Everything bagel with garlic and herb cream cheese
Tara C.

I've been wanting to come here for a while, but it always seems like I have a craving for a good bagel on Sunday morning and they are closed Sundays. I finally made it and was not disappointed. I had an everything bagel with garlic and herb cream cheese and look forward to going back! Great bagels!

#6 Breakfast
Mel M.

My wife and I are not always out for breakfast except for breakfast following Sunday service so we haven't had the chance to try this place out. Well, on a Tuesday morning following a visit to the VA, we made our way to Bagelicious. The sign for this place isn't too obvious, which explains why we can't remember seeing it before despite walking by it after we processed an Amazon return at Staples nearby. In any case, the place is tight, with booths and tables cozily arranged to maximize space. We walked by a stand with "day old" bagels (six for $3...we tried em this morning and they were good) before making our way to the counter. We both placed our order for #6 breakfast (2 eggs scrambled with cheese, home fries, bacon or sausage with toast or bagel). I had bacon and a garlic bagel with cream cheese for me and my wife had bacon and a marble rye bagel with butter. We both had large self serve coffees to accompany our meals. Service was efficient and we had our breakfast served in no time. The eggs were like an omelet with that melted cheese in it. The bacon pieces were thick and crispy and the home fries were tasty even if a bit on the greasy side. The bagels were nice and fresh with that requisite chew...and the smear was quite generous. We also liked that they served Lavazza coffee...at least we assumed it was Lavazza since the coffee dispenser had the Lavazza logo on it. A very good breakfast...we'll definitely be back. Breakfast for 2 with the $3 day old bagels came out to just under $31 less tip.

"Bagelicious Deli & Bakery" I've been to Bagelicious numerous times and each time I'm there I always want to express that the service is wonderful and even though this is a casual place you will find plenty of good food and comfort with scrumptious bagels "Their Specialty" that taste phenomenal and so close to home "New York" for me so if in the area you should definitely stop by! They have many kinds and when you order a dozen you know it's a "baker's dozen". The sandwiches are delicious, they do not skimp, and you must try the home made cream cheese they have so many flavors and every one is just amazing! If you go for breakfast or lunch you will be satisfied, they make their food fresh and homemade. I've had sandwiches and the very homemade best soups, omelettes, wraps, the Texas burger, my favorite the chicken psycho salad! Oh and my friend who is vegetarian loves the black bean quinoa patty, the grilled Rueben is pretty fantastic, what can I say Bagelicious will fill your cravings and the prices are great. Don't forget dessert if you want there is always something from cheese pastry, cookies, muffins and more! If you want you can sit outside on a nice day, everyone is so nice you will want to come everyday! When I'm here I feel like I'm home back in Staten Island when I'm really not but it's just this way here at the fabulous Bagelicious of Ocala ! Bagelicious is open Monday -Friday 6:30 AM- 2:30 PM Closed Saturdays & Sundays Phone : ( 352 ) 237- 6511 Location: Shady Oaks Shopping Center 2459 SW 27th Ave, Ocala, Florida 34471

I will start this review by stating I am a NYC transplant. I was recommended this place by residents in Ocala that thought these bagels would be close to NY bagels. Even though we have lived in Ocala for years, it took forever to get here because their business hours suck. We work from home so that makes it difficult to get here before we start work in the morning. I had a dr appointment nearby so I took advantage. Unfortunately, it was also noon when I made my way here so it was super busy. As I walked inside, I was overwhelmed due to the place being packed with people. There were tables and every single one had people sitting there and eating. I made my way to the counter, towards the back to order to go. I planned to just get a bagel each for hubs and I since it was my first time. I thought the prices were pretty high so I just opted for the bagels alone and was going to put my own shmear on them at home. There was a line of people but the line moved quick. I ordered an everything bagel, sesame bagel, and cinnamon raisin bagel to go. I seem to recall getting a muffin as well but if I did, it was not memorable. The staff were husting and although they were not out of the ordinary friendly, they were not rude or short either. I paid with my card so it was more expensive. It was like $10! I was hoping the bagels would be worth it but they were not in my opinion. I assume the bagels are made fresh daily but they did not have the texture or taste they were made that day. I may give them another try if I am in the area and possibly earlier in hopes of trying fresher items. Oh and bring cash to save some pennies!

