Long home to one of the Firehook venues (which closed in 2024), Old Town Alexandria, Virginia welcomed Eclairon earlier this year (2026). The place looks great! Sturdy, beautiful, and well-planned walls of flowers supported by custom-made pergolas burst with spring colors, and the pergolas frame choice outdoor dining places. There remain a few parking spaces at the storefront, but there's ample parking on the side streets adjacent to the venue. There's a CVS across S. Washington Street, and a branch of Capital One across Wilkes Street, and there's a bus stop for WMATA's Route 12B to whisk you to Braddock Road or Ballston Station. The shop when I visited was spotless, and its wares were irresistible. Specialty eclairs (thus the shop's name) greet you as you enter. There are full-size celebratory cakes, marzipan-like pastries, small treats and not-so-small goodies. I was there to pick up a ham and cheese croissant to fuel me as I worked at one of Alexandria's voting stations early in April. The sandwich kept fresh throughout the night and made the perfect lunch the following day. It pays to mind where you park - the spaces immediately in front of the shop's doors are convenient but there are only a few of them, so it might make sense to look to the nearby streets for parking - or you can hop on either the A11 or A12 WMATA buses if you're heading into the District after your meal. read more

Great quiche. Haven't tried their pastry yet but my son loves it and their coffee. A few tables inside and some out side as well.

Walked in an hour before closing after wanting a sweet treat and this spot popped up next to me. They have a VERY small parking lot. Maybe two/three cars max but there is plenty of street parking around. Most of the items were sold out, which is a great thing considering they've only been open since Feb 6th! I was able to grab a few sweet treats regardless. The cake was called Alexandria, and it was good! It was recommended I try the Toffee cheesecake, which was absolutely delish! Considering it was toffee, it was overpowering with sweetness. The cheesecake helped to mellow it out! I grabbed a pistachio cookie. Amazing! And one more treat that I cant remember the name to! Sorry! Everything was tasty and fresh and truly hit the spot for my sweet tooth! The atmosphere inside is very relaxed and I can see myself coming back to try one of their coffees (decaf is available) and a breakfast sando! Breakfast is until 2 pm, btw! Glad to see that! Stopped by Saturday. It's a nice, bright open space with a decent amount of seating. Service was quick and pleasant. We got: 1. Queen Bee - latte with honey and cardamom Disappointing. Didn't taste the cardamom at all. 2. Toffee cheesecake - the toffee flavor is really from the top caramel. The bits of toffee inside the cheesecake are ever so slightly crunchy but definitely not flavorful. The cheesecake, itself, was nicely presented, dense in a good way, and tasted good. 3. Biscoff eclair - fave of the day. That said, the bakery case had so many beautiful choices and I'm no quitter, so I'll definitely be back to try other items. read more

Fabulous B and I enjoyed this cafe on Easter afternoon. She had one of the espresso drinks and I ordered the Dubai chocolate pastry. It was sublime. The only small issue was that my fork could not slice through to the bottom of the pastry as the crust was hard. First world problems, am I right? The ambiance felt a bit European to me which was fun. Service was friendly and helpful.Will definitely return to try more menu options! read more

These are the absolute best pastries in old town! Off of King Street so less busy; the egg tarts and biscoff eclairs are must tries!

I met a friend here yesterday morning. I got a Machiatio and a spinach goat cheese quiche. The quiche was fabulous! The problem is with their customer service. I had to wait 5 minutes for my coffee! There were 3 people working behind the counter and there was one person in front of me! They also acted like they were doing me a favor, not at all interested in my business. When mt friend came, it was the same thing with her waiting for her coffee! It was not at all busy. For those reasons, I won't be back, even though I loved their quiche. There are far too many coffee shops and bakeries in Old Town to waste my time , money and energy. I recommend Maman on Washington and King Streets. read more

