When I have that opportunity to share a meal with family, we saw this place as we were passing by. This place is on a corner of Harrison Rd and Rt.1 (Patriot Hwy) with plenty of parking that is shared by other businesses. As we walked in, there's two parts that incorporates or blends in as a mini cafe and a market. The menu is simple and to the point which is located above the counter on the left. You have a choice of a platter or pita sandwich with only three meat selections: chicken, lamb and beef shawarma. There's also falafel and hummus. We mix match our orders, there were 2 pita sandwiches and 3 platters. While we waited for our order, we took a scroll at the market which was behind us. The market has variety of items such as souvenir, groceries, drinks, tea sets, fresh bread and praying rugs. Between the pita and platter, they were generous portions. On the table, they had 5 variety of sauces you can accommodate your meal with. Everything we order was delicious, our palette was craving for more after each bite. Out of the 5 sauces, we enjoy 3 which were tahini, sweet and hot; and Iraqi sauce. They also offer various desserts including baklava. It's a great place to try new dishes and learn a new culture which is ran by two guys that are friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. The cafe/market is clean and comfortable. In the future, I will definitely make a return visit.

The food, service, and ambiance at Baghdad Mediterranean Market are all 10/10! We stopped here after a hike nearby and ordered shawarma platters and a falafel pita. The meat, fresh and pickled vegetables, pita, baklava, and sauces were amazing; the service was warm and welcoming, there were a few cozy tables for dining. We will be back!

After hearing so much about this local market/eatery on a foodie page, I finally made the trip to Baghdad Mediterranean Market. While their food menu is limited, it's got the staples: falafel and shawarma. I tried both. Let's start with the falafel: it was nice and crispy in the outside but deliciously tender and moist on the inside. The sandwich is served in a pita-like bread and comes with sliced lettuce, tomatoes, and pickles. The shawarma also came in the pita-like bread and was topped with onions, tomatoes, and pickles. I also ordered za'atar french fries. Everything was made to order, including the fries. The family who runs the market is warm, friendly and I love that they keep the store very clean. Fantastic service all around. Since they were out of it, I'll be back for the hummus!!

    Delicious spices.

First off as soon as you walk in, the aroma of the food cooking is mesmerizing! They have a lot of interesting ingredients and the spice isle is a wonderland of flavors and variety. Now on to the food we ordered the shawarma combo with the zatar fries. Let me tell you, if you want amazing flavor that needs no sauce this is it... however their sauces are amazingly tasty. I tried every sauce and my favored is the tahini hands down. I also got a bag of falafel that brought a tear to my eye when I ate it. I have a new love of falafel because of this store. The service there is excellent, the family I met working there are so friendly and charming. They are kind and don't mind explaining items that I wanted to learn more about. I just went 2 weekends in a row and I may be back again soon.

I stopped into the Baghdad Mediterranean Market just to browse. It is a family owned business, very clean and neatly stocked. The customer service and hospitality are top tier. The owner and his family made me feel very welcomed and offered me samples of their creamy Turkish coffee and delicious Baklava. Best coffee and Baklava I've ever tasted. I purchased the Shawarma platter which was also delicious. I also purchased sliced Baklava and teas. I will definitely go back again.

I recently had the pleasure of trying Turkish coffee at Baghdad Mediterranean Market for the first time, and I must say, it was an extraordinary experience. From the aroma to the taste, every aspect of this traditional drink left me wanting more. The aroma of Turkish coffee is simply enchanting. As soon as the cup is placed in front of you, the strong and fragrant scent fills the air, instantly awakening your senses. It is a beautiful blend of earthiness and sweetness that is impossible to resist. Two choices are given, light or strong and I opted for strong and it did not disappoint. Taking the first sip of Turkish coffee is an experience like no other. The taste is bold and intense, yet smooth and velvety. The thick texture of the coffee coats your palate, allowing you to savor every sip. The flavor profile is complex, with notes of chocolate, nuttiness, and a hint of acidity. It is a coffee that demands your attention and invites you to indulge in its flavors. Overall, I highly recommend trying Turkish coffee to anyone who appreciates the art of coffee-making and enjoys a bold and flavorful cup of joe. It is a drink that transports you to another time and place, offering a glimpse into the rich cultural heritage. So, sit back, relax, and let the magic of Turkish coffee take you on a journey of taste and tradition. Oh and the owners offered me baklava to enjoy with the coffee to give a more of a sweet hint and I will be back for more. There are so many other things I want to try, mainly the falafel sandwich. I bought a very cute coffee cup set and it is so charming. The service was amazing and I love the smell of the different spices as soon as you walk in the door.

