I came here with one of my friends on a Friday evening and we really enjoyed it! This is a really good asian spot located in midtown. There is plenty of seating and the staff is very friendly. Since it is located in Midtown, parking could be tricky. It wasn't super busy when we arrived, but it seems to be a popular spot amongst college students. The menu offers a nice variety of asian dishes and they also serve breakfast/brunch on the daily. The interior appeared sort of "run down", but in the best way possible. It was still inviting and provided for a nice, laid back sort of meal. The food doesn't take too long to come out either and it is made fresh to order. We ended up ordering the steamed dumplings as an appetizer. I also ordered a cup of miso soup. The dish comes with 5 decent size dumplings. They are handmade and packed with filling. I appreciated the flavorful pork and the amount of it in them. My miso soup was pretty standard, nothing too special. But is hit the spot on a chilly evening. For our entrees, my friend ordered the beef udon, while I ordered the Lemongrass chicken. The portions are pretty large and we found it to be quite filling. My friend said this was some of the best udon she'd had. The broth was very flavorful, the beef was tender, and the noodles were cooked to perfection. The only thing she didn't like as much was the fried egg, opposed to the more traditional hard boiled egg. My lemongrass chicken was satisfying as well. It came with a copious amount of chicken, with a really tangy sauce over it. The rice was overcooked, which was disappointing. Overall, Bagels and Noodles is a wonderful asian eatery located in Midtown. Its location is prime for college students and I can see why it is so popular. The service is very good and personable. The "hole in the wall" feel of the restaurant makes the atmosphere! The food is made with lots of love and it was served fresh and hot. The dumplings are amazing and I would recommend. My friend is already dying to come back and explore more of their noodle dishes. I will definitely be returning and look forward to trying more things! read more

The food here is pretty cheap, but you get what you pay for. My bagel sandwich came out with the scrambled egg a little runny, so I sent it back and asked for a new one, which came out much better. The waitress that took it back was a bit rude about it though. The ambiance is alright, just a small quaint place that is more nostalgic than anything. I was in town with my wife and some friends for a sports filled weekend. We drove out on Friday afternoon and left Sunday morning. My wife and I had breakfast here both mornings. I got the #11 Pho without cilantro. I also asked for a side of chili oil. It was excellent. It's the best Pho I've had since we went to Nam last year. My wife got the biscuits and gravy. It's a pretty decent serving for the price. She also got the Spinach and Asiago knish. It was simple but good. Mashed potatoes in a puffy pastry. She also got the Viet coffee. It was really good too. The two guys working were very nice and fast. When I started school it was just a bagel place. While I was in school they added the noodles. Not much has change since the added the noodles. Dumplings were ok but nothing to rave about . They didn't have much flavor and sauce kind of helped to give it some. The bagel we got was dry and if it wasn't for the cream cheese we ordered with it then it would have been even harder to swallow. They toasted the bagel a little too much. I am in my bagel era! This is what I crave almost every single day for breakfast. In Gainesville I found Luke's & Humble Wood Fire but on this day I woke up late and wasn't too hungry so the only place opened and walking distance from my daughter's apartment was this bagel shop. I ordered two Asiago bagels with sun-dried tomato pesto spread and my obsession- cinnamon raisin bagel with cream cheese spread. I usually get it with strawberry spread but they didn't have any. The price for each bagel was very reasonable. I only hoped they would taste decent. Well they did. I was pleasantly surprised. My daughter especially loved the spread on her Asiago bagel. Now I can't wait to try some of the other items on their menu. Aside from breakfast stuff, I hear they serve up some pretty tasty pad thai and noodle soup. This strange combination of breakfast food and Thai food actually works and is exactly the type of place you would expect to find on a college campus. The perfect place to roll in hungover from the night before. I came for lunch on a weekday and most of the clientele dining in looked like UF students fresh from class. I decided to lean more towards the noodle side of Bagels & Noodles and went with the chicken pad thai. It was a decent size portion (though I didn't have any leftover to take home) and tasted like your typical pad thai. The presentation (see the photo) didn't look the greatest but it's about taste not photography. They have two large seating areas so they can accommodate a lot of people if you needed them to host a business lunch and they're easily walkable from downtown Gainesville. read more

