Popped in here on our way home from our non-existent Tahoe trip and the bagels were pretty good. I ordered the jalapeño bagel w/jalapeno cream cheese and it was so flavorful. Food is great, I enjoyed my lunch! I ordered the Turkey Pesto Melt which was delicious! The bagel was super soft and fresh and all the fresh ingredients made my melt feel refreshing and light. The best part is the toppings were not skimped on at all and didn't get drowned out by a heavy bagel. The service was super fast and nice, and it was completely empty during lunch time which surprised me. Definitely added to the list for a quick lunch! Unfortunately, the cashier seemed uncertain about the order, asking multiple questions despite my straightforward request. When I asked to review the order, she appeared unfamiliar with the process, struggling to even print the receipt for me to review. If she is in training , I would suggest to have someone next to her until she feels comfortable. They have both inside and out side sitting area . Inside was so cold . I had to wait for 20 minutes for the sandwich be ready even thought the place was not crowded at all. The called my name as Marvin . How did I knew it is mine , because noOne claimed it . I asked is it the full English ? T they said yes . The breakfast itself was ok but given that I was just passing through the city on my way to San Francisco, I won't have the opportunity to return. The food is good, but every employee in this business looks angry! No expression, very short. Won't make eye contact when taking your order. And then when it comes time to pay, they emphasize that there are questions on the point of sale machine referring to the tip. If you're in a customer service business and you work for tips the first thing you do is be nice to your customers. I will never tip unless someone shows me a smile of can be nice. I have visited on several occasions and like their bagels, but the service is sketchy. On one occasion, when my bagel sandwich was ready, the person behind the counter slid/threw it across the counter top at me, but it missed and ended up on the floor. Also, the time you visit will directly impact your wait time and the level of service you get. I realize that wait time in most shops that offer made to order food is slower, but the service should be consistent no matter what. By far the best bagel place I've had EVER. This is a local favorite in placerville that we decided to stop by on our way up to the mountains. I will start with the positive. The bagel was tasty and exactly what I ordered, well almost. Outside of that - service was abysmal. I ordered a bagel, sesame the works. I was told they would bring it out to me. 15 minutes later, no body came. So, i walked inside and was told they were slammed and it would be another 10 minutes. There were 6 employees, only two of which were working to make bagels. Then they ran out of the sesame bagel and had to substitute. It happens, but just another example of poor service . 15 minutes later i got my bagel. Had i known it was going to be a 30 minute wait for a bagel I would have gone somewhere else . So what was frustrating was the lack of respect for my time, and the other employees not working while they were slammed. One just sat there texting his friends while they were "slammed" which just communicated to me we could care less about you. I mean I appreciate the movie cult classic clerks as much as the next guy, i just didn't want to be served by jay. Silent Bob I wouldn't have minded.
