Loved this place! A friend pointed it out when we drove by it and I was craving something Mediterranean yesterday. The staff is very friendly and the food was great! They bring out fresh pita with a dipping oil and the rest of the meal came out pretty quickly too. I got the chicken shawarma platter, a side salad and spinach pies. The chicken was seasoned really well and so tender. I really wish they'd add a mezze platter as an option. There were so many things I wanted to try from the appetizer section of the menu. It was surprisingly quiet for a weeknight, but the atmosphere was bolstered by their half-price bottled wine special, which was a great find. The restaurant offers an expansive menu with a lot of variety. I'd recommend staying focused on the Mediterranean specialties. I had the spicy hummus which was smooth and came with a side of olive oil, and the falafel platter--served with rice, tahini, and fresh vegetables--hit the right notes for a traditional meal. While also offer items like pizza, pasta, etc. The service was a highlight; both the staff and the fellow guests at the bar were incredibly welcoming and friendly. It's the kind of place where the people make you feel right at home. In terms of value, the pricing is very fair for the portion sizes and quality of the food. Unfortunately, the evening was dampened by a persistent, unpleasant sewage smell throughout the bar area. I have mixed feelings about this place..There was no one there the first time we went.The bartender said it was because of the snow.The Pinktini was nothing to write home about the Mixed kabob platter was fantastic! I ordered the Greek Salad with Gyro, the Traditional Hummus, and the Steak Panini -- everything was fresh, flavorful, and prepared beautifully. Our waitress did start off on the wrong foot, and I honestly considered deducting a star. But everyone has a bad day, and to her credit, she returned to our table with a smile and gave us great service for the rest of the meal. I truly appreciated the turnaround. I've been here three times...twice with large groups. For some reason I have bad luck here, but admit the other folks food turned out great. 1st visit got sick (coincidence possible of course), second visit was fine, third visit Lasagna came out very late (20 people in group) when most people were on their last bites, so I think they forgot to put my order in. Then it was still cold in the middle and cheese on top wasn't melted. So yes, definitely forgot to start my order. We went to Aladdin and it was amazing! We had the chicken and gyro rice bowls and they were so filling and tasty. The naan and avocado hummus was wonderful while we waited for dinner, although not long because we had a fantastic server named Alexa. I went here for dinner and the whole place was empty aside from one other table. It was almost 8pm on a Wednesday, so that's probably why. The road work they're doing isn't helpful either, I'll say. I got one of the new Mediterranean bowls, similar to Cava, and it was delicious! They have us plus and olive oil to start, which the spice blend was not the best, but I ate it anyways. In my bowl i got rice, chicken, and tzatziki. It came with two fried pita chips and bit was it tasty! In comparison to Cava it's hard to say. Cava has so many different toppings with theirs, but this one was just as good, just not as customizable. If I'm in the area I would definitely go back! I opted for the bowl of the day (chicken, spicy hummus, rice, lettuce, cucumber, tomatoes, pita chips and olives) and the hummus platter to start with. The hummus was SO GOOD. I should have just ordered the platter as a starter for me, not to share. I could have easily eaten it all myself. Service was great throughout, until we finished the meal. Our server was nowhere to be found and it took almost 20 minutes to get the check. Minor issue, just annoying. Plenty of seating room inside, and ample parking in the lot outside. I got the LENTIL SOUP (6) and it was pretty thick with a gritty/grainy texture. It was fine -- not bad, but not great. My friend got the FALAFEL PLATTER (16) which came with two sides, so she got the rice and roasted potatoes. The falafel was alright and kind of lacked flavor and seasoning. Very crispy, though. The potatoes were soggy and tasteless. Not sure about the rice, I didn't try. Overall, it was just OK. The restaurant interior was a bit more antique/old-school style. Servers were nice. read more