Think we caught them on opening weekend, great refresh from the prior tenants; bright and airy with great displays. Their take on the Dubai chocolate, in cookie form, was a hit. Eclairons is a beautiful little café, and I'm so glad they've opened a location in Old Town Alexandria! From the moment I walked in, I felt genuinely welcomed. The coffee is delicious, and my breakfast bagel sandwich with tomato and egg was the perfect way to start the day--simple, fresh, and so satisfying. The éclairs are absolutely amazing, and the pastries are truly mouth-watering. They're not just tasty, but visually stunning too--each one is beautifully crafted and feels like a little work of art. They have an impressive menu with something for everyone: breakfast burritos, croissants, sandwiches, quiches, brownies, and cookies. Right now, they also have the cutest Valentine's Day desserts--perfect whether you're celebrating as a couple or with a whole group. My absolute favorite item is the almond banana bread--it is soooo good. It tastes like an amaretto cookie and banana bread merged into a light, fluffy dream. I'm still thinking about it. The ambiance is refreshing and cozy, blending warm wood and greenery with classic café vibes. There's also a really cool mural to the left when you walk in that adds so much character. The pastry display wraps all the way around the counter, so make sure you walk around and take in all the treats--they're worth seeing. Bonus points for fun and creative drinks like the honey cardamom coffee and pistachio latte--and yes, they do adorable latte art too And in a town where parking can be tricky, having four dedicated parking spots right out front is a huge plus. I recommend going there very highly . Free parking in their little lot, very friendly and efficient staff, bright clean space to sit in. their pastries, etc look delicious. All I got was an iced coffee, which was fine except I was surprised with how long it took to prepare. It also would have been even better if skim milk, etc were available - all they had was half-and-half when I was there at 4pm on a Sunday. Website said they close at seven but they actually closed at six that day. This didn't inconvenience me but I suggest calling to verify when they close if you're coming late in the day. This was Alexandria's and not the coffee shop's fault but I was shocked to see I was charged 11% tax (5% regular tax and 6% Restaurant tax, if I remember correctly). Tthis did not matter on a single cup of coffee, but it makes me less enthusiastic about having a fancy Alexandria in the future. read more

We were super disappointed after our last visit. There were no prices on any of the pastries, which left us in shock when we got to the register. For the size of the eclairs, it is very pricey at $7 per eclair. We tried the chocolate and matcha eclair and a chocolate cake. All were underwhelming. There are probably 8-10 small tables inside. This delightful cafe offers a spectacularly diverse and delicious assortment of both Lebanese and French pastries, sandwiches, soups, and more. This includes croissants eclairs, hummus, soups, ratatouille and so much more. (All homemade recipes.) The lentil soup I had was first rate, as were the pita chips- the best I've ever had. I am a coffee snob, and it is hard to please me. But, I thought their coffee was just strong enough, and smooth without being acidic or bitter. Beautiful cafe in a great location in Old Town. I am glad that this is a family owned small business and I can tell they really poured their hearts into making it such a nice cafe. I don't want to hurt their reputation on yelp because running a small business is very challenging as it is-- but I would encourage ownership to really focus on improving the guest experience by training their staff in customer service. Absolutely love this place! I've been to both locations. The options of desserts, pastries feel vast, but not overwhelming like some cafes. It also seems to rotate keeping the menu options fresh. The cafe is brightly lit, but still feels homey. Somewhere you can sit down and enjoy your breakfast that is clean, peaceful and smelling heavenly. The Coffee and other items are great. I live in New York, but make a point of stopping at Eclairons every time I'm in the DC area to pick up a treat for myself (and some to bring back to my roommate who is also obsessed with these delicious pastries). Everything on the menu is delicious, but the croissants are my all time favorites. I visited the new location on my most recent trip and it was as pleasant as ever-- great service, delicious food. I recently stopped here with a colleague on a work trip. The food was amazing, I ordered an eclair and a latte, both were better than I had in a long time. The ambiance was peaceful, and relaxing and the staff were incredibly patient and helpful, answering questions and describing everything I asked about. The owner even came out of the kitchen to say hello at one point, she was incredibly gracious! I can't wait to stop here again to try the chocolate croissants. read more

It is Sunday morning and the hours of operation stated they open at 8:00. We arrived at 8:02 walked up to the doors only to find they were locked. We made eye contact with several employees and no one bothered to gesture a thing. There were also customers inside which made this even worse. So we walked slowly to our vehicle hoping someone would, I don't know maybe run and unlock the doors and invite us in... nope we actually watched them watch us drive away, never to return.
