The vibe is always great here, spacious seating options, and water available right as you walk in. I fell in love with this place in 2017 and haven't forgotten about it since. So you know I have to revisit every time I come. Sadly, This time wasn't as good as my last experience back in 2022. Might be overpriced, but very tasty nonetheless! A variety of bagels and quick service! My only two complains are the prices, and the fact that they don't include the cream cheese w your bagel unless listed in the ingredients below. I feel like that should be a crime!! Oh and last issue, we got 3 soups and one was suppose to be a larger size than the other two. When we got them they were all one size. We tried to address the issue and were told by staff that one was bigger than the rest. So with that I Wasn't going to go back and forth. But was also disappointing, especially bc their soup was very tasty. So of course I wanted the bigger size I had originally ordered. Regardless, great food. I'll take the L. Bagels by the Sea - Review We stopped into Bagels by the Sea while visiting the area and had a mixed experience. Food & Drinks I ordered a cinnamon raisin bagel toasted with a side of cream cheese and an Americano. Unfortunately, the bagel came with the cream cheese already spread on it and was wrapped up in a bag with other hot sandwiches. By the time we opened it, it was a bit of a soupy mess. My Americano tasted decent enough, but it was only lukewarm when it was served. I drank about half before it got too cold to enjoy. My husband ordered the Eggle Bagel with bacon and a white chocolate mocha. He said the bacon was good, but overall the sandwich didn't have much flavor. It was okay, but not something he would order again. The coffee was decent. My grandson had a cinnamon raisin bagel with cream cheese and a hot cocoa. His bagel ended up being a soupy mess as well because the cream cheese had melted after being wrapped up with the hot food. He did say the hot cocoa was delicious though. Atmosphere The atmosphere was cute, eclectic, and overall inviting. It has a fun little seaside café vibe that we enjoyed. Service Service wasn't terrible, but it also wasn't particularly welcoming. Staff weren't rude, but there wasn't much warmth either. One thing that puzzled us was that they toasted the bagel and immediately spread the cream cheese on it before wrapping it up, which made it pretty messy by the time we ate it. We also ordered our food to eat there but were given everything in a to-go bag, which added to the feeling that maybe dine-in wasn't really encouraged. Pricing Prices were about what you'd expect for a seaside town. Overall, it was an okay stop, but with a few small improvements in food prep and service it could be a much better experience. Updating my review in regard to the owners response to my original review, as their response came off condescending. Unless you are baking the bagel from scratch each time, I'm not sure that anything would be changed by you claiming that you don't serve "fast food". I'm not sure what about a bagel sandwich wouldn't be fast food. Also, if you are going to give an estimated time for pickup and blow past it by 20 minutes. It does not really matter if it is fast food or not. What an odd way to respond. Original review: Ordered to-go through door dash. Upon arrival and the time it said it would be ready, it was not ready. It was not very crowded when we arrived around 10am to get our food. We ordered a breakfast bagel sandwich and a turkey bagel sandwich and a side of flavored cream cheese. We waited a very long time before our order was ready. It probably would have been faster to drive there and order and wait. It was pretty spendy for the size of the side of the side of flavored cream cheese. Bagels by the Sea was a good breakfast spot. They've got both street parking and a lot, but if you want a quicker breakfast you can use their drive thru. Service was pretty quick and they were nice -- very busy too! Ordered an iced hazelnut latte with a Brunch Breakfast Bagel on Pretzel bagel, and husband ordered the Lox on the Works. Yum! This place was solid for bagels and drinks. We stopped by two separate times and both times were really good. The first time when we got bagels the employees were helpful in getting our order together. My bagels were fresh tasting. I wish the toast on them was a little darker or crispier but the flavors were all there. My coffee was fantastic! It was half sweet and done perfectly. On my second visit we just got drinks. What a tasty delight on a rainy Monday morning! I had a friend from out of town visiting and we were staying in Seaside and woke up early to collect sand dollars and then got hungry. Bagels By the Sea is right before the main stretch of shops and is in what used to be an old bank (they have the vault and everything!). We got two of their specials - the Italian bagel (served open face with prosciutto, fresh mozz, arugula, and balsamic vinegar), the breakfast special (choice of meat, egg, cheese, avocado), and one of their classic options the brunch bagel. All of the bagels had just the right amount of chew to them while all tasting unique and flavorful! Their coffee and tea selection was also great! Service was fast and the space itself is open and airy while still maintaining that cozy cafe vibe. I would highly recommend for anyone in Seaside! read more

