Living in Amarillo for about a week, I learned a lot about the culture of the city and its two major coffee chains. I always find it interesting how many medium sized cities have a localized coffee chain that is so deeply rooted in the community. In Round Rock, it is Lamppost. In Amarillo, it is Roasters. There are quite a few Roasters locations in Amarillo, but the true OG is located off Georgia Street. I got there around 8:30 in the morning and it was capital B busy. Every table except one was occupied and the drive thru was wrapping around the building. By the time I got inside, I only had a short wait before ordering. I ordered a simple vanilla latte with oat milk in a medium size, along with a pumpkin spice muffin. For how busy it was, I was expecting to wait a while, but they churned drinks out pretty quickly. The barista even signaled to me to come grab the drinks for my girlfriend and me because I did not believe they had been made that fast. The coffee itself was pretty good. It leans on the sweeter side and is more focused on flavor than being espresso forward. It is clear why this place is such a staple in Amarillo. I also really liked that they had coffee sleeves that looked like Christmas sweaters and flannels for the season. It was a cute touch. It is a cute space and feels pretty traditional. One random thing I noticed was the pictures of Ronald Reagan on the walls. I do not know the reason or if it is some sort of long running joke, but it exists, along with books about Reagan scattered around the shop. There is only one single use bathroom, so on a busy morning it can take a bit if you need to use it. Every day, Roasters offers a coffee of the day on drip. I went to another location later in the week and tried it there as well, and it was good too. I think Roasters is a great option for coffee in the area and proves why it has been a staple for Amarillo residents since the 1990s. Back in 2018 we came here often when I was in college. It's a great place to study and recuperate on exam days or a treat after a difficult exam. The consistency at this location hasn't changed. For a while they didn't have matcha, but now they do. It can get a bit busy depending on what day you come in. Matcha is good, nothing crazy but gets the job done. I'm not sure why I tried the Green Siren people first this morning and I'm sorry about that. I should have come here instead. But I learned my lesson and here I am. I started with a cortado, which simply tells me that this is a legit coffee shop and not a spot where baristas simply press buttons for "latte." Cortado is the good stuff - half steamed (not foamed) milk and half espresso in a short glass. Over the next few hours, I was able to work through my work day with emails, Zoom meetings, more coffee and just a great comfortable spot for laptop work. Thanks, Roasters! Did a quick drive through to get a latte for the road. Drive thru line was long but went quickly. Quick diversion from the freeway, so easy off, easy on to keep you on road trip track. I also liked they had a pay line and a pick up line. Seems to make things faster. Coffee was hot. It came with a stopper which is great when you are driving. Great stop. read more

We stopped here while on our way to visit family in Dallas. First of all, the coffee was delicious, and the person who served me (I wish I had caught his name!) was super friendly and kind. Second, the care I experienced here is unmatched by any other shop I have been to so far- I left my favorite coat here, and not only did they ship it to me quickly, for free, but they also included some of their delicious coffee in the shipment. you know I used to love roasters and would come daily but the coffee is just not the same anymore. Nearly every time for the past 3 months that I've gotten coffee it just tastes like sweet milk... the espresso isn't strong like it used to be, which is what made me prefer roasters over the other coffee chains we have here... not to mention this location at georgia has overall gone downhill. lines take forever, they always mess up your drinks, seems like all of the employees now have no idea what they're doing. really sad about this one, i just cant support it anymore for every time to be a bad experience... read more

I recommend all roasters accept the one on Georgia. Every time I go there my order is messed up. I went just yesterday. They didn't add my cold foam. Then I asked her to add it she added caramel drizzle also. When I told her that I didn't order it she just said is it ok. read more

Super fast and efficient drive thru service made this the perfect stop on a road trip through Amarillo! The cashier was super friendly and I liked that they had maple flavoring on their menu. The cold brew was pretty good, but felt a little weak/watered down in comparison to other coffee places around. Went here on the way out of Amarillo based on a few recommendations. It was a really clean and nice looking place! The staff were also super courteous. My dad loved his hot caramel macchiato! The reason I'm giving 4 stars is that I really really disliked my iced coffee with one of their signature flavors "vanilla-caramel." It was soooo sweet that I could barely taste the coffee. Next time I'll probably just go for a plain coffee. Other than that, my dads drink was great and the staff were super friendly! read more

There's no review on Apple maps, but this place has the best coffee I've tasted outside of Miami, and I've had coffee all over the country and Europe. Clean brick building up on a slight hill, easy to see after waking up to take a walk at 6 o'clock in the morning. Clean inside, friendly staff and a perfect espresso, more of a triple shot macchiato with 1-2 oat milk. Big fresh bagel and smiling faces, I highly recommend this place when you're traveling through the yellow on your way back to the East coast. read more

