My experience here was horrible it took 20 min for 2 SMALL snowcones js for them to be super sticky on the sides on the cup

We came in around 5pm on 07/31 and ordered two snow cones. The wait was about 15 minutes which I wouldn't have had an issue with if the ginger lady with the slick back bun wasn't on her phone most the time, texting and listening to music through her AirPod. The drive thru has been closed the last several times I have been here. I have my dog, my 4 year old and my 7 year old and we've faired the 97 degree weather for a treat. Walked in, other 3 customers in the building had already ordered and received their snowcones, so I was the only person in the shop ordering with nobody coming inside to order after me, ended up waiting 21 minutes for a single small wedding cake with condensed milk, in which time one of the five employees there bothered to ask "do you know which flavor you ordered?" And then "are you an online order?" Meanwhile there was only one employee actually making anything. Eventually they set my snowcone on the counter and it's just absolutely dripping down the side with syrup, not a single effort to clean it before putting it down. Service was good. Went on a Sunday evening so definitely a busy time. Flavors were normal, but the main reason I like Bahama Bucks is for the soft powdery ice. How does a business end up closing its doors for the last time? I firmly believe it weighs heavily on poor customer service. We went to this location for the first time tonight. We arrived at 7:30 so they were still open for another 30 minutes. They had several employees at the location and all seemed to be busy working. Then we met the cashier. A young man ( who I won't name because I have a feeling he will have several jobs over his lifetime due to his unprofessional attitude). The menu was blacked out and he told us it wasn't broken it was just turned off. This made ordering very difficult. We asked what flavors they had ( because the menu was turned off). He said "we have many" end of sentence. So we then tried to order off of decals on the counter. My wife picked one, strawberry, to which he answered, "we don't have strawberry", end of sentence. No assistance in choosing a flavor. He was completely uninterested in helping us order. Employees like this end up costing owners their business. I have over twenty years of experience in the food and customer service industry. I didn't say anything to the employees. We simply left. What I will do is tell many, many people about our experience. Good luck staying in business with your current employees. read more

On a hot day, so long as one is fine with Disney World-sized lines (and prices), Bahama Buck's might just be the place. We've patronized this location 5-6 times over the past few years and we've left there disappointed just about every time. Sure, the snow cone ice is wonderfully soft, and this joint offers a veritable potpourri of flavors, but the syrups are way too sweet and there's not much difference in flavor from one variety to the next. Furthermore, at least half of the time, I've dug into plain snow about an inch into the cup (as in ... someone is being skimpy with the colored sugar water). I would be OK with the product here if it was not so expensive ... and if the wait time didn't resemble the circa 1970s diners, where you waited 45 minutes for a burger because they actually had to shape it, cook it (without a microwave) and plate it. I've waited in line at this Bahama Bucks for at least 30 minutes -- for a snow cone. On my most recent visit, we waited in line for about 10 minutes before deciding to pull around the front and order from the counter. Though it moved more quickly than the drive-thru, it still involved an additional 10-minute wait. Note in my August 15 photo that eight people were working behind the counter. Though only one person was on her phone, it just seems that the whole operation is inefficient. Why do I say that? Because, for one, I've operated a much larger business with fewer employees. Furthermore, in my younger years, I worked in restaurant kitchens with fewer employees, and we prepared food for entire tables more quickly than these folks can scoop ice in a cup and add a few squirts of flavor. But I digress... I'll probably be back here because it seems that the mom & pop snow cone stands are either hidden, or have gone out of business because of highway construction. (If someone knows of a good one on my neck of the woods, I'd love to give it a shot.) read more

