Everything Bagel w/ scallion cream cheese onion and cucumber

Small shop feel which I LOVE. Reminds me of my home town bagel shops which is in NJ. Bagel was slightly on the drier end. Proportions of cream cheese veggies were perfect. I got the everything bagel lightly toasted w light butter, scallion cream cheese, cucumber and onions. Coffee was too strong. Wouldn't mind coming again cause it's closer to our home.

I really wanted to like this place, but Bagel Express in Sugar Land was a huge disappointment. First red flag, there were flies buzzing around inside the "freshly baked" goods display. Not exactly the kind of thing that makes you want to grab a bagel. When I did order, the bagel itself didn't taste fresh at all, more like something that had been sitting out than actually baked that morning (we went at 10am). Somehow more expensive than a bagel sandwich in NYC. For $13, I got a breakfast bagel where the slice of cheese was literally thicker than the egg. Hard to take that seriously. Between the flies, stale taste, and overpriced food, we won't be coming back.

Ah man...I wanted to like this place so bad. First time coming. Came for the Lox but went with the Brooklyn boy for myself and the Mexican (plus bacon) for my son. All downhill from there. We sat for at least 30-40 mins waiting. When I asked someone to check on my order it came out 5 mins later. Arriving home I realized the food wasn't right. The Mexican presentation was great, it didn't have any bacon tho. For +$4 I definitely wanted my bacon. The Brooklyn boy...trash. There was no onions or feta cheese at all. Pastrami was only on half of my sandwich. Literally. I called and expressed my issue. I was told I could return for a refund, in which I did. I was satisfied until I got home and actually counted the money. I was only refunded the $4 for the bacon. I even showed pics of the badly made Brooklyn boy. I'm pretty upset bc I wouldn't have wasted my time to drive back up there for $4. I spent $40 on probably the most terrible dining experience I've had in a very long time. Needless to say I'm never going back there.

I've been yearning for Whitefish salad. Growing up in Toronto, every Sunday my Dad picked up bagel and smoked fish. Leaving in Houston, there were a couple of delis and I always ordered a combo of Egg salad, Smoked salmon (lox) and Whitefish salad. I was thrilled to find Bagel Express when we moved to Sugar Land/Missouri City. Today, I was carving for their Whitefish Salad and picked it up. They were just closing and washing the floor. The interior was immaculate and clean. Friendly staff and service. They have an excellent variety on their menu.

I was craving Whitefish Salad and decided to check Bagel Express's website and to my surprise they have Whitefish Salad on their website. I called to check if it was available and they did. They said they close at 2:00 p.m. I jumped in my car and had 8 minutes to get there, arrived just in time. I was thrilled to enjoy the Whitefish salad when I got home. Will be my go to place when I crave for more. Thank you, Bagel Express!

Just came in and grabbed 3 bagels for a brunch. When the lady rung me up I was like are you sure that's the right total. She said yes. These are bagels not burgers...... please don't wast your money here. There are better values out there. Very expensive for no reason. Avg. bagels. My mother in law was a regular customer and she said their prices have gone through the roof and she can't justify the cost. Passssssas!!!!

French Toast - No butter or strawberries

I was excited to check this place out. As my cousins raved about it, particularly the french toast. It was nice to see the variety of bagels they had and excellent choice of sandwiches. I just did not know what I wanted, but stuck with the original of the french toast, otherwise I would have regretted it. Of the 4 of us, 3 had french toast and 1 had a bagel. There were no complaints on the taste. They were very good. The disappointment was that the pics all reflect strawberries over the toast and just made it look that much better. Mind you the Menu description on the website does not say anything about a fruit, but shows the toast with strawberries. Upon arrival, the breakfast came in styrofoam with plastic ware. No butter was provided, so we had to ask. Then when we asked about the strawberries, we were told they had run out. We then asked about any other fruit availability - none. So I asked, ok, then what about a discount - no can do. Coffee was very good. It's a little deli and although it wasn't filled up with people, I can see where things can get tight. My 3-stars is based on the strawberries. We should have been told at the beginning. I know for sure one in our group may have taken another option. And it is likely, if we had strawberries as an option, we would have had to pay for it. Stronly recommend if you don't have something that is expected, put it up front for the customer to decide how they want to proceed.

