I've had this spot on my list for quite some time but don't make it out to west u that often anymore. I finally stopped by a few weeks ago and tried a few of their bagels and schmears. I had the seasonal jalapeño pepper jack bagel, Asiago and cinnamon. For the schmears I got the cinnamon, scallion, and jalapeño. The worker told me the best way to heat it up which was to air fry it for about 5 min and it did stay nice and soft inside while slightly crispy outside. I loved the scallion cream cheese because it comes with a shallot or mild red onion that gives it a lot of flavor. The jalapeño and cinnamon were solid. Overall, this is a good bagel spot and I like how many different bagel and schmear flavors they have. A competing popular bagel spot has recently opened in Houston and luckily they aren't very close to each other. Each have pros and cons. While those bagels are better fresh Jeff's has more options, is better priced, and has no wait time. read more

Good bagel spot - I ordered for pickup and it was ready during the selected time window. The bagel is thick and the side of cream cheese is the perfect amount to spread both halves of a bagel. I also got an iced vanilla latte which is decent for the price. read more

Wowsa! We were in the med centre for the day from (slightly) out of town. I googled boiled bagels bc I NEED a NYC fix. And Jeff's bagels did NOT disappoint. The bagels are delicious! My husband also agreed. He said we will never go to Einstein again. It'll be worth the 90 min drive for us. Scott and James are friendly. James let us sample a few of the spreads before we committed to a few. Try the banana pudding spread. I don't even like banana pudding but it was fantastic. I also LOVED the cookies and cream spread. My hubby had the jalapeño spread. He loved it. The bagels, the spreads, and the customer service is exceptional. James is an asset and Scott is also great. Wow. These bagels left me speechless! I got a variety and my favorites include the cacio e Pepe and rosemary and sea salt. I recommend both! The chew of the bagel is perfect. The crisp exterior with the soft yet slightly tough interior reminded me of New York. I took some home to use for sandwiches and meal prep. Service was friendly and prompt. Why don't more people know about this place?? Literally the perfect boiled bagel. I was so excited to try the rosemary sea salt, but they were out by the time I got there which brings me to my only complaint: I vote that the "daily" specials become weekly. Give us time!! Instead of 7 rotating every day, do like 3-4 for the week so we actually have a chance to try them. Anyways/ we got a dozen to share and 6 spreads. LOL. WE CAN EAT, OKAY. My top favorite by a landslide was the jalapeño cheddar. Sooo soft, with the cheese dried on top but still soft when you bite into it. I paired it with the roasted jalapeño spread and I couldn't have been more content. The garlic bagel was good, but definitely on the harder side in comparison. The cacio e pepe surprised me as it truly embodied the flavors of a real cacio e pepe dish. The cinnamon sugar was nothing special compared to the others; just what you'd expect. That said, I paired it with the cinnamon honey butter, which was quite rich. The employees were great. Since we were sharing, they happily offered extra paper to use as plates and even labeled all of our spreads The place itself is pretty small, but I don't think they're aiming for lingering. Jeff sure knows how to make a good bagel. Located in a small strip mall, Jeff's is a modest grab and go joint with a single table inside. Service is always friendly, the line moves quickly, and each visit is accompanied by the smell of fresh bagels. Jeff's Bagels has specialty limited edition flavors daily with a good selection of everyday options, all of which can be found on the app. There are also multiple schmears, whipped butter, and even some vegan options. A small display case next to the register houses some additional desserts. There is an extensive coffee menu as well. Bagels: The texture is spot on. These bagels offer just the right amount of chew without being leathery, yet are still light and soft on the inside. The boiled skin is just the right thickness somehow, and even with the slight denseness of the dough, it springs back without staying compressed. I've tried the plain, cinnamon raisin, rosemary salt, everything, blueberry bagels and they've all had excellent texture. I would've preferred slightly more cinnamon and raisin on the cinnamon raisin, a touch less salt on the rosemary salt, and perhaps a little more blueberry on the blueberry, but those are likely just personal preferences. Schmears: I appreciate the variety of options Jeff's offers. I'm a plain cream cheese kinda person, but I've tried the vegan plain, maple brown sugar, cookies n cream, whipped butter, whipped butter cinnamon honey. The whipped butter varieties are very creamy, and overall the flavored ones tend to be on the sweeter side. The only one I actively didn't like was the vegan cream cheese; it was too salty and had a strange aftertaste, though the texture was pretty good for vegan cream cheese. My only gripe is the vendetta against toasting. I've been in multiple times when customers have inquired whether they're able to get their bagels toasted, and the response has always been "we don't toast our bagels because they're fresh and boiled." These bagels are delicious on their own, but I love freshly toasted bagels even if they're newly baked. read more

