Decent bagel place especially because it's open all the time. I can come here early in the morning for breakfast as well as late at night for midnight munchies. (And cause it's the only thing open in the fresh meadows area) It can get crowded at times though specifically in the morning from 7-9. I usually get a sesame bagel toasted with butter. Okay. So i want to clarify that the food itself was not bad. It was actually pretty good and reasonably priced. The service, however, was terrible. I asked for a bagel and the guy had a terrible attitude. He doesn't even finish my order and starts making the bagel. Then, when he comes back, i asked for a hot chocolate and he proceeds to be even more rude like i'm at fault AND THEN HE BROUGHT ME A HOT COFFEE INSTEAD. Friendly staff, great location and some of the best bagels in Queens. They tend to be very busy in the morning which can lead to some chaotic lines but make sure you let them know your order as soon as you make eye contact. Many people stand around after placing their order causing some confusion. I randomly heard about this place and how great it is, so I decided to check it out and drive out there on this beautiful Sunday. I live in Rego Park, so Bagel Oasis is clearly not too close. The place is small, and street parking was not too bad but more difficult than I would have expected on a Sunday. I liked their menu and their assortment of muffins, cupcakes, etc. looks fantastic. Why the two stars? Well, I ordered an everything bagel with ham, egg, and cheese and received bacon, egg and cheese on a roll. I also asked and paid for two different "pastry" items, but only received one. The only thing they got "right" was the two large coffees I asked for, although I asked for no sugar and they put sugar in both. I did not discover this until I got back home, and there was no way I was driving back to Fresh Meadows from Rego Park. Maybe the young kid wearing the red baseball cap was having a bad day. The quality of the food they gave me was excellent (no complaints there), so I might go back there again if I feel like taking the drive. If I do and they screw up my order again, I'll never go back. read more

Every time I visit the store is packed but they are extremely efficient with taking orders and getting customers in and out without any confusion. Absolutely the place to go for bagels! Walk in every time and it's always crowded but the lines move quickly and seems to always get their orders right. Ordered a cream cheese everything bagel before and they load it up with cream cheese! I've been ordering the E9 since I've had it and it never fails me. This is THE bagel place to visit in Queens. It is off the LIE, with metered parking right outside. The staff is quick, so don't stress over the lines that go back to the door. You can't go wrong with any of the options. Bacon is better with everything, so go for the bacon scallion cream cheese. The bagels are insanely fluffy but have a good chew and a traditional NYC bagel crust. I used to go to Oasis when I was a kid and lived in the neighborhood. At that time, the bagels were excellent. The original owners retired and sold the store and the bagels just went downhill. I don't know whether they changed the recipe or got new and different machines, but the flavor is definately quite different than I remember. Now the bagels taste very commercial, not homemade. I really wanted to like Oasis but sorry I just remembered when they were great, not just mediocre. read more

Had to go back twice, once my husband and then myself, to get back money. Overall order was also wrong. On 2nd trip back, finally left with money owed to me and correct order. I've been going to Bagel Oasis for years - the king of bagels, almost a rite of passage for every officially-sanctioned brunch get together. Double-park or pull around the corner, since there is rarely a spot in front of the store. Their bagels are THE FRESHEST and the counter staff is more than capable of handling throngs of bagel aficionados anxious to get their hands (and mouths) on the best tasting bagels in the borough...maybe even the city...maybe even anywhere. Also the only bagel shop with a hearty selection of flagels (flat bagels for those of us who carve out some of the dough).
