Long home to one of the Firehook venues (which closed in 2024), Old Town Alexandria, Virginia welcomed Eclairon earlier this year (2026). The place looks great! Sturdy, beautiful, and well-planned walls of flowers supported by custom-made pergolas burst with spring colors, and the pergolas frame choice outdoor dining places. There remain a few parking spaces at the storefront, but there's ample parking on the side streets adjacent to the venue. There's a CVS across S. Washington Street, and a branch of Capital One across Wilkes Street, and there's a bus stop for WMATA's Route 12B to whisk you to Braddock Road or Ballston Station. The shop when I visited was spotless, and its wares were irresistible. Specialty eclairs (thus the shop's name) greet you as you enter. There are full-size celebratory cakes, marzipan-like pastries, small treats and not-so-small goodies. I was there to pick up a ham and cheese croissant to fuel me as I worked at one of Alexandria's voting stations early in April. The sandwich kept fresh throughout the night and made the perfect lunch the following day. It pays to mind where you park - the spaces immediately in front of the shop's doors are convenient but there are only a few of them, so it might make sense to look to the nearby streets for parking - or you can hop on either the A11 or A12 WMATA buses if you're heading into the District after your meal.

Walked in an hour before closing after wanting a sweet treat and this spot popped up next to me. They have a VERY small parking lot. Maybe two/three cars max but there is plenty of street parking around. Most of the items were sold out, which is a great thing considering they've only been open since Feb 6th! I was able to grab a few sweet treats regardless. The cake was called Alexandria, and it was good! It was recommended I try the Toffee cheesecake, which was absolutely delish! Considering it was toffee, it was overpowering with sweetness. The cheesecake helped to mellow it out! I grabbed a pistachio cookie. Amazing! And one more treat that I cant remember the name to! Sorry! Everything was tasty and fresh and truly hit the spot for my sweet tooth! The atmosphere inside is very relaxed and I can see myself coming back to try one of their coffees (decaf is available) and a breakfast sando! Breakfast is until 2 pm, btw! Glad to see that! Customer service was welcoming and helpful, too!

Stopped by Saturday. It's a nice, bright open space with a decent amount of seating. Service was quick and pleasant. We got: 1. Queen Bee - latte with honey and cardamom Disappointing. Didn't taste the cardamom at all. 2. Toffee cheesecake - the toffee flavor is really from the top caramel. The bits of toffee inside the cheesecake are ever so slightly crunchy but definitely not flavorful. The cheesecake, itself, was nicely presented, dense in a good way, and tasted good. 3. Biscoff eclair - fave of the day. That said, the bakery case had so many beautiful choices and I'm no quitter, so I'll definitely be back to try other items.

First time here today. I stopped by in the morning and was overwhelmed with the delicious offerings. I brought my son here for his birthday after school and let him pick out some goodies. We both agreed this is our new favorite spot. The espresso is very smooth as well. I recommend this place. 100%

Think we caught them on opening weekend, great refresh from the prior tenants; bright and airy with great displays. Their take on the Dubai chocolate, in cookie form, was a hit. It was a crowded Saturday but service didn't lack and lines moved fast. Look forward to coming back and trying other menu items

Eclairons is a beautiful little café, and I'm so glad they've opened a location in Old Town Alexandria! From the moment I walked in, I felt genuinely welcomed. The coffee is delicious, and my breakfast bagel sandwich with tomato and egg was the perfect way to start the day--simple, fresh, and so satisfying. The éclairs are absolutely amazing, and the pastries are truly mouth-watering. They're not just tasty, but visually stunning too--each one is beautifully crafted and feels like a little work of art. They have an impressive menu with something for everyone: breakfast burritos, croissants, sandwiches, quiches, brownies, and cookies. Right now, they also have the cutest Valentine's Day desserts--perfect whether you're celebrating as a couple or with a whole group. My absolute favorite item is the almond banana bread--it is soooo good. It tastes like an amaretto cookie and banana bread merged into a light, fluffy dream. I'm still thinking about it. The ambiance is refreshing and cozy, blending warm wood and greenery with classic café vibes. There's also a really cool mural to the left when you walk in that adds so much character. The pastry display wraps all the way around the counter, so make sure you walk around and take in all the treats--they're worth seeing. Bonus points for fun and creative drinks like the honey cardamom coffee and pistachio latte--and yes, they do adorable latte art too And in a town where parking can be tricky, having four dedicated parking spots right out front is a huge plus. I can't wait to go back.

