I love Bagel Place. I've been going there on and off for the last decade -- it was one of my favorite lunch spots in high school, and when I was home from college and home when I lived in Chicago, it was a place that I made sure to stop at when I was home. I've been back about a year and a half, and it's a place I go with regularity. I love that you can go through a drive-thru, even if I generally think it's better to run inside and look at the bagel baskets. Love the bagels, the bagel sandwiches, and more recently, the breakfast tacos. The cost is reasonable. Only con is that I think the pizza bagels have gone down in quality since 2008, I think they're much chewier than they used to be -- they may have used day old bagels in the past. The new logo a few years back made me so happy, because it made me feel like Bagel Place was coming into the new decade. read more

Lox On Bagel Lox on a plain bagel with chips is my favorite at this small Lunch/breakfast place. Only open 6to3 no reservations. Normally very busy with locals during the lunch hour. Expect a short wait in the order line. But line moves quickly. Atmosphere is very casual. When inside you order at the counter, the clerk that takes your order is normally the one who also prepares it. Menu has good selection of bagels/sandwiches, breakfast and lunch items. When ready the clerk will bring it to your table. Service was friendly and efficient. Food was tasty, delicious with good size portions. Presentation basic not fancy. Price range reasonable. They stop serving breakfast at 11am and we walked in at 11:04 so we missed breakfast. We did get a bagel with cream cheese each and a drink. The bagels were very good, HOWEVER, the young lady behind the counter was very rude and had very poor customer service skills. We will NOT be returning for that reason. read more

The Italian Wedding Soup was horrible! It was so salty it wasn't even edible. This is not a healthy option for dinning. They also serve on real plates but give you the cheapest flimsy plastic spoon you could imagine. The to-go containers will leak. read more

I'm not from Amarillo and we decided to come to this place for breakfast awhile back. This place is so great! They've got so many different bagels from plain, to blueberry to snickerdoodle. They've got a ton of different spreads for them too. They have unique bagels and spreads and I wanted to try them all! It's a easy quick grab and go place or if you want can sit down and take your time. When we went in the morning I was surprised it was so busy. But I was told that was normal. The staff working were all hands on deck and got everyone through in a timely manner but without feeling rushed! If I lived near hear I'd definitely be back. Bring it to Dallas! read more

I would live here if I lived in Amarillo. While Bagel Place looks like it's located in an old Taco Bell, that is no indication of what's inside. Inside is a wonderful breakfast/brunch/lunch/snack spot that seems owner operated. The upside of being an old Taco Bell is they have a drive thru! I wondered in on a Friday morning on my way to the airport. I was overwhelmed with all the choices of bagels, spreads, bagel sandwiches, salads, baked goods etc. I decided on a bagel sandwich and the guy who seemed to be the owner operator took my order. I asked if they had egg whites and I got a friendly, "Sure, we can do that!" After I ordered, I found myself in front of a smorgasbord of iced teas. I chose green acai. It was good. I sat down, and my bagel sandwich arrived. Delicious. Hit the spot. Some people next to me got salads that looked great too. Their toasted bagels are the best I have had in Amarillo, and variety of choices is hard to beat. The jalapeño bagel with jalapeño cream cheese is my favorite breakfast item to get here. They also have other items, such as sandwiches and lunch choices as well! I had the mushroom sandwich, (the name escapes me) and it was delicious. The drive thru is very convenient and quick. The service has either been really good or mediocre. I suppose it depends on who helps you really since it looks like all of the employees have been there for a while and most know their stuff. read more

I travel to Amarillo every two weeks on business. There hasn't been a trip yet where I haven't stopped at the Bagel place for breakfast or lunch (sometimes both). I brought a colleague from New York with me to a breakfast meeting where I catered Bagel Place, she assured me that the bagels were on par with any New York bagel shop. Before I leave town I always stop to get a longhorn sandwich and a cup of Angle's kiss coffee to go. I cannot recommend them enough. read more
