Really enjoyed coming here but I had several bad experiences so I refuse to go there now. Staff is not great, they can be rude and snappy. Only one guy is very nice but he's not always there. Food is decent but not consistent. I like their bacon egg and cheese with a Hashbrown but sometimes they throw it together like you're trash. I've also come many times and ordered ahead and they're never ready which causes me to wait and risk being late for work. There was also a discrepancy on what the price of the sandwich was and the staff was not very helpful or clear with why there was an issue and how to solve the problem so everyone felt supported. There website also does not work very well, I used to be able to order online but then their system was disabled. I think the big kicker for me was the last time I went there, the nice man apologized for the all the recent mess ups and gave me my food for free. Sadly I did not discover until about 20mins later when I opened it that he had actually given me the wrong food or the staff had messed up my order. I ordered a bacon egg and cheese with a hash brown and I ended up getting a something sloppy and a super mushy Hashbrown and ketchup on a bagel. When I first saw that they were opening a bagel spot in Downtown White Plains, I was super excited. While the city is seen as the go to for bars, restaurants, and an overall city lifestyle in Westchester County, there are some essential spots I feel are missing - one of them being a solid bagel/breakfast/lunch spot. I noticed that Bagel & Deli Express recently opened, and since I had this morning open I decided to stop in to check it out. Bagel & Deli Express is located on Westchester Ave, right across from The Westchester Mall next to a few other businesses. It's not in the thick of Downtown White Plains, but it's really close to a number of apartment buildings which I think is perfect since it's within walkable distance to many (they do have a parking area in the back, however, if you are driving). Walking in, the space was really open - there's a small bar of stool seating towards the front which looks out the street, plus a few tables along one of the walls. The color scheme is mostly earthy with darkish woods, and they have some really interesting pressed tin ceilings (which I assume was left over from the prior business, but you never know =). The production area and ordering counter take up a good portion of the space - they have the option to order ahead/online but I came on a whim so I made my way to the counter to place my order. While the menu has a number of breakfast and lunch items, I had to try one of their bagels (I decided on an onion). They have a variety of cream cheese flavors to choose from, vegetable or chive usually goes well with onion so I chose the former. I need to return though because they have a lot of sweeter flavors that I'm curious about. Anyway, I opted to get the bagel toasted and also ordered an iced coffee. The bagel was good, I'm partial to my bagel spot in the Bronx which I feel are the finest bagels out there, but these are definitely close to the top. They also were generous (but not overbearing) with the cream cheese which was great. The iced coffee was really good - it was self-service and they have a number of flavors to choose from. Service was friendly and also super fast. Overall, I had a great first experience at Bagel & Deli Express. I like the whole vibe of this place, and wish them the best of luck in their new business. I will definitely be back to explore more of their offerings. read more

A very good bagel shop in white plains that has more then just bagels and the coffee and cappuccino are on the money . Stopped by Saturday morning with my buddy to grab a dozen assorted bagels and a large cup of cream cheese and while scanning the extensive menu I said to myself , what's the rush I can order a smoothie , hot cappuccino, plain bagel with scramble eggs and grab a seat . Bagels are hot and fresh as they were still warm when I got to work . Was worth the visit and with many different types of bagels , spreads , hot and cold beverages , food choices , I will be back soon for more bagels . P.S. Slim pickings in this area, went for bagels and dairy-free cream cheese. No lettuce, no cukes, charged me for tomatoes but didn't include them. Asked them to toast four of 6 , but they toasted only two. if I hadn't reminded them, I wouldn't of gotten my cream cheese in the bag either. We had a pretty mediocre experience here, unfortunately. The pros are, basically, that the lox sandwich is fairly big, and when I ordered online, I asked them to substitute the plain cream cheese for a different type - and they did do this, which is nice of them, since they didn't have a way to check it off. (I had to request it in the notes.) Unfortunately, there are a few cons to the experience. One, they gave me a random type of bagel, rather than the one I ordered, and didn't tell me or ask me about this, even though I was standing in the store while they made it. This is really just puzzling to me. Maybe they didn't see that I didn't want a plain bagel? Two, there were no napkins or things available in the store area, and so you had to ask a staff member, but they were also slow to acknowledge you even if you're standing there IMO clearly looking to ask a question. Three, the sink in the bathroom doesn't work, so you can't wash your hands, and the Purell-ish dispenser thing was empty .... seems to imply pretty gross hygiene, at minimum for customers, maybe for the staff too? This shop is in an area without many bagel options, so it may still be the best you've got - but unfortunately it does leave a good deal to be desired. read more

