    Monte-Cuban Empanada

The Empanada Bar is amazing! Our entire experience was fantastic from start to finish. We ordered the Loaded Cuban and the Original empanada, and both were absolutely delicious. The service was fast, friendly, and welcoming, making the visit even better. If you're ever in the area, don't pass this place up, you'll be missing out on an incredible meal!

One word: DELICIOSO! (Delicious). We tried half the menu and it was well worth it. Love the chill vibes and ambiance of the place. Very comfortable seats and nice tables. Everything looks clean. My wife and I really enjoyed the food and I highly recommend that you drop your current meal plans and come here fast As a Hispanic who grew up eating empanadas, this is as close that you will get to Abuelita's (grandma's) cooking. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. If Yelp had a secret sixth star I would gladly give it; they have earned their place in my top list of Houston restaurants.

Food- 8/10 The empanadas were great. It was the chimichurri that was lacking. It was practically vinegar with parsley. The many times I've had chimichurri and I've made it myself too, it's olive oil, red wine vinegar, parsley, garlic, etc. this was all vinegar. I didn't taste any garlic or oil. It wasn't what I was expecting nor did I think pure vinegar paired well with the tasty empanadas. Service- 10/10 The guy who took my order was really nice and the lady who handed me my to go order was also really nice. Ambiance- 9/10 It's a casual place. There's some tables and chairs and they even have a drive thru although trying to get out of the parking lot is a nightmare. You have to go around and wait for the people who are in line for their order since it's only one lane. I ended up going backwards as the people were still sitting there waiting for their food.

Banana Bread Latte and Churro Latte

Food was really good! We ordered the original beef, (very similar to picadillo) originally chicken (similar to tinga), Mexican street corn, and artichoke and spinach. For drinks we got the churro latte and banana bread latte. Both were super good and I'm OBSESSED with the banana bread latte. The service was great! Super kind staff, they were very patient with us and explained the menu. Not enough people know about this place, and they deserve more hype!

Well I had time to process what I had not only today but the past 4 times I've ordered Door Dash from there. I still have more to try. My favorites so far are the Original Beef, crawfish (it was for a limited time), Buffalo chicken and Spinich and Artichoke empanadas... so far. I can tell that these empanadas are made with love. Now what I tried so far, I Now want to go there personally and try the other menu items out. I'm excited to see the service and ambiance for myself. If you're looking for a place that serves tasty empanadas that are homemade and made with love, this is the place for you.

Beef empanada with dulce de leche

Beef empanada was great warm snack. They offer various dipping sauces. And dulce de leche was very good iced. They have two sizes. Good place to relax or work on your own or in a group. They offer personal two seating area with a nice window view. Patio seating available also with shady covering. Live band after 5 pm. Staff is very helpful on selecting our drinks and service is good.

Damn it!!! I am going to hate writing this review. Mainly because this is my secret find of the year, this is the most amazing empanada I have ever eaten, and I have eaten a lot. We were traveling down Main Street in Webster and saw " the Empanada bar" sign and on the whim we did a U-turn and went back. When we got there, it looked very empty so we decided to do the drive-through. Yes they have a drive-through empanada menu. They had a really huge selection of different types of empanadas. I got the Cuban, which was a combo of beef ham cheese. It was amazing. My Wife got the ham and artichoke with with cheese and an egg chorizo. They were crispy was seasoned and with a huge amount of really good cheese. They also have an outdoor dining area around back that is under a giant swamp oak tree. It was one of the best and relaxing experiences. I've had in a long while. They also have beer and wine. Without a doubt, this is one of the best places I have eaten in the long time. It was so good that on the way out, we stopped at the drive-through again, and got a whole bunch of breakfast and afternoon empanadas for the weekend. Yeah, when the world of go no go. The empanada bar is definitely a go by only problem is that I am telling everyone about the empanada bar and it is no longer my secret GO!

Hole in the wall with a cute interior, friendly staff, and delicious food. Def want to go again.

We stopped here for a mid-afternoon snack and got there just in time to enjoy their Mardi Gras specials. Quick service and pretty large menu. Excellent crawfish empanada and craft beer selection. Really good spot if you're in the neighborhood. 10/10 recommend!

This place is amazing! We got a 6 pack (plus the flavor of the month) and tried quite a few different ones and everyone one was fantastic. Just stumbled across this place staying down at Kemah but we might end up back here a few times this week!

Been reading all the chatter about this place on social media and I finally had the opportunity to to stop in while passing through League City. It was 2pm and I hadn't had lunch so I was starving. I had along drive ahead of me so I just ordered to go at the counter. Service was incredible, explaining the menu and options (breakfast, savory and sweet) Wow! I went with pick 6 and absolutely loved them all. I could see them making the dough fresh in the back. Everything came out hot and right out of the fryer. I ate 2 almost in the parking lotand brought the rest back to share with my hubby. Needless to say we are planning our next trip to LC.

Empanadas are Delish!!!! Service was so welcoming especially from Melissa! If you're not sure what to try just ask Melissa, so welcoming & helpful! Love the ambiance of this place! Outdoor patio seating with shade if needed, walking in to a clean and cozy atmosphere, games for guests while enjoying & relaxing. My Family Favs: hubby: sausage egg & cheese, chorizo, beef then chicken. Daughter #1: the Cuban, beef w/chimichurri dipping sauce Daughter #2 sandwich(loves their bread for the sandwiches, pressed just like a Cuban/panini) Toddler: Beef Me: I am picky when it comes to empanadas because the lack of seasoning so o usually will get guava & cream cheese BUT...oh my..oh my... the sofrito and their crust has me! BEST empanadas especially growing up eating my Cuban great & grandmothers empanadas. Chicken YES! Beef YES! Guava YES! Breakfast YES! I have to come back to try others because I was too full. Cafe cón Leche was my drink of choice but they have LOT of great options, hot and iced, coffee, teas, sodas, juice, Malta(iron beer), Jarrito's, etc.. they have it all! Definitely recommending this place to everyone!!

