Bagels

I love bagels and this spot didn't disappoint. Bringing a dozen home to FL with me! It's a small shop- kinda hidden between buildings but there's a lovely patio with shade and picnic tables . There are also outlets to plug in if you need to work. Super happy I found bagels uprising during my trip here !

Salt Bagel

Best salt bagel I've ever had. Unlike 99% of salt bagels, this one had a perfect amount of salt. Also, the green goddess cream cheese was so good, it was clearly made with fresh herbs.

The Breakfast Spud

Delicious and quick bagel sandwiches--a great treat for breakfast. My favorite is a bagel with eggs, cheese, meat, and potatoes on the sandwich. Staff has always been friendly and willing to answer my questions, and they're fairly quick even when busy. On a weekend I might recommend ordering ahead if you're in a hurry. It's a small place so there isn't really any seating inside.

Jalepeno cheddar bagel with jalepeno cream cheese, bacon, egg

Food quality was great! Bacon egg and cheese on a jalepeno cheddar bagel with jalepeno cream cheese! Delicious and 5 star flavor! The staff worked quick and was able to serve up great food. Very helpful with the menu and any questions. No seating to eat inside. There is a bench, but its more of a waiting area then a sit down and eat area. They have outdoor seating, so summer time should be great. Winter is difficult because we had to eat in our car. Definitely a great bagel spot!

Ooey Gooey with Bacon and a Coffee

My son suggested this place for brunch, and we were happy he did. My Ooey Gooey with Bacon was delicious! The cinnamon bagel is covered with cinnamon crunch on both halves. Same with my husband's everything bagel - covered on both halves - which he noticed and appreciated. Nice spot if you want to eat outside, which is the only available seating. Their menu has plenty of unique options, and they sell items to go like the spices. Great location with plenty of shopping available along the avenue. Staff were friendly and helpful, as well. In the area, Check Them Out!

Cozy little spot with delicious breakfast sandwiches! Recommend the soft egg, sausage, cheese on a cinnamon bagel Def one of the best bagel sandwiches I've had in the DMV area.

Pastrami Egg and Cheese on an Everything Bagel

We love a good bagel sandwich. We've been trying to find new bagel places and Bagel Uprising kept coming up. Del Rey spots have always been rough and near Bagel Uprising is no different. It's kind of down a small alley and is tucked in a little corner. The shop isn't too big, not much sitting room inside at all but there was some spots outside. We went in and the smells inside were immaculate. Luckily they weren't too busy after 1 PM (Sunday). We got a pastrami, egg, and cheese on an everything bagel, A classic bagel sandwich with salmon, a 6 pack of mini babka, and 2 hash browns. They were pretty quick with our order, about 10 minutes. The pastrami, egg, and cheese was pretty good. The bagel was chewy and there was good amount of pastrami. The classic with salmon was also good. Nice amount of salmon and toppings. Hash browns weren't really crispy but still decent. Babka muffins were nice bite sized treats, not too sweet. I would come back if I'm around the Del Rey area for breakfast. Would definitely come back to pick up just bagels and cream cheese.

I am not sure if it is the water or what the special ingredient is but I really like Uprising's bagels. If you visit there are some outside tables where you can eat. Service is quick and you can get your bagel toasted with your smear of cream cheese. Normally, I prefer the everything bagel but I really like their cinnamon bagel. Many people apparently order for pickup.

Arrived late and I paid $5 for a broken piece of bagel which arrived in a wrapper. The bagels arrived mushy. It was very disappointing

My friend took us here last year and when we visited again we needed to come here. The bagels are small but mighty. I LOVE the green goddess cream cheese and was happy with the egg sandwich I ordered for sure!

5 STARS!! My unit at work was lucky enough to get catering from Bagel Uprising one morning and WOW. The bagels were PERFECT! Crunchy on the outside, perfectly seasoned, soft on the inside. So fresh! My personal favorite is the everything bagel with scallion cream cheese. Everyone who got a bagel commented on how delicious they were and many people went back for seconds. I highly recommend Bagel Uprising for breakfast, catering, whatever! Definitely one of the BEST BA

