We came during a rush and the staff was very kind and answered our questions politely (it was our first time here) my boyfriend and I got the the New Yorker with potato salad and they were DELICIOUS!!! One of the best bagels I've had in a very long time. We came around Valentine's Day and the store was cutely decorated with hearts and such :) Off to the side of the registers there is a shelf with day-old bagels at a discounted price. I have been wanting to try this place for a long time! I cannot believe I have lived here so long and haven't come here. The staff here are so kind and my order came out pretty quick. We got a Bacon Egg and Cheese on a Plain bagel. They don't skimp on the bacon here and it was crispy! It was a good size breakfast sandwich and I would order it again. We also got a Cheddar Bagel with Chive Cream Cheese. This was so good! This Chive Cream Cheese is the best one I've ever had. I also had to get the French Vanilla Cold Brew I spotted behind the register. This was delicious, you can taste the vanilla and it's pretty sweet. The pastries in the display cases were looking at me so of course I had to get some too. The Cheese Danish is so big and it's really good too. I feel like it's 10x better than going to any other place like Einstein because you get a huge bagel for a low price. Listen.. I've been going to this location for the past decade and used to love them. The food is still the same quality, so it's good! Fresh bagels and smears for them. Good iced coffee and pastries. I slowly stopped coming as frequently a few years ago due to feeling unwanted and getting off service from this employee. So this past Thursday, 03/13/25 around 10:27 am, I already called to place my order 15 min prior to arrival so I'm good to go and pick up my order upon my arrival. Or so I thought. So there's two distinguished lines, one for PICK UP orders and one for placing an order. Obviously, I go to the pick up order line. There's one person in front of me in line, perfect. She leaves and I'm patiently waiting for the cashier (who happens to be the same unpleasant employee that caused my distancing from this establishment) to close their ticket or whatever they need to do. Once she finishes, she looks up , we make eye contact as to what I assume is an indication that she's ready for me, since I'm the next customer in line, right. Nooo, she looks at me, I take a step forward, she looks to the other side where the other line is for placing orders and says "next customer in line". I'm standing there, confused a bit shocked like uhm am I Casper?? I look back at her and she's blatantly ignoring me, super rude and off putting customer service. The poor customer that got called over is like uhhhh what do I do, I simply smile and tell her it's okay go ahead, obviously I don't count so I'll have to wait :D The whole point is, that was so rude and inconsiderate. A simple effort with communication to let me know she needs to help out the other side would've been sufficient to ease my confusion and not make me feel like an inconvenience to an establishment I've been a frequent customer of for years. Said employee is a senior white slender woman, white pixie cut, circular glasses. Honestly, your behavior is exemplary of what NOT to do when it comes to customer service. If you're racist, maybe customer service isn't for you. I've never had a bad experience here, EXCEPT when I have her attend me. The bonus is getting to try bagels and spread I wouldn't normally try so it gives me a chance to order something new. I never tried a potato knish until I got it as a side with my Ruben bagel. I'm officially a super fan of stuffed corned beef knishes. I like the personal touches with a little sweet treat. My 5 yr old orders his own plain bagel toasted lightly with cream cheese and a side of corned beef. When we get the bagel each piece is cut into fours and makes it so much easier for him to manage. I will be the toughest critic since I am originally from Long Island NY, and have not been able to find a good bagel since moving here. I have to say...Bagel King did not disappoint. I love how you walk in and you can see a variety of bagels (just like in NY). There is also various cream cheese spreads too choose from which you can not find anywhere around here. There is also various bakery items to choose from, and lunch menu offered all day! I got the "New Yorker" (yes, I know typical since I am from there but I was looking for a bagel with lox and this is what it happened to be called). I do have to say...it was a good size bagel and it was nice and doughy just like a NY bagel. I just a got a plain bagel...the only thing I have to say is it could have been toasted more but I should have specified. The flavor was OK (could have been more yeasty tasting) but I was pleasantly surprised and definitely know where I will be going if I need a good bagel because nothing else will cut it around here. It's a 30 min. drive but worth it...too bad no location near New Smyrna or Daytona. My boyfriend and I also got a black and white cookie to share since that is also something I always tell him is lacking or can't find a good one here. It was good but not the best. We ordered two everything bagels toasted with garlic cream cheese, one toasted blueberry bagel with butter, one potato knish and a twisted danish. The twisted danish was pretty stale but the one taste that I took before throwing it away was tasty. I would have returned it but I didn't feel like the hassle. The potato knish was amazing. I highly recommend ordering at least one. You can have them served with butter, cheese or plain. We went with American cheese but next time I will order it plain. I went to the Deltona store with my 3 grandsons. We ordered 4 toasted bagels with ham, egg and cheese to go.. Each sandwich cost $6.99. I assume my total was almost $30.00 however I was charged extra due to the cost of egg and I was also charged $1.40 for each bagel to make the sandwich. WTF. I asked the girl to please get the store manager. When she approached me she said that they charge an extra $1.40 for sandwiches. I told her that was deceiving add ing the price of a bagel to the sandwich... That is why we charge extra. She said that many people have a KETO diet and don't eat the bagel and that's why I have to pay extra for the bagel for the sandwich. That did not make sense. I told her that Bagel King does not say it's a Keto place. I will never go back. If you said to the customer that they need to add $1.40 for the bagel to make a sandwich, I have a choice...Poor customer service. read more