Rubenesque - was nice, had great sauerkraut and Russian dressing. The pastrami was decent. I know NY sandwich's go overkill with the meat. But I was like man this bread is way too thin for this amount of meat. It helped that the pastrami was great quality though. 4/5 Cheesesteak sandwich - the cheesesteak sandwich was solid. Good proportions and tasted great, the sandwich was kinda fatty given that this sandwich uses provolone. Felt a bit greasy but too crazy, still a fantastic sandwich. 3.5/5 Miscellaneous - love the environment and the ambience, gives off a NY vibe while being in Sugarland. The staff is nice and patient and are willing to give solid recommendations. 5/5

So, we really wanted to try this spot out, and one day we decided to grab lunch here along the way while running errands. First things first, they are takeout only right now. There's no indoor dining. Only one of the two employees inside was wearing a mask, which made me uncomfortable. Since this was our first time here, we just ordered their blueberry bagel with cream cheese and their everything bagel with egg, cheese, and bacon. We asked for both of these sandwiches to be toasted. The blueberry bagel wasn't flavorful, and their cream cheese spread was sour and salty. We didn't get the aroma of cream cheese that we're familiar with. The everything bagel had a lot of flavor, with garlic as the predominant flavor. The texture of the bagel was quite hard and chewy, though. But, the eggs, cheese, and bacon filling weren't very flavorful. I thought the eggs needed seasoning as well. Next time, I may order the plain, onion, or sesame bagel and ask that the filling be seasoned more with salt. Their menu is extensive. So, I may come back and try their lunch sandwiches and omelettes. I may also try coming earlier in the morning to get their bagels and food at their freshest. Unfortunately, we came here closer to when they were almost going to close up shop.

Four words for ya.... Black And White Cookie. Yes. You can find one here and I loved it. The bagels are great too, and affordably priced.... and did I mention they taste great? I have been to pretty much every bagel place in Southwest Houston and Bagel Express is definitely on my short list of places I like =) That's my New Yorker review. Also, please note the place does deli sandwiches and uses Boar's Head brand meat, which is really nice compared to inferior cuts you get unless you use the Boar's Head name! Cash only- but yea, we all know that by now, right?

Really good! Staff was not overly friendly but weren't rude either. Bagels were soft and chewy! We returned to Bagel Express last Sunday and the young woman at the counter was friendly and attentive. It's possible that their surliness at an earlier visit was caused by being forced to wear face masks, as this time no one had masks on and they all seemed cheerful and friendly. I haven't been here in a decade and it hasn't changed much, (other than the owner holding court). I was here when they first opened during the bagel craze in the mid 90s. They survived because they made the best bagels and also, they had the best breakfast in Sugarland. Bagels, cream cheese, salmon, bagel dogs, and all the goodness they cook up on the flat top grill is delicious. read more

The workers here are very rude. We came in at 1:50pm on a Sunday looking for a bagel. They told us that they would not serve us because it was 10 minutes before close and they did not want to turn the grill back on. Please do not say that you close at 2pm if you really close at 1:50. We drove across town just for a bagel. If you want a bagel in sugar land, go to Boulevard Bagel & Cafe!! read more

Solid bagel shop in Sugar Land right off Highway 6. Bagels are better than store bought but far short of the Bagel Shop off Hillcroft (not surprising). Menu is limited but tasty, though being Sugar Land, a bit pricier than expected. $2.29 for a to go can of Diet Coke? Bagels for sandwiches not toasted well, whitefish spread more cream cheese than fish. Solid place that's convenient, but if you can make the drive, others are better. read more

Bagel was on the drier side. Was lacking seasoning. Had a few little poppy seeds. Not it. Although they did give a generous portion of cream cheese, it did not make up for the overall poor quality of bagel especially at that price. read more

Their bagels are so good and chewy. Reminds me of New York bagels. Their bakers dozen is also such a great deal. If you buy a dozen, you not only get one free, you get TWO! 14 bagels total! Their challah bread is also amazing. I am so glad they are in Sugar Land. read more

If I could give 0 star I would. Was hoping to get a good bagel without having to drive into Houston. Ordered a dozen blueberry bagels and 16 oz of strawberry cream cheese. They didn't come sliced. They didn't look or taste as if they were made with real blueberries. There were no small pieces of blueberries at all. It looked as though they were made with some kind of blueberry imitation coloring and flavor but the bagel had no taste whatsoever. It tasted like a plain bagel that had purple coloring. The cream cheese was also terrible. No strawberry flavor. It tasted like pink cream cheese. I understand that things are expensive right now but if you aren't going to use real ingredients then don't sell the item. We threw them in the trash. Worst bagel I have ever tasted. I will save my money and drive to Houston the next time my kids want blueberry bagels and I want a breakfast bagel. read more