The good about our dinner at Aladdin: Food was excellent. The not so good: We sat around for several minutes after being seated before anyone asked for our drink order and bringing bread and oil. The servers seemed disorganized, without assigned tables. Some customers seemed to be getting a lot of attention, while others waited for twenty minutes for a beverage. The restaurant was very busy by the time we left, yet three of the servers were hanging around by the front door chatting. I was in Fredericksburg on a business trip, tired and looking for some good Mediterranean food. Aladin was close to my hotel, so I stopped in and ordered the Mediterranean Salad and a Gyro Platter. Both dishes were excellent--fresh, flavorful, and served in very generous portions. In fact, the salad was so big I couldn't finish it and ended up saving it for lunch the next day. My girlfriend and I stopped by after a long day up in Alexandria. The food was great and our server was nice, but as someone who used to be a front of house manager in the industry, how you present yourself and treat your guests is everything. Again, our server was nice, but you could tell she was annoyed that she had to serve us. The restaurant closes at 10pm, and we got there around 8:45pm. We sit down and immediately get told the kitchen closes in 30 minutes. I get it, they close at 10, but we haven't even ordered our drinks yet. We order waters and spend a few mins deciding on what we want to eat. Eventually, we place our orders and again, the food was very good, but the whole time, we felt extremely rushed. It was almost like we were at fault for making them stay until close. It's not like we walked 20 minutes before close. We arrived at 8:45 and they closed at 10. A couple servers were cleaning and vacuuming around us, which, again, is fine, but our server kept on clearing things off of our table while we were still eating. We finish, get a box and eventually get the check. In the meantime, there is nothing on our table but our waters. A few sauces that we were still using for side dishes were taken off without asking if we were done with them. At this point, we are annoyed but elect against saying something. Our server was young and we didn't want to cause any trouble. The final straw for us was she walks over and while we are still clearly drinking our waters, she asks us if she could take our glasses of water and if we are done. We just let her take the waters. She brings us our check, and she was looking at us from where she was standing, waiting for us to leave. The entire visit felt rushed and while we were going to be in and out in 30 mins, it really felt like they thought we were doing something wrong for simply eating a late dinner. I agree, walking in 15 or 20 mins before close to dine in is a little tacky, but we were there over an hour prior to close. I still tipped 20% because of my ethics and morals, but it would truthfully be hard for us to go back. Working in the food business sometimes requires long hours, if you can't handle it, maybe find a different job. We get servers have long and rough days, but we do too. Only disappointment was the rice. I was visiting my son and his fiancée over Black Friday weekend. We spent the day shopping and decided to order in. We like a sort of food. We do like Mediterranean food, especially Greek food. We got some humus which was fantastic. It must be fresh made because of how rich and creamy it was. I had a gyro and my wife had the gyro platter. My son ordered Beef Shawarma and his fiancée got tortellini. It was all wonderful five stars. We noticed the menu was quite extensive and had many other options. I saw wings so I got some with Thai chili sauce and was surprised how good they were. We ordered on-line using their website. It was very easy to place our order and it was ready very quickly. When I picked up the order I was greeted by a friendly person who quickly gathered my order and I was in and out in under 3 mins. That person even asked me if I would need plates and utensils. I did not but it was a nice touch to ask tgat wuestion When I got the order home I was pleasantly surprised how everything was packaged. I was all very hot and ready to eat. I travel a lot and eat out and take out quite a bit. I am used to subpar service and very inconsistent food quality BUT Aladin in Fredericksburg did an amazing job. I saved Aladin to my favs in Fredericksburg. I will definitely visit again and I think my son and his fiancée will be making this a regular place they visit. read more

Some work colleagues and I stopped by Aladin's for lunch on our way to DC. The restaurant is a convenient location, right off 95. The lunch menu is also very affordable with most dishes priced at $11. Our servers were very friendly and efficient in their table service. Both times I have eaten here, I've been very impressed. All of the employees are friendly. My servers were great about offering suggestions & explaining different items on the menu! It has a very calming atmosphere. That may sound like an odd way to describe a restaurant, but it's true. My oldest son and his wife are in town, so that means lots of dining out. Saturday, we hit up Aladin Mediterranean Kitchen for lunch. It was the first time for them. As always, everything there was just amazing! My son ordered the mussels to start. It was my first time ever having mussels and will not be the last (at least not the last time from Aladin). They were terrific. My son ordered the beef shawarma for his entrée, my daughter in law had the beef orzo soup and a small pine salad, and my husband and I split the chicken steak sub with fries and a small Mediterranean salad. And of course, we had a couple of baskets of their pita bread. Everything was delicious! Aladin is always a good choice for lunch or dinner. We've yet to be disappointed. read more

Ordered a pizza based on a recommendation. I know. I know it's a Mediterranean restaurant, which is why I was so surprised to hear such a high rating for pizza (especially as a New Yorker). The person that referred me was a lab technician who also claimed to be a New Yorker. It's been on my mind since as I could not believe a Mediterranean restaurant having "THE CLOSEST THING TO NY PIZZA" in the va area, so I finally caved and gave it a try. Well, lab tech from Quest diagnostics in the Woodbridge office, you sir are the one that needs to be drug tested. This is likely the worst pizza I've ever had in any state. We've always enjoyed the local Aladin we had on Rt17, then they closed it and the one on Rt3 to move both into one location down in Southpoint and so we tried it today, since we were down in that area... That plaza is a pain to get in and out of, but we made it there (and back) safely! They weren't very busy when we arrived, at the peak of lunch time, so we were greeted and seated immediately. The place is very nicely decorated and very clean. They have a big bar area with TVs and high-tops. We sat in the main dining room. They also have lots of outdoor seating. Their menu is pretty good, same as it was before, but with subs added (I don't recall the one on Rt17 having subs). We ordered a Greek Salad with chicken souvlaki added and a chicken platter, which came with sautéed veggies. Both meals were really good and fresh! The chicken was very tender and moist and nicely seasoned too. The greens in the salad were fresh and the veggies in the sauté were perfect! I really love their green sauce and today it was nice and spicy! Something else they do excellently is their fresh made pita bread, which they give with some seasoned olive oil when you sit down and it was fabulous!
