look at her watch and say "too late sorry". When you get a bagel with cream cheese, they put the smallest layer of cream cheese where you can't even see it, and if you ask for more she'll charge you $0.99. Save your money. My bagel was hard as a brick. The ham and Swiss on the bagel was SCANT. MUFFIN edible but nothing to write home about. Ordered a bunch of sandwhiches and other things for lunch today. We actually ordered from this place ACCIDENTALY, but were quickly reminded as why we dont go back. My personal order, we had ordered with cheese but they didnt write it down. so it didnt have it. Honestly the sandwhich probably would have tasted not that good with or without the cheese. Bagels here are boring, as one of the other customers wrote it taste like white bread. They cheeped out , there's a new owner. The service is terribly, the people are rude and they are constantly making errors. I asked to have a bagel toasted and it wasn't toasted. I was there one time when a woman behind the counter serving food had a terrible cold and she was coughing all over the place. The owner should've sent her home. Don't go there it's too expensive and the food is terrible. We miss the old owner! I would guess that in the next month or two they will be closing their doors. read more

New bagel store that opened where Sweet Lucille's failed. The bagels are strangely large and very doughy without being that good. The staff is completely frantic and gets a lot of the orders wrong. Add to that the fact that the price point is extremely high, there is not really a reason to go back. I've given it two chances and was disappointed both times. I bought a bagel with cream cheese, which was $3.50 and an egg sandwich with 1 egg that was $5. Absolutely too much for sub par quality. They use a very cheap cheese on the egg sandwiches. When I unwrapped it, the cheese became like a dry paste and stuck to everything. There are much better options in the area, such as Mayfair Bagels and Smithtown Bagels, both of which use quality ingredients, differentiate prices between 1 and 2 eggs and don't cost an arm and a leg. Used to be so delicious and I would love going here. The staff became so rude. The man who is always in there, i think the owner, is just horrible! So rude and so miserable! I stopped giving them my money solely because of the staff. One time i went in there for an egg sandwich and a staff member was making my food with a severe head cold and wiping her nose and coughing as she is making my food. I pointed it out to the man and he asked her if she was sick and she told him no and nothing else was done, i left. They're just so rude in there. Horrible. It's named bagel express but they have AWFUL bagels. I work across the street so it is convenient to order for lunch- never again. My coworker got a turkey sandwich on MOLDY white bread, my boss got a salad with a bug in it, and I ordered a Caesar salad wrap with only lettuce and cheese, no dressing at all. The new owner does not know how to organize his place. Food is served slowly and they are confused about orders and prices are high. The last owner had a steady clientele and the service and food was consistently good. The current/new owner isn't friendly and he drove up the prices and the bagels are not nearly as good as they were. I would instead recommend the bagel smith on Laurence ave. I went because I was coming out of an appointment and it was near the pond I was going to fish at right after. I wish I had taken the 5 minutes to go to the bagel store I usually go to. I got squash, lettuce and tomato on a bagel; no meat, no dressing, no side salad, just a pickle and a $2 bottle of apple juice. Total $12.54. The bagel had that store bought, white bread taste. It looked promising from how dark it was, but it wasn't even crunchy, even untoasted, a dark LI bagel should have a crunchy crust. Every other bagel store I have ever gone to has never charged me over $5 for that exact order. Go to Smithtown Bagels or (any other bagel place), on the same road just a mile or 2 down. I hope nobody takes a first time LI visitor here preaching about how we have the best bagels, they will never trust them again and obviously the resident has never had a real LI bagel. Dirty, dirty, and dirty. Just look around the store if you don't believe me. The staff is friendly but doesn't use proper basic hand washing. I ordered a hero and the bread was stale and the Coke slaw was old and rotten I had to spit it out. The coffee machine is never cleaned you will always find coffee grains in your cup. Great bagels and rolls, lots of selection. Egg sandwiches and wraps are delicious. Perfect place for breakfast or lunch. Owner is very friendly and staff very polite. Place is always clean and food is fresh. They also have great breakfast and lunch combos. Who doesn't appreciation a free cup of coffee?! The cold cuts are always fresh and Boars Head. You do not find many places other than grocery stores who still cut pounds of cold cuts for you. They also deliver so on cold miserable days I don't have to go outside. Definitely a great place to eat. They also have a cute sitting area in case you don't want to eat at your desk. read more
