    Cinnamon raisin with cream cheese

I am in my bagel era! This is what I crave almost every single day for breakfast. In Gainesville I found Luke's & Humble Wood Fire but on this day I woke up late and wasn't too hungry so the only place opened and walking distance from my daughter's apartment was this bagel shop. I ordered two Asiago bagels with sun-dried tomato pesto spread and my obsession- cinnamon raisin bagel with cream cheese spread. I usually get it with strawberry spread but they didn't have any. The price for each bagel was very reasonable. I only hoped they would taste decent. Well they did. I was pleasantly surprised. My daughter especially loved the spread on her Asiago bagel. Now I can't wait to try some of the other items on their menu. Aside from breakfast stuff, I hear they serve up some pretty tasty pad thai and noodle soup. Must give them a try next time I'm in town!

This strange combination of breakfast food and Thai food actually works and is exactly the type of place you would expect to find on a college campus. The perfect place to roll in hungover from the night before. I came for lunch on a weekday and most of the clientele dining in looked like UF students fresh from class. I decided to lean more towards the noodle side of Bagels & Noodles and went with the chicken pad thai. It was a decent size portion (though I didn't have any leftover to take home) and tasted like your typical pad thai. The presentation (see the photo) didn't look the greatest but it's about taste not photography. They have two large seating areas so they can accommodate a lot of people if you needed them to host a business lunch and they're easily walkable from downtown Gainesville.

Only in Gainesville could you get bacon, eggs and chicken pho served at the same time. Bagels and Noodles has it down. On University walking distance from UF, this is one of my breakfast must stops. Plenty of free parking behind the restaurant if you drive. This family run spot not only has good food, it has good, friendly service too. Eggel - fresh toasted bagel with a fried egg and your choice of bacon, sausage or ham. Chicken Pho - delicious broth with perfectly cooked noodles, and plenty of chicken. Food never disappoints, large portions for hungry college students, and inexpensive. It's an unusual combination, but it works!!

The pho was above average and the noodles had a great texture. However the inside of the store was super warm despite it being hot outside. The waitress was great.

A tiny cute spot near UF campus. The food was good and we were definitely satisfied with the portion. However, I wish they could list potential allergens (nuts, sesame, ect.) on the menu. My friend had to have them remake his food after he realized there's peanut in the dish.

Stopped here for breakfast while visiting my brother at UF! There were a ton of options, from American traditional to Vietnamese to Thai, so there will definitely be something for everybody! I got the eggel bagel with Asiago bagel, Asiago cheese and corned beef hash (also comes with 2 eggs on it) for about $8. It was DELICIOUS! The only reason for 4 stars is that service did take quit a while to even bring us water. However, I will definitely be back here the next time I visit, I can't wait to try the spring tools and pad Thai! Pro tip: there is both street parking and a lot behind the restaurant available!

Food sucks , the service sucks but I can accept that . But what I cannot accept is that I forgot is the attitude of the manager. Forgot my Stanley just as the were closing , I called next day and she told me that the server took it home as they did not think that I would be back for it. And later after couple of texts back and forth , attached is what I received.

Got the pork fried rice and it was alright. Not a lot of flavor but still decent. Atmosphere was kind of dirty and my table was not wiped off before sitting. I think the thing that really pushed it down was that they don't have their prices correct on their menu. The fried rice was listed as $12 on their menu but I was charged 12.42 which is something to look out for.

    29. Wonton Noodle Soup
    Bernard X.

    29. Wonton Noodle Soup I have never been to a fusion restaurant like this, with such a large variety of selections on the menu encompassing both Asian noodle soups and American breakfast. Props to this hole-in-the wall for being so flexible. The soup was decent, but a bit bland. Good texture on the noodles, nothing that a sriracha and hoisin combination can't fix! I will definitely come back out of curiosity.

This is a really nice inexpensive breakfast place, with very kind and easygoing employees, Amazing fresh bagels, and really pretty butterfly decorations!!

