Not sure what other people expect from a bagel cafe, but I've never been disappointed in all the times I've eaten here. Do not go here. It took over 10 minutes just for someone to even take my order. I ordered two egg sandwiches and the woman seemed super annoyed that I was even in her store. 10 minutes later they're done. We go to eat the sandwiches and the food leaked all over our clothes when we opened them. The sandwiches were folded very oddly too and everything fell out right away. First experience I ordered 8 sandwiches all the same and they forgot 2 of them. Today they forgot my entire order. This is my go to spot when I'm craving a bagel - they are soft, delicious, and fresh! The place is absolutely packed on Saturdays and Sunday's so expect to wait to order. Their homemade cream cheeses are all very good and I ALWAYS get the jalapeño but also highly recommend the cannoli! Today I went to bagel lady and ordered a bagel with very little cream cheese and ONE slice of lox. I also got a bottle of diet Sprite and a bag of popcorn. The price was $21! When I inquired she said it was because of the price of the lox. I told her I only asked for one slice of lox and how much does it cost? She said $24 a pound. She told me the bagel would be $3.50 without the lox and it was eight dollars with the lox. I told her it was not right that I was paying $4.50 for one slice of lox. She said oh well several times. She did not even try to rectify the situation. I should've asked for a manager. I have preferred this sandwich in many different bagel stores exactly this way and never paid anywhere near that much! When I did leave and eat my bagel the lox was all dry at the edges and old. Also did not have even a napkin in my bag! I will not return to this bagel store. It was never very good to begin with. Living life a quarter mile at a time, you inch closer to your goal...the pot at the end of the rainbow, everything else is just a blur. You pull into the parking lot, browse around your surrounding and spot the parking spot of your dreams right in front of your destination, it was fate...fate of the gods. You spot your friends, who are waiting in their cars and appear to be sweating uncontrollably. Everyone nods and walks out of their cars together in perfect synchronization. You open the door first, after all...why shouldn't you? It was your idea. You reach over immediately and grab the Shoreham Daily Journal... "my precious" you whisper under your breath. You head to the fridge and open the sliding glass door. If it wasn't for the cold air hitting you, you might have fainted. "Pull it together" you tell yourself, one last time. As you wait in line, you see what you came for...in the back behind the counter. The oasis of bacon and fresh bagels would be enough for some, but you realize that your very fears and dreams have been realized all at once. She is there, she is working. As if the the mounting pressure wasn't enough, you start to realize that she might be the one to take your order. Minutes turn into seconds, as you step up to the counter, sheer panic sets in as you are next in line and you are about to order. She walks up to you, looks you right in the eye asks you for your order.....and you finally realize this is it. 3 years later you wake up at Stony Brook hospital. The doctor wakes you up with both a happy and stunned expression on his face. The doctor tells you you have been in a coma for over 3 years. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. read more

The bagels are awesome. But the service is by far the worst. Never have I ever seen staff move so slow and ass backwards. Literally nobody EVER on the register. Whoever takes your order makes it (slow) then slowly walks to register to ring you up. While 5 people build up around the register the line grows. No prioritization, I have literally seen people make coffee while the line is out the door. Call in your order! You will STILL wait a very long time as you can see your sandwich sitting. This has now been my 4th stop to this bagel shop as it is conveniently located on my way to work. I can safely say that they have the best chicken salad in the area (waldorf chicken salad) and their bagels are really tasty. Will definitely be changing this to one of my routine stops. We ordered a grilled chicken and fresh mozzarella party bagel. It had little thin slices of grilled chicken dried out I may add and a thin Deli slice of mozzarella cheese and a roasted pepper now and then. It was almost all bread. It was $60 just for the sandwich and had less than a pound of meat and cheese on it. Don't order that at this bagel store. Not the worst but also not the best bagels out there. They are local so you really have no choice unless you want to drive. Sandwiches are hit and miss, sometimes they are great other times super watery and under cooked. The biggest issue is the service. Always slow, many times everyone ends up sitting in the back by the grille cooking meals instead of one person cooking and the other people just taking orders and handling bagel only orders. Annoying when all you want is a bagel and everyone is tied up cooking hot meals. read more

What a fail! The man helping us could hardly do his job. While our order for 4 types Bagels was not challenging, considering there was not a single thing to be done to them other than stuff them in a bag, was still messed up in the end. He kept telling us he didn't have any of what we wanted mean while the lady helping the customers next to us was telling him they were fresh in the back. It was very frustrating. This little shop does pretty well considering it is the only bagel store in town. This is the place you go when you cut school, come home from college, need a quick but great breakfast/lunch or need to cater a lunch for your office. Passing by for lunch?- call up and place an order that way its ready for when you swing by. It'll always be bagged and ready for your arrival.
