My biggest tip is to plan for a little bit of a crowd, this space was busy! But the ambiance cannot be beat, it's colorful and makes the delicious food more of an experience. Definitely recommend!

Amazing coffee and dessert. The service was beyond expectational as the owner was very attentive with great hospitality to make sure the guests feel welcomed as the guests entered the shop. The decors and pride of this place is connected back to Turkey. I could imagine myself being transported to Turkey for a few hours and watching the documentary on the tv about Turkish coffee and Turkey culture. Very educational moment for me as I don't know much about Turkey. Tried the following items: Silky mardin (mixed coffee flavors) - don't mix it up as there's coffee ground on the bottom as it is similar to tradition Turkish coffee drink. Pretty strong and flavorful for a small sized cup. Pretty satisfying as it is unique apart from other coffee shops which I very much enjoyed the experience! Twisted pistachio baklava was so delicious, almost crunchy but not as soft like a cake. Each bite was perfect amount of sweet, not overly sweet. Definitely want to come back and try other kind of baklavas as I'd like to think it's close to what people enjoy the desserts in Turkey. Lamb Turkish dumplings - very scrumptious as each dumpling is tiny bite sizes, smothered with some kind of light tomato sauce and sour cream alike. Inside the tiny dumplings were filled with juicy lamb and good spices combined in a bowl! I'd definitely come back for this!

A fun cafe with a unique ambiance and friendly workers. They have a wide variety of coffee drink flavors, along with yummy baklava and other treats. Great if you want to try something different from your usual coffee spot!

I stopped for some baklava and I was not disappointed. They were melting in my mouth, crunchy, light n fluffy n soaking in syrupy honey. I tried walnut and pistachio small pieces and a giant slice of pistachio one. Bite size are perfect. I almost didn't share with kids. They were that good. So good that I forgot to take a photo before they were all gone.

Stopped by Turkish Coffee Lady on a Friday morning while staying in Alexandria, and I'm so glad I did. The vibe was super cozy and beautifully decorated -- the kind of place you instantly feel comfortable in. The lady behind the counter was incredibly helpful and took her time explaining the menu, which I really appreciated since there are so many options to choose from. I ended up getting the minty Cappadocia coffee and a Turkish bagel with cheese and tomato. The coffee was amazing -- super fresh, with the mint flavor coming through without being overpowering at all. It was sweetened perfectly and even came with two colorful, sugar-cube-looking Turkish delights, which was such a nice touch. The bagel was crunchy, visually appealing, and absolutely delicious. Everything I tried was fantastic, and I would 100% visit more often if I lived nearby. Highly recommend stopping in if you're in the area!

We really enjoyed the coffee here. It came with a water and I think a Turkish delight candy. My husband thought the candy was a lump of sugar and put it in his coffee which was hilarious. I let him take a bite of mine so he knew what it tasted like. I highly recommend the silky mardin coffee with no sugar and tres leches cake. I got a Turkish bagel with cream cheese also. Seating is very limited and people tend to linger so be prepared for no seating on the weekends. The shop itself is very cozy with Turkish music playing in the background. We got the coffee pretty quickly, I wanted to try the dumplings but she said it takes about 20-30 minutes to make so maybe next time.

Whenever I am in Old Town, I find myself craving kahve and baklava from Turkish Coffee Lady! Located on the corner of King Street and North Patrick Street, this beautiful coffee shop is home to a cozy atmosphere, enticing aromas, and delicious coffee. Expect street parking with a few steps at the entrance. I love sticking to my favorites -- the pistachio zeugma (decaf) coffee, as well as the cold milky chocolate pistachio baklava, which has the perfect deep chocolate flavor and milkiness to taste. And, of course, the presentation is always 10/10. The team is kind and does an excellent job walking you through the multiple coffee options. Service is also relatively quick, considering how busy it can get. Overall, a lovely place I would visit again and again. Don't miss out on this local gem!

If this has also been on your list for a while, I highly encourage you to knock it off your Alexandria bucket list! Upon walking in, I felt as if I was transported to Europe - the decor, the vibes, the wafting smells! Questions at the register were answered with ease and helpful descriptions to help me with my indecisions. My friend and I ordered the Turkish breakfast, which came two beverages of choice (coffee or tea) with water and Turkish delights on the side, a whole basket of bread, and a platter with dried fruit, nuts, tomatoes, cucumbers, jammy soft boiled eggs, salami, honey, olives, and cheeses.Service was very fast and accommodating. My friend got the "mixed blend" coffee, and I got the pistachio decaf. The mixed blend coffee was strong; the pistachio decaf had mild nutty notes. We stayed for about an hour and a half - if you know the concept of the Slow Food movement, that's exactly what you get with the Turkish Breakfast. In this fast paced world, the meal taught me: "Take your time, enjoy the food, take in your environment, and enjoy the presence of your company that came with you." All the foods mixed nicely with each other, and my inner child loved making mini sandwiches out of the bread, spreads, and salami. We got rained in, but thankfully we had nowhere else to be. Again, the theme of slow remained true here. We ordered a Turkish black tea, pastries, and Turkish delights. All the foods were truly a delight, and I can't wait to return to do a Turkish coffee reading. Highly recommend Turkish Coffee Lady to enjoy a peaceful and relaxing brunch.