Needless to say this the Metro diner truly surpassed my expectations. We walked in and were greeted immediately and asked if we would like to sit outside which is a covered area or indoors. We chose inside given it being a hot humid day and wanting that extra comfort. The vibe felt amazing with all the smiles and yes even though busy all the wait staff was hopping doing their business! We were seated and told about the specials and given the menu. I was unsure what I wanted because I think I could have eaten a little bit of everything! I did ask the waitress a couple of suggestions and one of them was the pancakes I had chosen. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner all day! How cool is that and rare. They had a chicken and waffle special that was actually half a chicken ( pieces ) fried with Belgium waffles, powdered sugar and sweet strawberry butter served with their signature sweet and spicy sauce. I'll be honest when I had seen someone else get their plate I was surprised. It looked absolutely incredible and well tremendous. On their specials they had banana pudding pancakes or waffles, this also sounded amazing. It had walnuts, butter and powdered sugar and definitely banana. I am most certainly glad that I chose this as it was incredibly. Super fluffy, flavorful and the banana was not overwhelming there was a perfect balance of flavors. There was a sauce on them that I assume was the banana pudding. It was light and just enough to not overpower the pancake itself. We had also ordered croissant French toast and my son absolutely loved them. They were crispy on the outside yet fluffy and flavorful with a fantastic texture topped with some powdered sugar. Some ordered hash browns, these were also delicious and homemade with a great texture and the portion like all the other dishes pretty large. We had all tried the biscuits and gravy. These too were delicious with such a nice balance of flavors. The biscuits indeed homemade. We were all very pleased with everything. Some eggs over easy and bacon cooked perfectly. The coffee honestly the best I've had in years. I'm a coffee drinker and I cannot figure this coffee was outstanding! I had four cups and wish for more ha ha. Best of all I must compliment the service. I have not been to a restaurant of any sort with such attentive service, quality service as we received here in years. The waitress kept refilling my coffee and water, brought my son more soda ( even a container to take his home ) asked everyone if they needed anything at appropriate times and was extremely kind and considerate. I will be back and I highly recommend the Metro Diner for a great meal, quality service and relaxed environment that you will enjoy. I went to the Luke's Bagels location under the Standard this past week and was disappointed. I hadn't been here in a little bit, especially since Bagels & Co. just opened down the street. But I was craving a Luke's Bagels, so I got there around 8:30, when they opened ready to order. Unfortunately, no one was at the counter when I came in. Someone popped out from the back to take my order a little while's later though. Their bagel selection was extremely limited, more so than usual. They didn't have poppy seed or sesame seed bagels. This was surprising, as I thought this location was sent fresh bagels each morning, I guess not. Luckily, I was able to order a bacon, egg, and cheese on a toasted Asiago, along with a toasted plain bagel with strawberry cream cheese. This took roughly 15 minutes to come out, which was longer than I expected. Upon delving into my bagels, I noticed a couple things that were different from my previous visits last semester. The bagels were definitely smaller, had less cream cheese, and didn't taste as fresh. The BEC had ample amounts of American cheese and the eggs were good, but there was barely any bacon! There was MAYBE two meager pieces on the bagel, I didn't even get bacon in most of my bites. The Asiago bagel still had a decent taste, with a nice sharp Asiago. But it just wasn't very fresh tasting like they've been in the past. The texture wasn't awful, but it wasn't what it used to be. The plain bagel with cream cheese was lackluster. The plain bagel was just fine, as it too was not very fresh. The strawberry cream cheese was decent and not too sweet, which I appreciate. I also like that their cream cheeses have more of whipped texture to them. But there certainly wasn't as much cream cheese on this bagel as I've received in the past! Overall, I was not very pleased with my experience here. The bagels were not fresh at all, the sandwich was lacking bacon, and I just thought the quality appeared be lower. Maybe I came on an off day, but the bagels were not fresh and the assortment they had available was very limited. The texture of the bagels still has a softer center, with a chewy outside , but the outside was too chewy and hard. The size and portions were decreased as well. The BEC had too much cheap, American cheese, and lacked bacon. The plain bagel with cream cheese didn't have much smear on it. For being about $19 for two bagels, not worth it. This makes me sad as I used to love Luke's, but this was not a good visit. I hope next time I come here it is better!
