    Lemon-Topia

FANTASTIC! I was so happy to see the plethora of vegan and vegetarian options, sandwiches and classic cream cheese bagels. I ordered the lemon-tapia vegan open faced sandwich. It was so so so yum! A little different to eat to say the least as my nose was constantly going into the carrots so you can say it was a hefty portion! My partnered ordered the classic egg and cheese sandwich along with an Asiago with cream cheese. The bagels for the vegan sandwich and eggs and cheese Sandwich were switched but we didn't care enough for it to be remade. The staff was friendly, restaurant is filled with plenty of seating, and the bathroom is gender neutral and very clean.

Bageltopia, Say no more! I am not sure why I thought this would be a small restaurant- it's not! It's pretty big for a bagel spot. The walls have great decorations throughout. Variety of bagels - menu changes at times, and so do their specials- I got spinach bagel with sunny side up! This could def be a shareable one. The eggs were cooked to perfection and it honestly, just waters in your mouth. The service was great! They are extremely acknowledgeable and they often give you their faves for you to try if you don't know what to get!

The service is super kind and helpful. I made a pick up order mentioning the missing salt bagel and was given 2 on the house. This is the only place I come to for bagels now lol. I wish they had egg bagel but I love getting poppy, everything, salt, plain, and sesame, My husband and I are also big fans of their salmon lox even though we kinda have ourselves the ick for smoked salmon but I had a lox bagel elsewhere literally two days after this one and the quality of Bageltopias salmon is unmatched fr. Cute shop and I was able to get some writing done in the back corner for a bit after enjoy my bagel brunch. Also want to confirm these freeze SO well, better than the other bagel spots around me that I've tried.

With a place being called Bageltopia this place truly doesn't disappoint and lives up to the name! They offer a pretty decent sized menu from breakfast bagel sandwiches to lunch ones which is very nice. Options galore when it comes to bagels too which is very nice and they make them all in house. I usually go with the Farmstand and it has the eggs over easy on top of a bunch of greens. Amazing flavor and a great start to the morning. The staff here is always very nice and they are usually really quick to get your order out even when they are very busy. The location is really nice too and they offer a ton of seating which is needed during to the demand of their yummy bagels! If you're in the North Berkeley area and needing a good fuel up for the morning or lunch this a really decent spot.

I love lox bagels, but I've been wanting to try a vegan alternative, so Yelp took me to Bageltopia! The interior (and exterior, with construction overlooked) was super cute and decorated for the Fall with pumpkins sprinkled around the store. There was no wait on a Friday afternoon and plenty of tables open. Lemon-topia: A vegan lox bagel that I quite enjoyed! I didn't taste as much of the lemon but it might've just been the half I ate. I love the greens + the vegan "salmon" itself, made out of carrots, was super yummy! Farmstand(?): We meant to order the Homestead to try the tofu scramble, but there was a slight miscommunication. Still, this one was delishhh with the basil butter and again, the greens just made our lunch super satisfying to eat. The everything bagel itself was also a wonderful texture. French Toast Bagel: These are sweet cinnamon-raisin bagel bites, and a great sweet balance to add to our savory bagels. Reminded me of a more dough-ey version of mall pretzel bites, topped with thick lemon-ricotta cream and maple syrup. Heavy, so I would never eat these on its own, but I enjoyed nonetheless. The person we ordered with was super nice + everybody here was just chill. Would love to come back to try all their vegan options.

nova lox bagel girly here and this is one of the best i've had!! they don't play with their portion as my toppings def kept falling out but i was so satisfied with how generous they were! came after a night shift to get a breakfast meal in and this filled me up! they have plenty of bagel choices to choose from and even have specials of the week. they do have a public bathroom and there are plenty of tables in the dining area to sit at.