They don't toast their bagels when you get a spread, but it's so fresh it doesn't need to be. The best tasting bagel, that taste like I've had in the east coast and I normally just eat a bagel plain so it has to taste fresh. It's the chewiest in the inside and crunchy on the outside. Better than Einstein's Bagel. It is probably done right, boiled instead of steam which is what massed produced bagels are which makes them taste like bread. I've come by here a few times to grab breakfast for my team at work. The bagels are pricey, and the cream cheese is even more expensive (compared to what I've seen elsewhere), but that's the whole point of a treat, right? The bagel quality is solid. They clearly do their baking the same morning and you can smell bagels in the oven when you walk in, particularly the more pungent options like asiago and garlic. My problem is with the customer service. It's extremely inconsistent and you NEVER know what you're going to get. Sometimes the items are all clearly marked in little slip bags, other times you have to know what the product looks like because it's just piled into a larger bag. The worst part is, they actively try not to honor their own rewards program. Once or twice would make sense as a "mistake", but when the guy always forgets to ask you for your regards number and you have to prompt him, that's intentional. On my last visit (my largest order to date), I forgot until the order was submitted and asked to add my points after. I was told that they had to cancel out the first order and redo it. There was a line, so I came back on my lunch break. There was no apology, no thank you for coming back, any notice that their error inconvenienced me in any way. That's how I know they're intentionally avoiding honoring their own program. read more

This was my first time coming here after seeing countless videos on social media hyping the place up and it didn't disappoint! I ordered the everything bagel and cinnamon sugar bagel with a side of plain cream cheese. The everything bagel had a weird after taste, so I wouldn't get it from here again. The cinnamon sugar bagel was definitely my favorite out of the 2, but the bagel looked nothing like it did on their menu so that was slightly disappointing. The best part about this place is probably their cream cheese, even if it's the plain basic flavor, you can't go wrong with it. Very limited seating, only 2-3 tables. They don't toast their bagels, which didn't bother me as I'm very particular with how toasted I like mine so I wouldn't take the risk of them over toasting or under toasting. I stopped by Jeff's Bagel Run early before work to pick up bagels for Administrative Professionals Day. They have so many delicious options for bagels! I ordered a dozen and a half. I have tried their jalapeño and cheddar bagel before and knew I loved that flavor but wanted to try others. The server was so kind and offered to do one of each of the flavors to try. I also purchased two savory spreads--chives and onions, and jalapeño. The bagels are fresh and delicious and it was a hit at work! I was also able to meet one of the owners and they are so very kind. Came here on a weekday around 9am and no line but people were constantly coming in and out. Since we had already eaten breakfast, I only ordered one poppy seed bagel with an onion and chive cream cheese on the side just to try. The bagel itself was quite soft and fluffy, a little more soft than expected but I still enjoyed it a lot. This is total personal, but I probably would have preferred the exterior of the bagel to have a little more "chew" to it, but I think that's because all the bagels I've ever had has a harder exterior that you have to chew through before getting to the softer interior. My entire bagel from Jeff's Bagel run was quite soft, but then again I still quite enjoyed eating it, so I really can't complain. My onion and chive cream cheese spread was delicious. Loved that they used fresh red onions and fresh chives, as I was expecting onion powder and dried chives. Overall a great place for a nice bagel on the softer side. I had never heard or seen this place before! I was given a gift certificate and went to cash in. I got 6 bagels. They were a mixture of cinnamon sugar, cinnamon raisin, blueberry, and some others. They also offered to slice them for me. You get to pick the spread from their list of options. You can either buy 1 or get a flight of 3. The cashier offered me samples of the spread to help me choose. I wanted to take so many. They were really good. And so were the bagels! My favorite bagel spot in Houston period. The staff is so friendly and helpful! There were several newcomers that came through while I was there eating and the staff greeted everyone and helped them all with great enthusiasm. The featured drinks were different than the last time I was here- I tried the skinny iced caramel latte, which was very tasty- not overly sweet but still satisfied my morning craving. The Asiago everything bagel was perfection- steaming from how fresh it was and the texture was excellent, crispy cheese on the outside but fluffy on the inside. Houston is severely behind in the bagel game, so it's nice to see new additions. I attempted to visit this spot previously (different location) but arrived only after they'd run out of bagels for the day. I arrived sometime around midday this go around. By this time most local shops are down to their last selections, but Jeff's was still baking