He was in the mood for Lahmacun (sounds like Lahamajoun) super thin, crispy pizza topped with a mixture of minced meat with peppers, tomato, herbs, and spices. More fine, light, and delicate than the typical American thin pizza. The service, drinks, and food were beyond stellar in Narman. We felt like the only customers there and were waited on by many staff. The highlight of the day there was their pizza and their beverage presentation and flavors. We came on a weekday night and were the only people there in the end. My husband was impressed at how upscale the restaurant was and it was the finest Turkish restaurant he ever visited. He said it was similar to the hotel dining place he lived at in Turkey. This was our first restaurant in downtown Alexandria and one of our best experiences in Alexandria. The Lahmacun was the finest Turkish pizza my husband ever had. He ordered three of them! Each pizza was served on a large wood board with extra toppings on the side like lemon wedges, cilantro, and onions. They are so fine and thin that you can roll them up to eat. We had to put some of the last pizza aside for take out. I ate the takeout piece and was very impressed how delicious it was after being in the fridge overnight & re-heated. I loved the flavors of the Lahmacun and I don't even care for pizza that much. It is my most preferred pizza in my life ever next to the Crazy Ex in The Thirsty Goat in Clarksville, Tennessee. I ordered a Turkish dish with a rich and ancient history, Hunkar Begendi, or "Sultan's Delight." It dates back several centuries, and it was prepared for the sultans and high-ranking officials, and was served during special occasions and celebrations. The Hunkar Begendi had lamb and velvet soft eggplant with spices. I ordered it with a side of rice. It was very delicious and unique. Yet the Lahmacun despite its simplicity stole the show and cost 1/3 of the price of the Hunkar Begendi. For my beverage, I ordered The Elma. It has a stunning presentation in a smoke filled glass box. The Elma is a beverage with Bourbon, Peach liquor, vanilla maple, Apple butter,Lemon juice, and Apple cider. You have to watch the videos of how it is presented at the table. At the end of our dinner, they played happy birthday and surprised my husband with an ice cream and pumpkin dessert with a candle. So wonderful & heartfelt. It was a fascinating and flavorful dish. The pumpkin tasted like sweet potato & was different. This is a must see place for Turkish cuisine and the finest restaurant service. Prices are low to fair for such high quality food and service. Five Stars.

The place can get quite busy so I would highly recommend making a reservation first. We ordered some cocktails which all tasted amazing, I enjoyed the espresso martini the most. Our table ordered the baked oysters and tuna tartare to start. The oysters were seriously so fricking good, I wanted to order another round! The tuna tarate was refreshing and tasted really good as well. I highly recommend ordering the fish curry or their scallop entree. I also got to have a bite of the chicken & waffles and the steak pasta but I would skip on those. Super excited to come back!!

My wife and I arrived around 1:20 p.m. on a Thursday. The lunch crowd was still going strong, which only reinforced that we had picked a popular spot. Unfortunately, the experience went downhill almost immediately. When we walked in, there was no hostess to be found. After waiting about four minutes, she finally appeared and offered us a choice between a small table in the corner or one by the bar. Given how busy the restaurant was, we took the table by the bar. About seven minutes later, someone finally came by to offer us water and explained that our server was busy, but she would help us in the meantime. No problem. We ordered the Avo Goddess Salad and asked that it be split so we could share it. A few minutes later, our server arrived, introduced herself, and we let her know we had already ordered the salad and were ready to place our lunch orders. She was very helpful in guiding my wife toward the Old Bay Shrimp Burger. I was excited to order the Shrimp and Grits until I learned it contained Andouille sausage and, according to our server, couldn't be prepared without it. Since the restaurant highlights that everything is made from scratch, that surprised me. I ended up ordering the Ahi Tuna Salad instead. So far, so good. Then came the frustration. We spent the next 20 minutes slowly picking at our salad, growing increasingly hungry and confused. You know something is wrong when guests who were seated after you begin receiving their meals before you. Finally, at 2:10 p.m., our food arrived: my Ahi Tuna Salad and a Pulled Lamb Sandwich for my wife. Except my wife had ordered the Shrimp Burger. When we pointed out the mistake to what was now our third server, she quickly assured us it would be corrected. A few minutes later, our original server returned and took full responsibility. She explained that the lamb and shrimp items are next to each other in the POS system and she accidentally selected the wrong item. She assured us the Shrimp Burger would be out in two minutes and suggested we enjoy the fries that came with the lamb sandwich while we waited. Unfortunately, another ten minutes passed before the burger finally arrived. Here's where things became truly disappointing: the top bun was still cold--almost frozen. My wife ended up removing it entirely and eating the sandwich with just the bottom bun. At best, the Shrimp Burger was decent, but certainly not worth the wait and frustration. As for my Ahi Tuna Salad, it felt like something I could easily make at home, especially considering the $25 price tag. I'm also not entirely convinced the tuna was particularly fresh. I can't bring myself to give Matt and Tony's one star because the atmosphere is genuinely cool and inviting. So I settled on two stars--mostly for how I felt before the experience unraveled. And listen, I get it. Mistakes happen. We're all human. But as someone who eats out frequently, here's one piece of advice: when a restaurant makes a significant mistake with a customer's order, consider taking that item off the bill. Sometimes that gesture is the only reason a guest decides to come back.