Saw advertisements that this place was coming to OLX and finally had a chance to stop in and try it out. I normally like coffee but opted for a regular Iced Turkish Tea because there was a language barrier and it felt like I was frustrating the lady by simply asking if the tea came already sweetened or not. She had to verify with the barista in their native language, which is no problem, but the body language definitely read agitation. =( I'm not entirely familiar with turkish drinks but always looking to try different cuisines as much as I can to expand my palette. I would have ordered more but there was another random convo between the lady making the drinks and the one taking my order that made me feel a bit...awkward. I was still trying to complete my order but after they finished their discussion, I just left it at the tea. Bummer because the Baklava looked delicious! Parking is street. Pricing wasnt too bad. My tea was unsweetened and actually pretty good! They have some seating and it looks like a nice spot to chill, especially if you are familiar with the culture. I probably won't return but that's based on my own experience. I say go and have your own experience. It may be drastically different than mine. Maybe it was an off day. Oh well. EDIT: I do appreciate the owner for reaching out so quickly to apologize and offer a way to make up the experience for me. Customer service is everything and I'm open to giving the establishment another try in the future. I wasnt aware that the young lady was in training but now my experience makes a bit more sense. Not excusing her but she could definitely use better training w/being a front facing employee. I'm all for supporting local businesses and look forward to the 2nd impression.

Came back to give this place another try. I ordered a Turkish Coffee. They had a few flavor options and I picked the one most recommended, the "Mardin." I asked for it to be slightly sweetened. It came with some Turkish Delights of different flavors- a citrus one and an amazing rose one. The floral Turkish Delight paired well with the coffee. As usual, the ambiance is homey and inviting with lovely Turkish music playing in background. I'd come if craving Turkish Coffee, but not that iced pistachio latte I got in past. Nice, but I do feel this place is overpriced especially for their pastries.

The atmosphere was cozy and delightful. Rich with Turkish decor and welcoming service! My friend enjoyed her coffee and cake! I had a simple black tea and it was accompanied with sugar cubes and Turkish delight. I enjoyed my visit. This is a great place to lounge and chat as you drink coffee/tea with an abundance of deserts to choose from. look forward to my next visit!

Wonderful experience. This is my second time visiting and both have been great with service, flavors, and overall experience. A coffee placing giving away free coffee? Yup. Thanks to Internatioal Coffee Day, Turkish Coffee Lady was doing just that with another purchase. I had the pistachio, chocolate, caramel option. It also comes with Turkish Delight. Overall, it is a beautiful presentation. I had the Turkish borek. I love the different regional options for this. I'm more familiar with it in the Balkans as burek. This meat borek was flavorful, crispy dough outside, and nice meaty inside. I really enjoyed it. Free tea too! What wonderful hospitality. Typical rea in the class cup. Enjoyable. The decor is really pretty. Lots of nice Turkish decorations. Easy 5*. Give them a try!

Love this place! Natural sunlight, fun and bright colors - lots of seating for one or two or small groups. Tons of options for coffee and tea. And the pastry/tea/delicious treats are always a gem!

Not to mention, it felt so fairly-priced compared to most places in Old Town! We spent about $50 between the two of us, which included a 20% tip on our bill. Hard to beat in this area honestly, especially given the quality of the food and service. I look forward to coming back and am so glad to finally have an answer to "where do you recommend going for brunch in Old Town?" -- a question that I've historically struggled with when people asked!

The staff was friendly, and the menu had several items that sounded interesting. Unfortunately, the experience didn't quite live up to the setting. I ordered the biscuits and gravy, which came with eggs and breakfast potatoes. The meal itself was good, and I liked that the eggs were included since that's not always the case with biscuits and gravy. I also ordered a Bloody Mary that was advertised on the menu as being garnished with bacon, celery and a pickle spear. When it arrived, there was no bacon, celery or pickle spear, and I was told they were out. Not a huge deal, but it would have been nice to know before ordering. The biggest issue was service timing. There were four of us dining together, and three meals arrived while the fourth entrée didn't show up for about ten more minutes. Since nobody wanted to eat while one person sat without food, our meals cooled off while we waited. Ironically, the delayed meal was a BLT--which did have bacon on it and even a pickle spear.... I finished my first Bloody Mary and ordered a second. After waiting 15-20 minutes with no drink arriving, our check was brought to the table and I ended up canceling it. My wife's meal was the biggest disappointment. It was served with corn chips that were extremely stale, which really hurt the overall dish. HomeGrown has a lot of potential. The atmosphere is great, the staff was pleasant, and parts of the meal were enjoyable. However, between the service delays, missing menu items, stale chips, and drink issues, there is definitely room for improvement.