fresh. Although they do not offer lox as a bagel, or lox cream cheese they do offer lox salmon as a side available for purchase, and hold a few interesting additions like the cacio i Pepe bagel. I was surprised to learn that they don't toast the bagels. I guess my face conveyed my concern, so the employee informed me that a fresh batch of bagels will be out in about 4 minutes. If I could stand to wait, one would be mine. And wait it did. When my bagel arrived it was piping hot, and incredibly fresh. Certainly one of the freshest bagels I've ever experienced! Bonus: In addition to the bagel I grabbed one of their s'mores bars and a fruity pebbles rice krispy treat. Both were divine, and super fresh! I mean, everything here is super fresh! Everything about this spot, from the lack of lox, to the no toasting policy should have created a lack luster experience, but somehow Jeff's still does it right. It's in the Bellaire area but easy to spot, as it's part of a big plaza facing Bellaire Blvd. I gotta say, I really find that running away bagel logo cute. Could we call it Jeff's running bagel too? Hahah They bake their bagels throughout the day. You see their ovens heating and producing all the time. The bagel choices are displayed on this tall rack right behind the cashier. Traditional choices and one special one. I find their bagels different. Is it the crispiness of the bagel, resembling a bread ? Soft inside. Just fresh. I also appreciate the non toasting idea and spread your own cream cheese. Nowww, let's talk about the various cream cheese choices! We've got the traditional plain one, the onion and chive one, the strawberry one but cookies and cream or banana pudding or jalapeno?!?! So really, get a "flight" of 3 cream cheeseSSS for $5. I've been to Jeff's twice now and the bagels have been amazing both times! They are always fresh and warm and the cream cheeses for it are yummy. I've tried the everything bagel with Asiago and the jalapeño cheddar bagel. And the cream cheese is the jalapeño cream cheese. So good. The coffee is also decent they have a bunch of different flavors for coffee. This summer they've had different specials all summer. Didn't get a chance to try them but they sounded good. The banana cold brew was really good and the vanilla cinnamon coffee was also decent. The counter service and food comes out generally quick and the cashiers were nice both times. They don't have a lot of seating just a counter and then two small tables so you may or may not be able to find seating. But it's easy to get things to go. Plenty of parking. Soft opening to work out the kinks- went in on Wed & Fri and both times they got my order wrong Wanted an Everything bagel each time but got a non-descriptive one and the next order I got a cheese bagel- check your bag before leaving folks. We were happy to see 'Jeff's' move into the vacated 'Einstein Bros.' So we walked in, looked at the menu, then asked about salmon. The answer: no salmon spread and no smoked salmon. Neither of our bagels (hers was 'jalapeno cheese, mine was onion with onion and chive spread) had much flavor. Also, the texture of the 'bagel', is more akin to bread. Went today for their grand opening and it was great! I got a jalapeno cheddar bagel with roasted jalapeno spread and a banana bread oatmilk cold brew. The jalapeno cheddar bagel had a cheese crust the covered the entire top of the bagel, and as someone who loves a savory breakfast and spice, the roasted jalapeno spread paired really well together. It was the perfect combination of cheesy, creamy, and spicy and the bagel itself was soft and pillowy on the inside while still having the signature chew of a bagel. My bagel was also hot and fresh which was super nice in this cold weather. (7.5/10) The banana bread oat milk cold brew was definitely on the sweeter side. The banana flavor was very subtle with a stronger taste of cinnamon and other spices similar to a chai. It tasted like a dessert, but not necessarily banana bread, and there was no coffee flavor present. If that's something you are looking for I would recommend trying a different drink. I am not a big fan of super sweet drinks so I would try the honey lavender cold brew next time I'm back. (5/10) The staff were super friendly and the parking lot is huge so no issues there. There is a small amount of seating inside, but I would say it is more of a grab and go spot. This is probably the greatest place to ever get a bagel. This puts all of the other bagel restaurants/chains/places to SHAME. If you truly want a real, authentic bagel, then this place is THE place to go, hands down, 100%, I put all my money on it! No matter where you live, what part of town your from, this place welcomes anyone and everyone. How can you ever turned down a boiled bagel, and never baked? The flavored bagels are amazing, the smears are unique and impressive, I still need to try the coffee but there will definitely be a next time. Let's talk about the food verdict. Sometimes it's hard to find a good bagel but this is the right place. The bagels and spreads are so delicious. It's probably better to pick up and go you can even order through the app so it makes it more convenient. Inside there's two tables right in front but you also have a bar on the side facing the kitchen so you can watch the magic happen. They offer a few different kind of drinks. I tried the banana bread cold brew coffee. It was great. The parking lot outside is very large so you should have no problem parking.