Pastrami & Swiss egg L&T with a side of potato salad

Always the best place to swing in and grab a hot sandwich and some potato salad, service is always on point, plus the bagels are made fresh daily! Always try to stop when I'm in this area!

Breakfast sandwich combo

Amazing food and service :) I come here frequently and bring my friends and family as well.

Chicken Caesar wrap, pasta fagioli, sugar cookie

Absolutely love local restaurants and this place has an incredible small-town vibe that's difficult to find. Bacon, egg, and cheese on a poppy seed bagel was perfect with the only exception being that the eggs were incredibly bland to the point where I don't think it had any seasonings whatsoever. May have to clarify to add at least salt and pepper in the future or just add it yourself to taste. The bagel was one of the best I've had in a long time and I'll go back just for that. Chicken Caesar salad wrap was incredibly disappointing. The dressing was weirdly sour and they included extremely hard croutons in the wrap which made the entire thing very crunchy (croutons are not noted to be in there on the menu, otherwise I would've just asked to not have them). Chicken was fine although it tasted more like precooked chicken than anything else. Pasta fagioli was very good. Wonderfully seasoned and has a good amount of beef and vegetables. Sugar cookie was also fantastic. Definitely homemade in the best way possible, and I will get this again.

After seeing how far it was from me, I didn't think I'd ever get the chance to sample . However, I found myself in a situation where I felt I could make the 30 minute (each way) drive. I was a little disappointed as I pulled into the parking lot got as, the building isn't exactly easy on the eye. But, I didn't let that sway me. Got there at about 12:15pm on a Thursday and saw lots of activity coming and going. There would about 3 or 4 people in front of me and I waited. As I waited, I watched. There didn't seem to be an efficient work flow in the kitchen. A lot of running back and forth instead of having things "right there". This translated into long service times. Got down to just one person in front of me and things stalled even more as there was much talking about this and that. The line behind me grew to about 10 people. If it wasn't so hot outside I believe the line would have gone out the door. I'll admit that I just about gave up as it probably was close to 15 minutes before taking my order. But, I stayed put. Angelo took my order of an Italian Combo and asked if I wanted it "All The Way". Always. However, I understand that "All The Way" means different things to different people but, I'm good to experience it, "however Christina's of Bellevue " sees it. Angelo was quick to clarify, however, that, "All The Way" meant having mayonnaise on the sandwich and, seeing me with my New York Mets hat on, wanted to be sure that's what I wanted or to just have "sub sauce" on it. Any respecting Italian Combo eater knows that putting mayo on this type of sandwich is an absolute travesty, and Angelo picked up on that he was dealing with an expert. Not exactly sure what "sub sauce" is but, let's go with it. Wasn't as long of a wait in the construction of the sandwich as I thought and I paid my cash (only btw) and was out the door for the 30 minute treck to west Ocala. I was happy at the butcher paper and masking tape wrap. I don't know why this matters, it just does! I unwrapped the sandwich and was pleased to see some soggyness. I realize that some people don't appreciate this type of thing but, I usually order by Italian combos with extra vinegar just for the soggyness. A little disappointed in the bread at first glance as it did not contain sesame seeds and was a little soft, soggyness not withstanding. Bread being the number factor in a good sandwich and, clearly the area is challenged in that respect. I dove in. The overall taste was very good. I would suggest to explain that the sandwich contains sweet banana pepper rings. I like that but, would be informative for the buyer to know that the sandwich is coming this way and perhaps give them the choice of hot or sweet pepper rings, or none at all. There was a sweet undertone to the sandwich beyond the sweet pepper rings and, I'm not sure if this was from the "sub sauce". I would make this my main criticism on the overall taste of the Italian combo. Make a "dressing" of extra virgin olive oil, red wine vinegar, salt/pepper/oregano/basil.....maybe a squirt of lemon juice, and that's what should be the "sub sauce". It did have a "store bought" quality to it. Nonetheless, I devoured both halves extremely quickly. Fair price at $11. Give it a try but, bring your patience and cash. Yes, I concur, best I've had in the area!!!!
