Bagel University has amazing bagels with unique cream cheese and sandwiches. In the world of breakfast sandwiches, theirs are a force to be reckoned with. Personally I feel the have way too many employees, which sometimes turns into too many cooks in the kitchen. When they nail your order, you have the best in the town. Unfortunately I have to write this review from my last visit July 15th I have been coming here for just over a year now every time I step in the door I feel as though the employees look annoyed as well I've seen the same reaction for Majority of the time customers walk in as well when I brought my family the stares got worse as it appeared we were going to have a big order. Specifically I don't think I have ever once in the time I've been coming here seen the older female employee smile or be nice to a customer also intimidating. ABOUT THE FOOD I believe that consistency is key for a breakfast sandwich or how things are cooked it's a rare occasion that my sandwiches taste the same and often times it's different from the day before. Sometimes I've had meats on my sandwiches be totally overcooked or undercooked and it can be different every occasion I go I try to expand what I order to keep giving new things a shot but often times it is the same feeling I get with all of the orders I've placed. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place itself is beautiful with couches and nice waiting area but if they want to improve it will have to start with the customer service not all look like there day is ruined because a customer walked in the door but a smile from some will suffice.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Being one of the only bagel/breakfast sandwich shops in the Vineland area I hope that they can improve on these things EDIT TO HIS RESPONSE: I have experienced consistency in well known bagel shops such as hot bagels for example. Does not look different and or taste different every time that it is ordered. I know that in the future if I'm looking for a smile it will most likely be found elsewhere. I have also heard other customers in the store while I have been there with my family complaining about the customer service and how it seemed rude (same employee mentioned before) there are also comments on here stating similar experience about feeling out of place in the store due to lack of customer service/ friendliness. I wrote a review about 4 months ago regarding how all of our previous 4 orders were messed up. We decided to give them another shot today. We called ahead to make sure they had gluten free bagels and dairy free cream cheese. We were told they had both. We get there, place our order and pay. While we were waiting my husband was informed that the dairy free cream cheese was "bad". My order had to be changed, which was annoying but okay. No offer to refund the up charge for the dairy free cream cheese. Unfortunately this will be the last time we spend money here. read more

Don't be fooled by the name! They don't offer any degrees but do offer the best bagels in the area. I don't typically order their sandwiches since the specialty ones are $10 (though when I have I've enjoyed them), but I love ordering a dozen or so bagels online to pickup, bring home, and enjoy. Would definitely recommend ordering ahead to avoid the wait you might encounter on the weekends! I'm glad they've reopened in this different location but have a few thoughts on ways that the experience could be improved, hence why Bagel U is a (generous) 4/5 for me: - Seating could be more accessible (the tables are either high tops or a counter with chairs that are too low for comfort, and the only other options are either picnic tables outside in the parking lot or couches). A minor adjustment here would be great to make the seating more friendly for elderly folks and those who aren't as able-bodied. - The line and waiting situation could be more functional if they roped it into a snake so that it's easier to read the menu and figure out what to order before you're up at the counter. - Customer service could be friendlier when closing up. It's missing the old place's welcoming charm. Rooting for this place in the new location and would recommend it for those seeking an actually solid bagel in SNJ. read more

Unfortunately, this is the only bagel shop in town. I attempted to place an order over the phone and was put on hold for 6 minutes. I waited to so long, my battery died (not really...just being sarcastic). I hung up and called back, where I finally placed my order. I arrived in 20 minutes as instructed to only wait another 20 minutes. Their parking lot is the worst. It's so small I couldn't park my kid's power wheels. I only order 2 breakfast sandwiches, not a bagel tray. I returned home to find I received someone else's order and not my own. When I called back and explained to the girl I received the wrong order, she replied, God Damn it." Not wanting to go back, I just ate this poor bastard breakfast, to find my sandwich had microwaved eggs. Who the hell microwaves eggs when you have a grill. Two breakfast sandwiches and an orange juice equals $22.00. Overall, the worst experience I have had in a long time. You would be hard pressed to find a bagel place that can compete with Bagel U in the surrounding area. Love their new location & continued partnership Macs Amour. The bigger location has come with a bigger menu, and they've up the ante with grills in the kitchen now, which has definitely improved their breakfast sandwiches. We got their loaded tots, which were a beast on their own. Tots were super crispy, and topped with cheese and chipped beef - really yummy and filling. The space itself is really well done - clean fishes, plenty of seating, and even a cute space with couches and a tv. Parking can be a headache when you are there with the rush of morning bagel-getters, but if you are patient or are willing to park up the street, you won't have much of a problem. read more