I have to say that overall most of the employees I have encountered in Amarillo have been above and beyond great and the employees at Roasters are no different. I stopped in a few days ago to ask about a knitting group I had heard of that was supposed to be there on Thursdays. I wanted to verify if that was true because I had already gone to Wildcat Bluff looking for a group I heard about only to find out they had disbanded. The young man behind the counter cheerfully told me yes they meet between 4 and 5 on Thursdays and always sit at that table over there (pointed to a large table to the far back right as you walk in). I thanked him and decided to order a small coffee just because I felt compelled to give them some business since they were so cheerful about answering my question. A small coffee of the day was only $1.70 and it was delicious. They have all kinds of sugars and creamers available plus sprinkle cans of cinnamon and cocoa. Oh, and they had decaf in the coffee of the day which I appreciated since it was already 4 oz 5 pm. I came back on Thursday about 4 p.m. and ordered a large iced coffee. I forgot to order decaf or 50-50 so I felt the effects by the end of the day but the coffee was delicious and a large size lasted me the whole evening so I never had occasion to find out how much a refill was. The members of the group didn't start arriving till 5 p.m. and three of us didn't leave until after 9 p.m. closing time so I definitely enjoyed my afternoon and socializing along with the delicious coffee. Beware if you like to keep your receipts, they don't give you one although they might if I remembered to ask. I never think of it until I get home and clean out my pockets of receipts I've received and realize I don't have one from them. Because I didn't have time to grab a bite to eat on the way to the knitting group I ordered a sun-dried tomato bagel with cream cheese to go with my coffee. The two together were under $6. The Bagel was very good but I wish they would have been cooked a little more crunchy on the outside. If I think of it I will request that next time. I understand they are opening a new location on Bell this Monday, April 23, and I might just try to remember to stop by and congratulate them. That's just up the street from where I'm staying. I wish them luck on their new endeavor. I don't go to coffee shops much and I do boycott Starbucks so I'm always willing to patronize an Indie coffee shop if I'm in the market to stop by one. read more

This was my first time trying Roasters and I was pleasantly surprised. I love local coffee shops and Roasters did not disappoint! I ordered the mocha (tall... which is actually Grande in starbucks language) and it was under $5. While I realize this is a little more expensive than Starbucks, it is not by much -- and I would rather pay a little more to support local. The drive thru was easy to access and the service was a little slower than I am used to, but nothing to complain about. My coffee was rich and delicious and gave me that extra kick I was looking for when I order an espresso drink. I will definitely try Roasters again. But next time I want to explore the menu options with a little more detail. What a cool little joint. read more

These coffee shops are far better than the national chains. We are here (at one place or another) at least twice a week unless we are out of town. You can count on good service and pretty much constant cup of whatever. Service is friendly and they usually have our order ready quickly. Only one bone to pick with them. The store on Georgia has a sign on the door "No Smoking, lobby and patio" and yet there's usually someone right beside (a couple of feet) the front door and you have to walk through a cloud of smoke to get in the door. That's pretty rough on those who cannot tolerate smoke for any reason. I would like to see them either enforce their policy or put a more prominent sign on the patio. Thank you. read more

An inviting, cozy, and, comfortable coffee shop. I had a large mocha and it turned out great. This paired with the umpqua (spelling?) oatmeal made for a great breakfast. Great little coffee shop - we went to the one off S Soncy Road. They had a wide variety of hot and iced coffee drinks with a wide alternative milk selection. The drinks were tasty, well made and they kindly corrected an oversight in not making one of them with an alternative milk. They didn't charge us for the mistake either so we got a free drink! Drink prep was timely and efficient despite a car line for the drive up window that was 10-15 cars deep it appeared (we went inside). They also sell bulk coffee a few baked goods and t-shirts. Very disappointed. I was going out to do my Christmas shopping and went through the drive through at the Roasters at 45th and Bell to start my shopping. I ordered the 12 oz. mocha peppermint latte. Hot. It was $5.20!!! I could not taste the peppermint at all and the coffee was barely warm. I went to Starbucks on Soncy yesterday. I ordered the 16 oz. Pumpkin Spice latte with an additional shot of espresso. That's three shots of espresso. It was $.50 higher. I do my best to shop locally, but getting a subpar product at a higher price than a national chain does not make me want to do business with a this local chain. read more