The best shawarma I've had! Both the beef/lamb and chicken were delicious. The service was great as well, everyone is super friendly. You can look through the store while you wait for your food. Highly recommend the Turkish coffee!

Me and my family happened to be passing by Fredericksburg and found this little market in the town. We didn't have any expectation, but it was so delicious especially the falafel sandwich and the Turkish coffee! I chose the lighter option and it was so good. Don't underestimate the amount of coffee they give you, I still feel awake, and it's been like 12 hours. The owner is from Iraq and he will give you a quick history lesson if you ask. He was super friendly and welcoming. We will definitely go back!

A true hidden gem in Fredercksburg. Omar was a gracious host and all the food he provided was fantastic. We finished off with strong coffee and sweet cakes.

Great Yelp find. The food and service were exceptional- especially for a walk up deli style place. Try the Baklava!

Faris took time to tell us about the menu and recommended an amazing grill combo! We had grilled lamb chops, chicken, koftah, rice, side salad, fresh pita, and salsas. Two of us couldn't finish it all! The flavors were amazing! I really enjoyed the lentil soup we had with our hummus starter. The soup came out the perfect temperature. Not too hot not too cold legit just right! I had the shai which was delicious! Black tea with spices. And Faris was kind enough to give us each a sample of the shai adani , black tea with condensed milk and spices. I'll for sure order a cup next time. Think chai latte flavor! The restaurant itself is very nice inside and there's an outdoor patio as well! We will for sure be back!

I'm…read morenot sure if it's under new management, new staff, or a different cook, but things are not the same. The once generous portions have shrunk down to something similar to Chipotle-sized servings. The staff, who used to be delightful, now seem less friendly, and the food just doesn't have the same flavor. Last week, I called to place an order, and they were out of rice. A few days later, I tried again, and when I picked up my food, I noticed the portion size had significantly decreased. Today, I tried to place an order at 7:30 pm for pickup at 8:30 pm, well within their posted store hours of 9:00 pm. The gentleman on the phone informed me that they couldn't prepare my order because they close at 8:20 pm. When I mentioned that their posted closing time was 9:00 pm, he explained that although they close at 9:00 pm, the kitchen shuts down by 8:30 pm, and I needed to pick up my food before then. I had already requested my order at 7:30 pm, well within their timeline, so this was frustrating. Unfortunately, I'll be taking my business back to Kabob Corner in Fredericksburg or Stafford.

They have their lunch buffet on weekdays, which is great, as most places only seem to do this on weekends. First impression when walking in was it was a converted Ruby Tuesday, but WOW, they did an EXCELLENT job from replacing the entire ceiling, flooring, tables/booths and even the window shades, to fully updating the restroom too, they clearly dumped a lot of money and effort into this place and it shows! The buffet looks beautiful, not grimey and messy, rather all food items are in clamshell heated servers, which kept the food fresh and piping hot. The offering was excellent, with a plain rice and a more elaborate rice, called Palau. The Qaubili Palau was incredible! Loaded with fresh ingredients and made with an outstanding quality basmati! The lamb that was in it was super tender and not gamey at all, rather perfectly seasoned and sooo very tasty! They also offered a more plain rice, which was slightly seasoned and also very good! Another fav of mine were their meatballs... they tasted like a mild lamb and were just as tender as that too (not sure if they're lamb tho). Flavor of the curry they were in was excellent! Their chick peas and subzi (spinach) were excellent alternatives for those not wanting meat... I definitely enjoyed a few servings of these!! Chicken kabob was beautiful in color and nicely flavored with a tenderness that was spot-on. Service was friendly and they even sincerely cared how the food was, by asking. I'd definitely suggest stopping in to try it for yourself and I look forward to returning, soon!