The place was tucked off in plaza I had to get up in there and was so pleasantly surprised. So cozy and cute. They have a great selection of empanadas and all the ones I had were sooooooo good. The spinach was a little juicier than I anticipated but everything was made so fresh. The Tia Maria and eggplant were my favorites and the sauces were a great addition in flavor. The dessert empanada sweet potatoes was top tier. The filling was just sweet enough, definitely want to taste the others, especially since they make their own fruit fillings. I can see how they've been around for so long. New customer alert !

It is still run by the original family of the founders (#1) and is a destination for all things empanada and Argentina. Despite the original location closing due to a fire 40 years ago, the current setup is still reminiscent of tradition and a rich history. From photos of the Marini family adorned throughout the walls, to the old school feel of the interior and outer corridor, the place feels like it's from another time. Their menu consists of a variety of empanadas, some of which lean heavier toward the traditional Argentine flavors such as their beef gaucho, which is an excellent mix of ground beef, hard boiled egg, olives, onions, and spices. The humita is a veggie friendly choice, with seasoned creamed corn, with onions, spices, and mozzarella cheese. Some other more creative options, such as the chuckwagon (ground beef, red wine sauce, mushrooms, onions and tomato) or Texas BBQ (slow cooked beef in bbq sauce) are a deviation from the traditional stuff but are no less fun to order. the Tex-Mex ups the ante from the Texas BBQ with added serrano peppers, jack and cheddar cheese. Almost all the empanadas are around $4-5 each. Empanadas might get all the shine, but the most fascinating part to me is the specialty sandwiches. Their series of milanesa based sandwiches are impressive, as well as the choripan ($13.50), which is a grilled Italian sausage with veggies, is not easily found in Houston. The churrasco ($18.50) is the heartiest choice, with chunks of marinated New York steak in chimichurri, in sandwich or salad form. The service has been friendly and the parking is a non-issue. Prices have steadily crept up over the years, but there aren't enough businesses with the same repertoire that brings the same kind of versatility that Marini's has. I look forward to many more meals and hope to make a dent in their vast selection of dessert empanadas. I genuinely hope they continue to keep their tradition and family legacy alive for the future generation. ____________ (#1) The children of Marcello and Pelusa Marini.

I came today to get a dozen, 13 actually, to share with friends on the 4th! I arrived while the counter person was offloading supplies. He said they opened at 11am. I placed an order for 1 dozen pineapple, cream cheese empanadas. I got there at 10:20am. Diego said he would work on it and they would be ready when they opened @11am. Unfortunately, Diego did not have my order ready when they opened. I clearly told him when he was bringing in product for the day that I need a dozen pineapple cream cheese empanadas when they opened. He said OK and continue bringing in product. At 11 AM when they opened, I went in and to my surprise Diego had not placed my order and it definitely wasn't ready. I was a bit annoyed and a tad bit confused. I said to him why didn't you place the order like I asked you to when you were bringing in supplies it went on to say that look if you need payment prior to getting the order that would not have been a problem, but you let me believe you were going to start making empanadas so they'd be ready when you opened. Diego counted with "no that's not what I said, I told you that you could place your order when we opened". To say I was more than annoyed would be a colossal understatement! I was so impressed with this product that I ordered a dozen to share three each with people that I consider special. Unfortunately, for Diego and the business owner, his unprofessionalism and outright deception cost him a potentially long-term customer. Like all of you I earned my money and I want to spend it supporting businesses that appreciate those people who support them. I was so disrespected that I choose not to get over it, but rather spend my money at a restaurant that has good product and values. It's customers more than this establishment! Does this restaurant make it quality product absolutely! Does this restaurant value customer is coming early in placing orders with them directly and honoring what they say? Absolutely not, at least not in my case! This restaurant goes from 5 to 2 stars because of this awful interaction. I am so disappointed, but that is life and with so many awesome businesses out there vying for customers this behavior could send them into a death spiral. GN3

Sometimes all it takes is a craving and a good map app…read more My son and I were headed from Northwest Houston toward the Galleria when I got a random craving for empanadas. A quick search along our route brought us to The Empanada Company, and we arrived about 45 minutes before closing. The place isn't very large, and the bakery display cases held what was left of the day's offerings. The young lady behind the counter had been sweeping when we walked in and wasn't especially chatty when I asked about the different empanadas, but she answered my questions and let us browse. I was disappointed to find that the Chicken Tinga empanada I had my eye on was already sold out. My son ordered a couple of chicken pastries, and I gave him the side-eye because those aren't really empanadas in my book. I went with a Picadillo empanada, which came in more of a bell shape than the traditional empanada shape I'm used to seeing. Since I was still craving chicken and the empanada version was gone, I also grabbed one of the chicken pastries. The pastries were incredibly flaky--so flaky that half of one seemed determined to end up in my lap. Fortunately, the chicken filling was so good that I forgot about the mess until I finished eating. The Picadillo empanada was also quite tasty and easily the highlight of my visit. One thing that stood out was the pricing. Compared to other places I've visited for empanadas, the menu was surprisingly affordable. That's becoming increasingly rare these days. My only real complaint is the limited drink selection. A good empanada deserves a good beverage (Dr. Pepper) to go with it. Overall, this was a pleasant stop. The food was good, the prices were reasonable, and I'd definitely come back--especially for two or three more of those Picadillo empanadas. Worth a visit if you're in the area and looking for a quick, satisfying snack.