I have visited the new location three times since they have opened. Service has been friendly and efficient even while they are getting slammed. Bagels were quality. Sandwiches have improved now that they offer scrambled or fried egg. The interior is cute and there is plenty of seating. They did a good job marrying the Macs Amour space with Bagel U. It is nice to see small businesses growing and improving. I will continue to support them and hopefully they continue to provide good service. It is no secret from past reviews that orders go wrong too frequently and some of the staff can be snippy. I have had those experiences as well and actually stopped being a customer for years due to it. Considering this a fresh start and will continue to be a customer. read more

So I ordered on Grub Hub. This place adds more to the cost than if you just go there. Some places do that I have learned. We ordered 2 steak, egg, and cheese bagels. $12.99 each. Then says add cheese for $1. Its a steak, egg, AND cheese. Why would I have to pay a dollar? I put a note about that on the order. Also that I wanted fried eggs and not scrambled...just so you know they do both so say what you want as it dosnt give you the choice on GH. Someone called from there and said do you want cheese or not. I said it comes with cheese why would I add cheese and pay more? You just do..do you want cheese? Yes...American. I was annoyed as $13 is already pricey. Anyway...driver delivered it and the bag must have weighed 4 lbs!!! These babies were BIG! They were very good!!! Used to live in Vineland for most of my life still go down to the area every few weeks for a haircut and decided to stop into the new bagel university location after not being there for a bagel in a long time and I will say that I won't be returning ..everyone seemed to have an annoyed attitude no one was very friendly and I even asked the guy if the original location was also still open along with the new one and he gave me a short answer and rolled his eyes. Found this place by accident, now I go at least once a week (sometimes two or three times). Even when they're extremely busy everyone is super friendly and I've never had a problem with my order. Prices are fair, food is delicious. Their iced coffee is one of my favorites I've had. read more

I am incredibly disappointed with both service & product. I have ordered and eaten at this location several times. Order was placed at 10:45 am and was not delivered until 11:35am. We were told it would be 30 minutes. The sandwich's were cold and bagels were rock hard. My boyfriend called to speak to a manager and was spoken to both aggressively and extremely rudely. The woman he spoke to argued and gave many excuses without an apology. He was told our home was a far drive and that is why our order took as long as it did. He was abruptly hung up on. I called back myself and spoke to another woman who explained that it's their busiest time and they are short staffed. As someone who has worked in the service and food industry, being short staffed is a sorry excuse to be spoken to so rudely. Even after the wait my boyfriend still tipped 20% to the delivery driver. The driver didn't apologize for the wait or say thank you for the tip. We later were told he was the manager. GPS puts this location at 2.9 miles from my home. Distance may be relative, but to most that is not a far drive. Unfortunately, would not recommend this place. Two thumbs down. read more

Use to be an awesome place, but customer service is terrible! It's more of if you don't like what I'm doing go somewhere else attitude. It's the food service industry, mistakes are part of the buisness. Especially when it's the employees fault, you don't debate it or make reasons, why it happen, just handle it. I stopped going there after the last mistake. They kept conversating while taking the order, screwed it up and forgot what I asked for & didn't even write it down, then gets an attitude because of their screw up. What world do you live it? Last time, I'm sure they won't miss me & I them. There's a bunch more breakfast spots that are have much better customer service. My experience at Bagel University was straight to the point. The young lady at the register didn't greet me like she did the other customer after me. New Jersey is known for their bagels, porkroll (Taylor ham depending on area) egg and cheese sandwiches. When you walk into a NJ bagel shop and you get the snotty attitude but the end result is a delicious bagel with a good spread or a particular sandwich, you don't mind the terrible customer service. Unfortunately for this shop, I'm sure the only reason their doors remain open is because of the lack of competition nearby. When you give me a snotty attitude after I ordered to then ask me if I want my bagel toasted (a clear sign your bagels lack flavor or the proper consistency) and only to turn around to nuke my eggs in the microwave and slap on a piece of cheap American cheese (which I was charged extra for) means you have no right selling bagels in the state of New Jersey! People, take the 25 minute drive to find a shop that knows that they are doing and stay clear of this failing institution known as Bagel University. God speed! read more

This was my first time trying this place. I was hesitant because of so many negative reviews, but I wanted to give it a shot. I should have listened to the reviews!! I was paying, I put my credit card in the machine. The screen came up and said "Tips" and then "Remove Card" so I took my credit card out of the machine. Then the employee began to say to me repeatedly, YOU DIDN'T PAY!" I kept explaining that my card was in the machine and the tips part came up. He just continued to repeat that I didn't pay over and over again. Then he went to get another worker. Apparently the machine didn't register my payment. Instead of saying to me, "you need to put your card back in the machine" or " the transaction didn't go through" he just went on like I was trying to not pay for my food. This is the only place locally I know to get a decent bagel. They are made on premise about 15 feet from where the display case is. The highlight for me are the "university" sandwiches.