As a true New Yorker, I'm of a mind that no place does bagels like the city. I was wrong. I stopped in here to pick up an egg salad everything bagel for my husband whom is being underfed at Burke Rehab nearby! don't get me wrong, Burke is beautiful and the pt is first class but it's obviously the nutritionist thinks she's feeding toddlers. my husbands dinner the other night was a single slice of turkey, which I fed to my 10 lb papillon. she wolfed it down, and looked for more. nope that's it, plus no salt or pepper or taste...anyway... back to Bagels and Deli. i bought one for myself on a plain bagel (I'm a purist) and boy was I amazed! the salad tasted like my homemade. So sad I have to give this place 2 stars. Service is 5 stars, cleanliness is also 5 stars. However l, I went at 8:30 am They were almost already all out of bagels. Very limited on selection as well. Rarely ever do I not finish my bagel but this was stale tasting and didn't have that classic bagel taste. It checked every box that a bacon egg and cheese should hit which kept me delighted. I have gone to this establishment many times. The staff and bagels have been wonderful. However, yesterday I went there to buy few bagels and the woman who "helped me" was rude and inept. She actually put a toasted bagel in with my order. Rather than writing a bad review because of her, I decided to call and speak to either the manager or owner. Rigo, one of the owners spoke with me and he couldn't have been more kind. He was more upset than I was and offered to do whatever he could to make things right. All I wanted was to be heard, and hopefully to get that woman fired. His reaction was more than enough for me. He insisted on having his driver deliver a dozen bagels and cream cheese to me, even though he knows I live twenty minutes away. He now has a loyal customer! read more

So my wife and I ordered from this place for the first time just now. We utilized Uber Eats. This place has a lot of flavored coffees so we wanted to try it but when you go to place the order on UE it says milk is a "required" option which doesn't make sense because what if some is lactose intolerant??! Anyway in order for it to process I HAD to choose a milk so I selected but clearly from the picture on the receipt I put in the note section for both to be black and NO milk. This used to be my go to bagel place. The food recently has been absolutely terrible. I don't know what happened there. Their bagel was literally moldy, the lox cream cheese is sour and the lox in it tastes like sardines. the matcha latte is literally matcha powder mixed into green mountain coffee or something. I've given this establishment and employees the benefit of the doubt multiple times, that perhaps the distasteful attitudes and poor customer service is due to simply having a bad day - but this mornings visit sealed the deal. I've written maybe 2 or 3 interviews and this place deserves one. The bagels alone here are so great and I've lived in white plains for a while and settled on a couple other mid tier places but this is my new go to. If you have the time in the mornings definitely stop by and get a bacon egg and cheese. The service is also top notch, the women in the front is very friendly while my man cooks it up in the back. Plus the atmosphere is just cozy in here and fresh looking. I don't get why there aren't a ton of people here waiting in line to get in but I really do recommend this place and their coffee is pretty damn good. read more

I'm glad a place like this finally came to White Plains. Inside is clean, and staff are great. They know how to take orders correctly and food is very good. (Note I have only had their breakfast and bagels). Coffee selection is 100% on point, with many flavors and every additive you could ask for (almond milk, half and half, creamers, stevia etc.). I for one take stevia in my coffee and it is sometimes hard to find at locations. Give them a shot, you will not be disappointed. My only complaint is location, which makes parking difficult at times... Looking forward to trying them for lunch soon. read more

They had a very wide variety of food and drinks to chose from, all of my guests were very satisfied with the taste and the quality of all the food. They have the most fresh bagels and coffee that we ever had ,and since we ordered both breakfast and lunch catering ,we had the chance to try out all their menu ,the lunch menu is just as good as the breakfast menu . As much as I want to like this place and as much as White Plains needs a bagel shop, this place is not worth a second visit. Bagels had the texture of the ones you might buy in a grocery store not a real bagel shop. Spongy. Veggie cream cheese was runny. Salmon looked like it had been sliced days ago and only one kind. Location was totally inconvenient and totally not worth going out my way for. I'd relocate if I was the owner and try and emulate a more traditional NY bagel experience. read more