Usually Bageltopia is so tasty and always innovative but on my visit there today I ordered the Cabrese bagel today and Wow! I was disappointed the bagel was so underwhelming, the bagel was fine but the mozzarella was way overloaded and the tomato soaked up all the olive oil and vinegrette and made the bagel so unappealing. The texture was wrong and I was left sad for spending my money on this. Not what I expected

Bageltopia was at the annual Bizerkeley Vegan Food Fest on September 7th this year! I can't believe this was my first time hearing of them, because I LOVE bagels. The team was very approachable and friendly even when we were just checking out the menu. They offered 3 items for the festival. We went with the Vegan Supernova ($7) which had house-smoked carrot in place of lox (smoked salmon)! Such a great deal for a food festival in my opinion. Every bite was so refreshing & I wish it was a full bagel so I had more to savor. I've never had smoked carrot before either, and honestly despite the lack of protein as a salmon replacement, it was actually really delicious. It was perfectly Smoky and even had an umami flavor profile! I was tempted to go back and ask if I could just buy a plate of the carrots. I really enjoyed the playful vibe of their logo & wonder how their store front is decorated to match! I can't wait to stop by to see what else they have to offer.

Bageltopia came highly recommended by a few friends! The inside is spacious with a decent amount of seating. The menu includes vegan and vegetarian options in addition to meat and other animal products. The menu also indicates that some of the bagels are hand-rolled! I ordered a New Jersey bagel, which came with eggs, sausage, cheese, and tomato jam. It was really good! I did order it on an everything bagel, but they accidentally gave me a plain bagel. No worries, though; it was still delicious! I stopped by the coffee shop Nextdoor to grab coffee to enjoy with my bagel. A very pleasant breakfast! I highly recommend.

I enjoyed the Homestead vegan bagel sandwich. The bagel itself was good, but pretty average.

Went their on a quick lunch break with my colleagues, there was no line and the food came out pretty quickly even with 9 of us there. It was clean and the server/cashier was very nice! I got the Mendicino turkey bagel sandwich and it was very good! Was a bit messy so I would recommend eating at a table or with a bunch of napkins. It was a bit pricy, for a bagel and a soft drink it was 20 dollars but overall I'd come back and have something else.

    Eating near order counter.

And it doesn't hurt that they make a respectable bagel. The bagels proclaim themselves as New York style, and they fall on the softer end of normal variation. We ordered poppy and onion bagels today. The dough in the poppy was malty and chewy, though it did not provide much structure. You can spread cream cheese over it and tear off pieces, but it won't support an open-faced sandwich. The crust was glossy and toothsome but not crisp. The onion bagel was similar in texture but notable because the bakers roll (rehydrated?) sautéed onion into the dough. The crumb is a bit softer as a result and the flavor is sweet and complex from the onion. It's definitely worth trying here. Berkeley Bagels has been around forever and feels like a real institution. It is not part of the SF bread scene, nor the new wave of modern sandwich-focused shops. It is a dependable, better-than-average bagel made by your neighbors. What's not to love?

The coffee and tea were WAY too sweet, it felt like we were drinking liquid sugar. The bagel was alright, but the slices of tomato and cucumber were very thick and it wasn't appetizing as they kept falling out and making the bagel mushy. The kebab plate had a melted salad dressing container in it, and the melted plastic got on some of the chicken, which made it inedible. I'm not sure if they were just having a bad day or if staff was overwhelmed, but overall it was a bad experience.

The basic bagel was SO GOOD. It genuinely might be one of the best bagels I've had. I loved the scallion cream cheese, and the tomato was super fresh and juicy without making the bagel soggy. The tomato and cream cheese also helped balance out the stronger flavor of the raw red onion. I'd definitely recommend this one if you're here! The honey truffle bagel had a really interesting sweet and salty combination. I loved the richness of the honey, while the earthy truffle flavor paired really nicely with it. The truffle cream cheese was a little too salty for my taste though. The shop itself is small and cozy, with limited indoor seating and an outdoor patio. They also have plain bagels, coffee, tea, and other options. Weekend lines can get a little long, but the wait is usually pretty reasonable. There's also plaza parking available across the street. Overall, I really enjoyed both bagels and would definitely come back for the basic bagel sando!

The crust makes a noticeable crunch when you bite through and the taste of pretzels comes through clearly. (The shop must add a liberal splash of lye to the water bath.) The dough inside has a salty flavor which can be too much on its own -- but as a result it complements the slightly muted cream cheese to make a tasty pair. The one issue for the bagels is their structure. The crumb loses its shape under any tearing or bending, which makes it hard to support a sandwich. We also noticed that the cream cheese had a slightly grainy texture. All told these are great bagels. Pair them with a cream cheese you like and rip in.
