This was my first time going to this location for bagels with my boyfriend. The food is actually really good! They have such unique items, including a black-and-white muffin instead of a cookie. The bagels tasted really good and we had two different types of cream cheese and both were absolutely amazing. The only thing about this place that we personally did not like was the service. My boyfriend wanted to buy chips and the servers just stood there. The place to sit and eat is nice and the coffee bar they have is cute. I grew up in this area so have been here many times over many years. Bagels were never really a novel thing to me until I moved out of NY. You know what they say, you don't know what you got 'till it's gone. I moved back here but now that I'm older and had the age-related metabolism decline, bagels aren't a stable in my diet. I was at a dr's appointment down the street when GF reported her hunger to me and lack of food options at home so I figured it would be a good time to treat ourselves to an afternoon bagel snack. I made it in about 45 min before closing time. Someone was just wrapping up paying for their order when I got in line behind them. After they finished up and left, I stood there for a few more minutes while the cashier was trying to figure something out on the cash register screen but didn't acknowledge me. It was awkward. I continued to stand there for a while until she looked up at me and I just ordered what I wanted, an everything bagel with veggie cream cheese. At that point, someone else came in who was picking up an order. She asked me to step aside to check this woman out. After checking her out, the other employee confirmed my order and took care of it. This other employee was very nice and friendly but overall, the service left something to be desired. It was nothing egregious by any means, but could have been better. The bagel was pretty good. The veggie cream cheese had large chunks of scallions and had a crunchiness that I didn't enjoy but got the job done. The bagels, while running the usual gamut, look a bit different in a good way. For example, the multi-grain bagel one usually sees actually includes seeds and grains! The oat bran bagel is indeed a rare bird. My sandwich was prepared exactly as asked for - dough out, toasted, single egg, ham and pepper. The bagel was absolutely delicious! I'm shocked to see so many poor reviews! I hope my review brings up that 3-star average a bit, Mt. Kisco bagel deserves it! I will refute earlier claims and say these bagels are fairly priced (IMO). For such a thick bagel, I'd say the dough sells for the right amount of dough (heh). You get a breakfast sandwich here for somewhere around $5/$6 -- seems consistent with like a Starbucks sandwich or something, and those are nowhere near as hearty or tasty. I got a sausage, egg, cheese, and hashbrown on a plain bagel and it was otherworldly. The bagels definitely have a nice crisp on the outside and a dreamy soft-inside that this out-of-State-er had not experienced before. I have no complaints about the service, although I did come well past rush hour so I saw them without any pressure applied. Some nice lady did lead me to the bathroom which was appreciated. I always get the everything bagel but I'm tempted to try all of the others. We got two bagels with garlic & herb cream cheese and bacon and two large iced coffees for $23 which I think is pretty standard these days. Overall the bagels were really good, just some service issues. My husband ordered a BEC and received an everything with plain cream cheese. Which would have been OK bc he likes everything & plain cream cheese but we didn't realize until we got home & a BEC is obviously more expensive so that is just annoying knowing we overpaid for something we didn't order in the first place. Slow, skimpy, dirty. I felt like I spent way too long in this place to get a breakfast sandwich. To say the service is slow is an understatement. There are also a decent amount of flies buzzing around, living in the cookie case. Pretty disgusting and unappetizing. When I finally got my sandwich, I was sad to see only 1 egg on it. It might be the skimpiest breakfast sandwich I've been served. The bagel was alright, which is why my true rating is a 1.5 instead of 1. Bagels are good....staff is slow and inconsistent. Two of the long-time employee ladies there are constantly bickering with each other. Depending on who you get, will determine if you get a decent breakfast sandwich or a ridiculously skimpy one. Same with the sandwiches and wraps. Today we got an egg "stain" on a roll with 1 piece of bacon on it....1 tiny egg, no cheese - even though we ordered a BEC on a roll. The roll was rubbery. It is unbelievable how inconsistent they are. They will often ignore you for several minutes when you arrive - even if no other customers are in there. They are very slow. The owner is a nice man - probably stuck with bad staff who are there too long and it shows. Try A&S Marketplace down the block for breakfast sandwiches, wedges, etc. For the same price you get nearly double the size - essentially 2 meals in one. . Seriously the best bagels outside of the city. Lived in Astoria for 7 years and was never hard-pressed to find a solid whole wheat everything bagel. I've tried a few places in Mount Kisco, and the only one that holds up against my standards is Mount Kisco Bagel. Bonus points for the fact that they don't mock me for my order (whole wheat everything bagel, toasted and scooped out, with egg whites and pepper jack). After a short, GPS-lead drive, we found the place, parked right in front, and proceeded to waltz right in, with the attention of getting two orders of a half a dozen bagels along with cookies for the road trip back. Excellent bagels, I'd say the best you'll find in the area. As a manhattanite, I am picky about my bagels. I live near one if the best bagel shops in the city... When I visit family, this is their go to bagel shop and they really make a darn decent bagel. Crispy on the outside and nice and chewy and doughy on the inside (perhaps a bit too doughy but I remedy that by scooping them ;-)).. The dough itself is flavorful. I really like these bagels. In fact I drive 4+ miles to Mt. Kisko when there is a bagel place just over a mile away in Katonah.. Awesome wholewheat everything bagel, great selection of yummy spreads (cream cheeses, whitefish, lox) and salads. The vegetable tuna and chicken salad are fantastic.. also a fan of the shrimp salad. Service is ok, the place is very busy and they get the job done. Closest to a city bagel I've had in the area. ;-) Good eats. read more

The past two times i bought bagels at MKB, they were under baked. Quality is usually pretty good. One bone to pick. They sold me Nova that they said was hand sliced, and it wasn't. Good bagels, efficient service. However the "hand sliced" nova i bought last week ($46.00 a lb) was NOT hand sliced. Each piece was a perfect rectangle with 90 degree edges-- exactly the same size and thickness as the other, which leads me to believe that not only was it not even sliced on a slicer (bad enough) but even taken out of a pre pack.
