Brooklyn Bagels is a solid bagel spot. They always have the ones we order and we occasionally try something new. Our go to bagels are everything and regular. The inside is neat, they have glass panels that allow you to see their baking process. The sitting area is spread out and there's always seat available. Getting things to go is great too. The service is fast as most orders are quick assembly. The orders that require cooking are worth the extra wait for a fresher experience. On this visit we were getting breakfast to go and decided to get bagel sandwiches. Our boys shared a sausage, egg, and cheese bagel while my wife and I shared a lox bagel (salmon, onions, tomatoes, and sometimes capers). Driving in the Lake Mary area and I see the words Brooklyn Bagel and I scream to my husband STOP!! I jumped out of the car, got some bagels with a delicious iced coffee along with cubes of ice made out of iced coffee and also grabbed a scallion cream cheese - yum! Just lightly toasted up two Sesame seeds bagels and made our own breakfast sandwich and wow, it brings us back to when we have had delicious and chewy bagels. Just found out there's a closer one yo us than 1 1/2 hours away but if I had to do the long drive to get them again, I would. If I could give 3.5 I would. It was just okay. There were pros and cons. Pros: I thought the prices were decent considering other bagel places that are charging like 10 dollars for speciality bagels. I liked all of their drink options. They have almond milk, creamers , tea, coffee , all out and easily accessible (obviously if you purchase) but I really liked all their choices . Cons: our food took a while to get to our table . My friend ordered a sausage and ham bagel and I got a ham egg and cheese bagel. I asked for whipped cream on my bagel and they forgot it so they haphazardly whipped it on my sandwich after the fact and it was a really messy bagel. As a native tri-state area girl, one thing I've really missed since moving to central Florida is a good bagel, a good bacon egg & cheese sandwich. I was super excited to try this place because I was hoping to finally find my bagel spot. I went on Sunday morning (I'm sure during their peak time). Let me start with the positive: their customer service was excellent. Staff is really sweet and food came out rather quickly considering how busy it was. Sadly, there were almost NO bagels when I went (around 11am). And when I say no bagels, they literally ONLY HAD garlic, and Russian black sesame bagels. Thats it. Not even plain. (As a teenager I used to work at a bagel/breakfast place back home-- so I understand very well the weekend rush, but also know how possible it is to have bagels constantly baking throughout the morning) I ordered a BEC with hot honey on a garlic bagel, and got a Jersey Boy on a hardroll for my husband (even though neither bread was our first or second choice). The bagel itself was okay. But it was hard to really tell with the amount of egg in the sandwich. I'm not sure if their eggs are frozen and just warmed up, or liquid from a carton but the egg was super bland and rubbery. Completely not what I was expecting. There was also just too much egg compared to bacon/cheese and the bagel. My husband had the same complaint about the egg. Either way, I'm still looking forward to going back because I want to try a bagel with cream cheese before making a final decision. I love the concept and the Cubsta iced coffee with coffee ice cubes--you receive a cup of coffee ice cubes and then choose all your own inclusions including which iced coffee, milk, creamer, and syrups you want! Ordering was easy, and they have a nice easy to navigate menu, but unfortunately the bagel sandwich just didn't do it for me. I ordered an egg& cheese and added shredded lettuce, tomato, onion, jalapeño (each $0.49 upcharge) and scallion cream cheese ($2 upcharge). All the toppings were nice and fresh, they even use fresh jalapeños which is great, but I think where they messed me up was putting leaf lettuce (yuck) instead of shredded lettuce (fresh, crisp, amazing, yum). I think the egg could also use some work..some salt or something, or maybe a fried egg would be better instead of the scrambled kinda fake (like carton/powdered) tasting egg. The place was very dirty, including dark condensation dripping from the AC vents. All the counters were dirty, garbage cans were not changed and overflowing. All the tables and floors had food on them. The drink area was filthy. When they called our name the employee had a very bad attitude- she called the name and didn't even wait, it was so bizarre. She said the name and immediately turned around back to the kitchen and put it down before we could even stand up (sitting in the chairs right in front of her. So we asked for the food and she rolled her eyes and shoved it at us. We asked for the drink cups and it was like we were asking her for something so inconvenient. This bagel was $7 and it was just alright. I like that the filling is large but unfortunately the top of the bagel "bun" if you may didn't have the integrity to keep everything together so I got a lot of bites of just filling and no bagel. I do wish maybe there was a sauce or something added on to maybe elevate it a bit more to make the $7 hurt a little less haha. Also the temperature of the bagel wasn't hot it was like lukewarm which didn't make a lot of sense to me either. I always enjoy when places that highlight how items are made. My favorite is the Williamsburg- it's basically a lox and bagel. I go with the plain bagel and add the jalapeño cream cheese. Their everything bagel is great too but heavily seasoned. It better paired with just cream cheese in my opinion. I was surprised at how good their coffee was. If you're an ice coffee lover they have coffee iced cubes to prevent your coffee from being watered down. Service was fast and friendly. Overall the store is as at best below average. I order a Toasted Club Melt and two hash browns. The hash browns came out cold and floppy. They forgot to bring out my sandwich and when asked to remake it and bring it back out they brought out the wrong sandwich and didn't say sorry. This is also all after an employee dropped a water bottle on my foot, said sorry without eye contact and just walked away. The store was kind of clean and very family friendly. So simple but so hard to re-create. These are the best Bagels I've had outside of NYC. The best cream cheese I've had was Bruegger's Bacon Scallion, but I haven't seen that anywhere else yet. The Scallion here does the job. At one point, they had a Vegan Cream cheese and I wish they'd bring it back. Some of their bagels are vegan, so it's a good place to indulge in crunchy chewy carbs. I've never been inside this bagel shop but I can speak first hand of their products - fortunately we have a member of our staff that lives close by Brooklyn Water Bagel and he has become the point person to pick up freshly made bagel breakfast sandwiches for our bi-weekly operation meetings. The bagels arrive warm and unscathed from the trip from the bagel shop to the office of course timing is everything so he gets some leeway when it comes to arriving at work on these days and arrives just before the start of the meeting. We have started a rotation for payment so no one person bears the total expense of this perk except for the week it's their turn and everyone that enjoys these delicious bagels participates, it's a small group so it's a pretty simple process. Since we've started this I can stay no one is late for this meeting. It seems most have become addicted to the egg and breakfast sausage on the everything bagel, I know I have although we all have plans to explore the menu. Food is excellent! I had the Williamsburg with added capers. This bagel is so big and stuffed I couldn't get my mouth around it. My hubs had the bagel dog and was pleased. Service was mostly helpful at the counter. It was a bit confusing when we ordered the bagel dog and the guy had to ask if they were being made.