I have mixed reviews about this place! Our hotel was down the street so we took a little walk first thing in the morning here for breakfast. I was super surprised by the selection of bagels! I got an eggle jalapeño cheddar bagel with sausage and my husband got the blueberry streusel. Very good and unique flavors. The jalapeño had a little kick but nothing too crazy, I loved it. Top marks for the food and the service. Absolutely love this place, super delicious... However, Please, for the love of God, do something with your music. I've been in here three times, and every time there is a combination of early 2000s country hits playing loudly AND loud mariachi music playing from the kitchen at the same time. The problem is, it's an open kitchen only a few feet from where everyone eats so you can clearly hear both music at the exact same time. BEASTED! Stopped in here before hitting the beach. Nice open concept for the shop, it's very large so I assume they can get rather busy. They offer day old bagels and streusels here, which can't be warmed but are still available for only $2. I grabbed one of those. I was expecting the streusel to be more of a pastry but it was just a bagel with sweet jam and sugar poured in the bagel hole. Good but I wouldn't recommend if you're already getting some sort of bagel sandwich like me. My sandwich was alright. It could've used a spicy mayo or some sort of aioli or pesto on it, it was pretty plain. The egg also tasted like it was from a box of pre cracked eggs instead of freshly cracked which I didn't like. Amazing bagels! We ordered two breakfast bagels and a blueberry streusel and apple streusel. Great job on these! The textures on these bagels were literally the best I've ever had. They also serve Sleepy Monk coffee which is one of my husband's and I favorite coffee. Esteban took our order. What a nice young man. He guided us through the menu and was very helpful. The service here was amazing! Thank you Esteban! The ambiance was set in an old bank with live plants, antique/eclectic furniture and decor. Such a neat place! It's a must stop for breakfast. I am no expert but I have never been happy with food I got here. Even their bagels are not good. I assume that they use eggs that come out of a carton, not a shell, they do not look or taste like fresh eggs. They have outdoor seating where dogs are allowed, and indoor seating that is cozy. Have gone here many times hoping they improved and have yet to be pleasantly surprised. If they get decent cream cheese, eggs and bagels, I would be there all the time. read more

I think the bagels are OK by West Coast standards. It's a great place to hang out, used to be better when they had live music. Couches are comfortable, and occasionally you got that enticing aroma of burnt toast (bagels) flooding around the air. Coffee is pretty good too, from sleepy Monk. Employees are very nice. I noticed recently that they stopped having newspapers. So maybe they don't want people hanging out and relaxing. That's a shame cuz it was the best thing about the place. Normally I really like this place but today's experience has really turned me off. I ordered an iced maple vanilla latte with cold foam. I paid extra for the cold foam as well. I was served a hot coffee??? Like I get the mix up normally, but cold foam is only in iced drinks. Then my boyfriend asks for an iced coffee. We get it back with no cold foam, and it tastes so bad I get heartburn from one sip. I loved my bagel, and they do that really well, it's a cute place too. They have a wide assortment of freshly baked bagels and offer a selection of breakfast and lunch bagel sandwiches. I went with the Eggle Bagel sandwich with bacon. The bagel has a nice texture, not too soft yet not too thick and doughy. The sandwich was well made and tasted great. If they could use better smoked bacon this would be a stand out breakfast sando. I am a local and since the change of ownership, service is not friendly and cannot get an order correct. Went there twice, first time was short a bagel, I ordered 6. Second time I went there, bagel count was correct but types of bagels were wrong did not receive 2 of the flavors ordered and got 4 of the same in place off those. When looking for a breakfast place in Seaside, this place looked so good! It was also walking distance from where we were staying, which was a huge plus. Overall it was just okay. For being primarily a bagel shop, I was expecting something better, but I may be spoiled by some of the amazing bagel spots in Beaverton! The coffee I had here was also really terrible. The space itself is really cool. It looks like it was an old bank as you can still see the vault. The space has super high ceilings and a lot of seating options. Next time I'm in Seaside this probably won't be my first choice for breakfast. read more

There are both small tables and comfortable chairs. There is also an area to set up your laptop and work peacefully if you choose. If you have a larger group or want to hold a meeting, you can rent out the old bank vault. My mother ordered the Focaccia bagel and enjoyed it. No skimping on the cream cheese here! I decided to try the Brunch Bagel which comes with crispy bacon, avocado, cheese, and tomato. I loved the perfectly toasted bagel and would order this again. The service was quick and prompt. The people are nice, the service was attentive and cheerful. Ice mocha tastes like an ice mocha should: cold, chocolate, and coffee. The bagel was something to behold. The inside were all well cooked, plenty of egg and tasty bacon. Could have used a creamy condiment, but otherwise it was yum. The bagel was a garlic overload of freeze dried garlic bits on a bagel, top and bottom. Too much garlic for me, and my wife who inhales garlic found it to be very garlic forward as well. I suggest going in with a friend and switching the top half of one garlic bagel for another not garlic half.