I had a sweet tooth...and Eclairons had what I needed--good coffee and good treats! Service was outstanding--polite and knowledgeable staff. Although it was busy and not an empty table inside or outside, they took care of everyone promptly. Casual/relaxed vibe and clean. I took my coffee and treats to go, and they packaged they well. The Lord Baltimore is now my new favorite dessert. It's lite, creamy, and nutty. I also tried a couple of the eclairs, and they were also good and fresh. They have a vast selection to choose from.

Delicate Hot Chocolate…read more I have long been an admirer of fine hot chocolate. Traditionally, I would visit Starbucks or a contemporary coffeehouse, only to receive what often felt like mocha syrup blended with steamed milk--pleasant, perhaps, but rarely memorable. This morning marked my first visit to Tatte Bakery & Café in Old Town Alexandria where the hot chocolate proved to be an unexpected delight. The associate explained that it was prepared with semisweet chocolate and warm milk. Intrigued, I ordered a small and chose to enjoy it outdoors. The price was refreshingly reasonable, while the bakery's bright interior and refined ambiance created an inviting first impression. My drink arrived within approximately five minutes, presented elegantly in a cup and saucer. The temperature was perfectly warm--comforting without being excessively hot--and the overall presentation was quietly sophisticated but has room for improvement. Then came the taste.... The texture was exceptionally silky and smooth, with no grainy residue, excessive sweetness, or bitter aftertaste. It was rich without being heavy and indulgent without becoming overwhelming. Even better, it left behind no awkward crown of foam. I have enjoyed hot chocolate in Sicily, where the experience was quite literally a cup of melted chocolate--decadent, dense, and almost dessert-like. Tatte's interpretation was more delicate and restrained, yet equally satisfying in its own way. Tatte has now earned first place in my personal ranking. There is, however, still an opportunity to elevate the service experience. A cloth napkin and small spoon presented alongside the drink would add a more polished touch, while a subtle soupçon of finely shaved chocolate would enhance both the visual presentation and the final sip. Overall, I award Tatte's hot chocolate an A-. I look forward to seeing whether it can achieve an even higher distinction upon my next visit.

When it's crowded you can barely hear your name. We stopped in the late afternoon and it was cool and empty. I had a delicious matcha latte and some lovely baked treat. Thanks a latte, Tatte!

The kind where one cookie can easily be shared (or not lol ). They're rich and sweet, so if you're someone who loves a heavy dessert that feels like a treat-treat, you'll be in heaven. Easily a 10/10 for that category. What really stood out to me was the variety of flavors. I tried the strawberry matcha cookie and was honestly surprised by how much I liked it. It had a really nice balance of flavors and didn't feel gimmicky at all. It's always a risk trying something a little different, but this one definitely paid off. Another thing I appreciated was that they had a section of cookies discounted because they were made the night before. I love when places do this...it's a great way to try more flavors without spending a lot, and honestly, the cookies were still really good. Service-wise, the cashier was super helpful and patient, especially when it came to explaining flavors and giving recommendations. That always makes a difference when you're staring at a case full of options and can't decide.

So Sunday morning, I pulled up to Ben'YaYs with the whole crew ready to see what the hype was about. When we walked in, there were already a few people inside, but it wasn't overwhelmingly busy. The young lady working the register was absolutely wonderful. She was patient, attentive, and even let my son take over the ordering process when he started telling her exactly what our family wanted. One thing I really appreciated was her recommendation when I started ordering multiple individual orders of beignets. She suggested that we get a box instead, which was actually the better deal and saved me some money. Listen, I love when somebody helps me spend less money without me having to ask! We went with a box of the original beignets plus two orders of the cinnamon sugar beignets. Since we got the box, we also got three dipping sauces. And if you have kids under 10, you already know that anything they can dip is automatically more exciting. Our order came out pretty quickly, and let me just say... THESE BEIGNETS WERE GOOD. Like, everybody was already talking about coming back before we had even finished eating. Four of the five people with me had never had a beignet before, so they had nothing to compare them to. But I've had beignets in New Orleans AND locally, and I can confidently say these held their own. Light, delicious, covered in that glorious powdered sugar, and the cinnamon sugar ones were a fun addition. The front area is on the smaller side, but thankfully there's a back seating area where you can actually sit down and enjoy your food. That made a big difference with my family. And let's talk parking because this is important! Street parking is pretty sparse, especially on a Sunday during church hours. Thankfully, there's paid parking behind the restaurant. I paid about $3, which was well worth not driving around the block 17 times looking for a spot. Would I come back? Absolutely. The kids are already asking when we're going again, and honestly, I'm not mad about it.