Got here right at 12p when they opened and were the first ones here. We got 2 baby sno cones and a strawberry calypso. The girl ran my card and Got the 2 sno cones in a few minutes and then the girl came back saying my card didn't run. No problem. Gave her back my card and asked for a receipt in case I get double charged. Then when the guy asked if I was waiting on another drink I told him I was waiting on my strawberry calypso. I sat in the drive thru for another 5-7 min and then decided to go inside only to find out the had given it to someone else inside. Overall time to get 3 items was 20 min. I've been to this locations several times in the last 2 years and honestly only had a good experience a handful of times. School isn't out yet and it's not even their busy season. My family enjoys the snowcones from Bahama Bucks. The product is the only thing that keeps us returning. Each time we visit, inside or drive thru, it never fails -we get terrible service with a ridiculously long wait time.... Confusingly long. Busy or empty, it ALWAYS takes forever. Today's visit we went through the Drive Thru. I ordered 4 small flat tops. There was one car ahead of us. It took 37 minutes to get all 4 of our snow cones. The first one given to us melted by the time we got the last one. One of them was made wrong but I didn't mention the error because I couldn't imagine waiting 1 more minute there. In the past when we have visited the inside, the tables were sticky, napkins empty and again, the wait.... Confusingly long. I wish the service and atmosphere matched the quality of the shaved ice. read more

One of them gives me a receipt and looked me in the eye and gave it to me without telling me anything thinking I was just going to throw it away however I needed it for my card purchase she gives me a receipt with no amount on it and I tell her hey this don't even have the amount and says oh yeah well it's not working ok but she was not gunna tell me that before. The establishment itself was very clean however the service was subpar to say the least. I truly wanted to enjoy my experience here but the staff were cold and not very inviting. Upon entry we were not greeted and of the 6 employees working it took much longer than anticipated to be able to order given the fact that everyone who'd already seemingly ordered before us was served prior to our arrival. Once we'd ordered we waited as 4 drive thru orders were completed and two separate groups of customers arrived after us. Both were greeted with enthusiasm that was not present at our entry and both were approached and served in an expedited manner. My fiancé and I are not the kind of people who seek out trouble or want to initiate any kind of conflict however, after sitting for more than 15 minutes as we waited for our snow cones and watching the joyous, speedy manner in which customers both prior to and after us were served, we were filled with discontent. I will say we did receive our orders after about 20 minutes and the quality was excellent. If this review was solely based on quality I'd give the establishment a 5/5 with zero hesitation. We were actually greeted when we walked in & they thanked us for our business on our way out. There was a short wait but the staff was moving fast; a very popular place! Was not even greeted a hello. Just a blank stare so I gave my left. 6 employees chit chatting instead of making the order.

Although the drive thru was closed, we went in to order six shaved ices. We ordered and Aidan came over to say that they were out of the skinny taste flavors so I opted for regular syrup but just a smaller amount of syrup. We got our order and left, not realizing our phone was left behind. Aidan ran out all the way to the exit on the parkway to let us know we had left our phone. Thanks again Aidan! read more

We used to love this Bahama Bucks but now it is HORRIBLE. The teenagers working there are rude and have an attitude when you order. The ice for the sno cones tastes like cleaning solution (likely what is used to clean the ice making machine) and was a "goo" consistency. I would give this place 0 stars if I could. I will tell my friends and acquaintances about the horrible experiences so they don't waste their money to eat slime and be treated poorly. Also, they were out of sprinkles and NAPKINS! So I just took the grandkids to Bahama Bucks and I was pretty disappointed. The treats were good - once we got them - but the service left a lot to be desired. I had to repeat the order multiple times, even though I'm careful to speak loudly and clearly at drive thrus. There seemed to be multiple employees walking around doing nothing, while one was working hard to make the shaved ice. The young lady helping us was more interested in the conversations that were happening behind the counter and whoever she was texting on her phone than she was in getting our order out to us. This is one of my favorite hidden gems in the league city area. This may be a smaller chain of snow cones across Texas but It does have everything and more needed for the perfect snow cone. They have creme, ice cream, smoothies, milkshakes and snowballs as well. Another amazing option is snowcone ice and a soft drink of your choice. The workers are all friendly and willing to suggest some new combos and offer samples too! My only complaint if any is that the customer service isn't always there. The drive thru is sometimes slow and you shouldn't expect to spend less than 10 minutes. If anything you're going to spend 10-20 minutes in the drive thru if it's before 5pm. read more