Stopped here for breakfast while visiting my brother at UF! There were a ton of options, from American traditional to Vietnamese to Thai, so there will definitely be something for everybody! The only reason for 4 stars is that service did take quit a while to even bring us water. Plenty of free parking behind the restaurant if you drive. This family run spot not only has good food, it has good, friendly service too. Eggel - fresh toasted bagel with a fried egg and your choice of bacon, sausage or ham. Chicken Pho - delicious broth with perfectly cooked noodles, and plenty of chicken. Breakfast food was good. But I'd recommend getting it to go. We got the "Hearty with Meat," which is potatoes (hash browns or cubes), 2 eggs any style, cheese of choice, and a meat (obviously). Oh, and a bagel, which is not listed on their menu. It was brought out without the potatoes, which was actually confusing. They fixed that. The bagel was toasted, but so cool that it couldn't melt the butter. It looks like the building doesn't have central air bc there were a couple of room a/c units that could NOT keep up. It was WARM inside. There were only 2 other tables occupied and the service was not great. There was a man who literally spent the entire time that we were there making two containers of some kind of sweet, iced coffee type of drink. He had lots of down time and did nothing to assist the other employees. But, I mean, I was kind of impressed with his commitment to his craft (and ability to scroll through his phone and ignore the needs of his co-workers). Bagels & Noodles is one of the first restaurants I've visited when I moved to Gainesville. All of my friends recommended this place to me because of their wide selection of foods. They have traditional American breakfast foods like eggs and bagels, but they also have Asian food like pho and fried rice. It's an interesting variety to say the least. My go to dishes are the pho and the pad Thai. The pho is decent, but not the best pho I've had. I'm not sure if it's just me, but there seems to be a strange after taste to the pho broth. There are definitely better pho places in town (like Red Rice Kitchen). The pad Thai is pretty tasty. In my opinion, I prefer the pad Thai here compared to the one from Wa Ha Ha. The location is one of the main reasons why many students come here. It's on University Ave. which is a walkable distance from campus. (Technically I would give the food here 3 stars, but I'm giving the overall review 4 stars because of the location.) The service is very average here. I haven't had a terrible experience, but I also haven't had an amazing experience either. Overall, Bagels & Noodles is in a good location, and I tend to visit when I'm in the area or when I'm craving pho while on UF campus. The food is decent and worth a try if you're in the area. I went with coworkers today for lunch and we were pleasantly surprised! I've never had Vietnamese food before, but I ordered the hot n spicy pork soup. It came in a HUGE bowl, wasn't too spicy (the air conditioning doesn't work so you'll sweat anyway), and very delicious for $10. It comes out piping hot so don't burn your tongue like I did!The food doesn't take too long to come out once you put in the order, but service can be a bit slow. The check is put on your table and you go to the front to pay. $10 minimum for credit cards. We will definitely be back! Take out has always been only a 10 min wait for me when called in ahead of time. Tip: ask for extra broth, it's only a dollar or two extra. One order is easily two meals. Located on an extremely busy street, it is easy to drive past this restaurant or miss the parking lot entrance, which is located in the back. After walking in, you will quickly notice that the restaurant does not have air conditioning, which is painful if you're trying to escape the Florida heat. As a result, you will probably lose your craving for a hot dish, like pho, and will settle for something more cooling. The food is good, but nothing extravagant; they're dishes that you can get elsewhere. The prices are reasonable, but similar to the prices of other restaurants around the area. I like Bagels & Noodles! I've been here a few times and have ordered something different every time. I've had the pad thai, the pho, Vietnamese coffee, and a traditional breakfast. The portions are honestly huge and the food is pretty quality! I liked the pad thai, and the pho tasted very authentic. I've been to a million and one pho places and would honestly come to B&N for a quick and hefty bowl. I also LOVE the Vietnamese coffee--it's a bit pricey for the ice filled cup, but nonetheless, it's a great caffeine kick. The breakfast is also great but I will say that I have pretty high bagel standards and these bagels didn't necessarily make the cut. A bit hard to find parking. That should be expected with this place so close to u.f. campus. The inside is nice and clean. All the servers I associated with were nice and friendly. Never rushing me as the place got busy at approximately 8 a.m. The food I ordered was very well cooked. It was more naturally hand made compares to the picture perfect breakfast you get at nationwide chains. The food was overall presented wonderfully with a more at home feel. The sign on the front door warning of no public restroom might be a bit misleading. Are they trying to say customer only restrooms? I did not ask. They should be more specific though. The water tasted just like regular faucet water and the sweet tea was nice country sweet tea. No military discount offered here. read more
