The soups at lunch time are wonderful. Dinner in the evening was delicious. It seemed authentically Italian.

The food is tasty. The menu offers a variety of good food including salads, dinners and catering options. The people working there are friendly and efficient for the most part. The restaurant offers booths and tables and we prefer to go there on the off hours. The location is very convenient and ordering on phone for pick-up is easy. read more

My wife and I have eaten at Basilico many times. The food is great. The pizza is fantastic. The service is quick. We highly recommend it!

The food taste pretty good but it is a little pricey. They finally got rid of the extra charge though if you use your debit card.

The service is friendly and helpful. The amount of entrée choices is overwhelming but I have enjoyed everything that I have ordered. The food is made with care and the flavors are nicely done. The desserts are amazing! Definitely make room for a piece of cake, pie, or pastry. The only thing I have trouble with is the choice of sides - they don't really go with every entrée. I did not think there was a side that went with what I ordered so I just ended up getting the potato chips and did not eat them. read more

Sorry, food is okay, but I cannot recommend a business that charges a credit card fee. They don't advertise this, you find out when you scrutinize your receipt. Few carry cash anymore, so I'll go to other places that are more reasonably priced and do not charge me for paying with a credit card.in the future. read more

They have a long way to go here. We've been waiting for this for 2 years. I would have been willing to wait another month or two for them to get things in order. For now stick with the original. Went for dinner with my SO. It wasn't crowded at all. He ordered a plain cheese pizza and I ordered a Chicken Dijon panini. Then we sat down and waited, and waited . . .and waited - 35 minutes in total. We finally found someone who who worked there seemed to notice us and asked what we had ordered. We were told they were waiting on the pizza. A few minutes later, the food came out and the pizza was piping hot. Unfortunately my sandwich and the mac and cheese were rather cold (not even lukewarm). Even cold, I would say, though, that their mac and cheese is the best around. SO pronounced the pizza pretty good for Virginia pizza, which is quite a compliment from a former NYer. My sandwich was only OK. There was way too much mustard on it and it wasn't spread, but plopped on in one place and the bread was too hard - probably from being cooked and then left sitting around. Since there is such a varied menu, we took out one of their specialty pizzas later in the week. Again the pizza was quite good, but there was a problem. It rang up $2 more than is listed on the menu. It was a bit of a problem getting this settled because, according to the worker, "But that's what's in the computer." Since we are only minutes away, today my SO decided to go for a short drive and try their breakfast. (I really like the original place and so want to like this). He brought home the Croissant and eggs - and again a problem. First the price rang up wrong again. This time they admitted they are having a problem and refunded the difference. But, the sandwiches were ice cold. They hadn't cooled on the 4 minute ride. They were like they came straight out the fridge and we had to heat them ourselves. Will I go back - probably, but not as often and I am so disappointed. I hope this review will be useful to them in getting their act together. read more

Inconsistent but usually good. Double check your take out order...they always forget something...especially if you order desert... Food is good but n ot great. Meatball sub had no flavor but was massive. Pizza very good. The Italian sub average. Sandwiches need more meat. It just a step below very good. read more

Happy this place finally opened. We have Basilico catered in for work lunches all the time and the food is always yummy! Now there is a Basilico by my house. Came here for dinner with coworkers. Ordered the mushroom ravioli. It was disgusting. It was just a dish of cheddar cheese. Worst ravioli I have I ever had. Thought I would try to disguise the awful after taste in my mouth with gelato. Not sure where they get their gelato but that was bleh as well. Will stick with Orofinos downtown. read more

Worst experience ever. Sticking with location by Mary wash. Waited in line for over 15 minutes at the dessert counter, no one payed attention to us standing there ,we payed & then tell me they don't have pasta do a refund and recharge everything else again. Making me waste double the money , haven't received my refund either it's been 4 days , no thanks!! read more

I saw on previous reviews that the Cowan Blvd. location had gluten free menu/options so we decided to give it a try on Plank Rd. I approached order counter staffed by 2 teenage girls and asked if they had a gluten free menu or any options. One girl just said they have GF pasta and pizza crust. I then asked if she could tell me what meals/ingredients were gluten free also and she looked at me like I was speaking Chinese-then said I'm sorry I don't know what you mean? She looked at other girl who was also totally clueless. Then they were just silent and sort of wandered off towards the kitchen area ( I wrongly assumed to ask someone who might know) and stayed there until my family and I eventually gave up and walked out of the restaurant. I've never been somewhere where staff could care less whether they served you or not-what a disappointment. My family loves Italian and was so excited when it opened but unfortunately we will not be back. read more