First time here, honestly i did not see a sign that says CAH ONLY if there is maybe I missed it. I go in i waited to be noticed a lady ask me "what you want" I was okay maybe is been a rough morning I told her I wanted two bagels cream cheese on the side. Come here often, as sugarland doesn't have many fresh bagel options! I ordered 2 bagels with cream cheese and a slice of tomato. The tomato slice they charged an entire dollar extra! I got the jalapeño bagel, was really tough and hard. Almost as if it gotten stale and they toasted it. This place often is great and often not great, consistency is not there. Service is SO slow. No one was there and it took them 22 minutes to toast my bagel and spread cream cheese. From here on out, Panera it is! read more

Service: Exemplary. The young lady that helped me was informative and so inviting. She also made sure to bring to my attention the payment forms are cash and check only before I ordered. That was so thoughtful. Ambiance: The energy is very classic neighborhood deli. I love it! It was just so cozy and welcoming Food: I had the cinnamon raisin bagel with the honey almond cream cheese. YUMMY. Even toasted the bagel still remained soft and chewy with just enough crunch. Cream cheese just melted right into the bagel perfectly. I can't wait to get and bring my niece. read more

Consistently wonderful bagels (coming from a NY girl). The everything bagels are seasoned on both sides, as they should, and the Nova lox is also fantastic. Also highly recommend the chive cream cheese. So glad to have a good bagel place close to home! read more

My bad for forgetting it's cash only, but maybe it's time to get with new tech. I ordered 3 bagels ($1.20 ea) with cream cheese ($??) And a coffee ($2.00). He told me my total was $12.00. By the magic of math I deduced that they would be charging me about $2/ bagel for cream cheese which is just stupid. I called him out on it and told him I felt like I was being hustled for some cream cheese. He confirmed the high price of the cream cheese and then offered to sell me a 8oz tub of cream cheese which lowered my total to $8. Apparently there is a $4 labor charge to put cream cheese on my bagel. Also worth mentioning that I had over half the tub of cream cheese leftover. Bagels are good. Pro tip: buy the 8oz tub vs per bagel otherwise you are a rube thay deserves to get hustled. read more

Came in yesterday (3-18-2023) and bought sesame and ET bagels. Asked for bially, but they only had 3 frozen biallys? Frozen? Maybe my bagels were frozen once, as they were very dry, hard like they were days old, over done looking and not many seeds or seasoning on them. Never will go back to this place. Just awful! I love bagels and I'm always on the lookout for great bagels in the Houston area. Bagel Express has been in Sugar Land for some time it seems. Luckily, I happened upon it one morning when looking for more bagel places via Yelp. The owners are very friendly and welcoming. They gladly told me all the bagel varieties they make plus they make their own cream cheese. I got a bakers dozen of various bagels and a large cream cheese. The price was very reasonable for everything. When I returned home the bagels were a hit. These bagels have the right texture and bite on the outside while having that good bagel type soft chewiness inside. All varieties I've tried are very good. I'm a big fan of the blueberry, pumpernickel and cinnamon raisin as favorites. The chocolate chip is a good sweet tooth satisfier, the honey wheat and plain are perfect for bagel sandwiches while the strawberry works nicely with a little sweetened sweet cream mixed with fruit. These are just a few ways I fix up a bagel. They offer many other bagel types. I'm certain there is a bagel here for everyone. The cream cheese is amazing. Very creamy smooth and you can taste the freshness. I am a huge lover of cream cheese so you can bet I loaded my bagels up with this! My experience here has been very positive and I like their offerings. It's a nice place to stop in and get your bagel fix. read more

She just stood there, fixing bottles, made eye contact with me and still chose to pay us no mind. We felt discriminated against considering the fact that she helped every other table but us. I asked for the manager and let her know how we sat there for 20 minutes before anyone greeted/acknowledged us and as an apology we got donuts. I paid attention to every single person who sat down after us and witnessed the difference of how they were being treated compared to us and it just validated how we felt, uncomfortable and awful. The baked potato was not fully cooked, so it was very difficult even to cut it in half. I'm not sure what happened on the season vegetables, but they were literally burnt so I'm not sure if they saute them after they flash boil them? So the broccoli was burnt and mushy, and the carrots were hard as a rock. The portion size was very large, except for the salmon, which was about 5 ounces. The menu called for it to be blackened, but there was very little if any seasoning on it at all, and certainly it was not blackened. Turning attention to the turkey plate, it was not nicely carved in the ocean slices of turkey rather it looked like pulled apart, sandwich meat on not so high-quality white bread. I definitely think there's a lot of room for improvement, but it's a risk given so many restaurants in the general area to stop back. Del was our server. He was very polite and did a good job.
